Surely one of the highest and most diverse scoring teams we’ve had in a long time. I make it 14 current squad members have scored. Then adams, Robertson, tierney, Hanley, Nisbett from recent squads all have goals. don’t expect Mcginn to get to the 30 but could get to 3rd place.

Would definitely take him if he’s committed to the cause. Turning into a quality player, could easily take the Christie/Armstrong position. For him depends what your ambition is as a player. Obviously your national identity is a big factor, if he feels English then it’s hard to change that. if it’s down to game time then he has to ask Do you want to be a bit part player getting the odd cap here and there for England or be a first choice for Scotland? he’s up against foden rashford kane Bellingham Bowen grealish saka etc.

Georgia vs Scotland 16th Nov '23

Pretty much a half team out there. In a game which is essentially a dead rubber. Would’ve been almost impossible to top the group. If everyone is fit/available then clark, Taylor, McKenna and patterson aren’t playing. Midfield to front was as strong as we could put out but losing the goal allowed Georgia to dig in. The fact that we broke them down twice shows we have that quality in us. If robbo/tierney playing we don’t lose that first goal imo. -

Goal has shocked us and they’ll be happy to sit in and counter now. We’ve been sloppy in final third -

Need to hope Robertson tierney and hickey fit come the tournament. They make us so much better. mckenna Taylor and Patterson are a step down in quality. -

Brutal defending and Clark probably should do better -
St Johnstone v Killie

Team needs win, killie more than happy to oblige -
If any teams make group stage of champions league then their league prize money should be split among the lower 10. Celtic and rangers made group stages last season. 40 mil odd each. League prize money between them about 6 mil total (drop in the ocean to them). That’s 600k each to the other 10 clubs. Or allocate 5mil to top league and the other mil split down the leagues. 500k extra to the other clubs would be massive. Wouldn’t make an instant change but allows for teams to up their quality slightly.

Will Scotland ever be good again?

Lots of injuries for Naismith and likes of steven fletcher had beef with Levein so probably missed out on 20 odd caps. Naismith was competing with Miller/Mcfadden etc. Thought that aswell that players from last 25 years or so struggled to get over 50 caps. Lack of international tournaments costs a few caps every 2 years but there were a lot more call offs in that time. Had a reluctance from certain managers to put players in earlier. Calum Mcgregor was due a cap for a year or 2 before he got one. Jordan Rhodes and ross mccormack scoring for fun but hardly had a sniff. Mcfadden not getting to the 50 was always a shame, Maloney too. Fletcher, Gordon, Miller, Robertson, Mcginn, Mcgregor, Brown, Caldwell, Naismith and Hutton the only ones debuting after 2000 with over 50 caps. Tom Boyd, Weir, Dailly, Kev Gallacher and Colin Hendry all got caps after 2000 but for most their caps were earned before that time. Now though you have likes of Hanley, Mctominay, Armstrong, Christie, Tierney that should comfortably make it over 50. Dykes, Mclean, Mckenna all over 30 and a bunch of other players on good totals at a young age. Makes a big difference. -
Don't think that's far away. Seen someone on twitter have Harvey Barnes in as 23rd man. If that was an option then no brainer imo. Otherwise would be good to get Doak in. All the fringe players you mentioned don't offer enough of a difference to what we have. Only other option is if someone like hardie or stewart goes on a crazy scoring spree in the next 6 months or so.

Love seeing players absolutely buzzing to play for Scotland Liam Kelly

We’ve passed it about not bad but no final ball. French have ridiculous talent through that team. Goals could come from anywhere. They could do this to anyone. Although would’ve been good to see what our full strength could’ve done, we’ve got better depth these days but for the big teams we need our best available. no Mcginn Robertson tierney McGregor Gunn and probably porteous are massive misses. brown looks no bad though , he been getting much game time at Luton?

Changes please

That was a chance Patterson twice been in a good position and both times picked the wrong option

Doing in progress

Certainly helps

There’s the big difference, we do well get up the park then had no idea what to do with it. Get a ball in or a shot off. Every time we give the ball away the french look like scoring
-
French are no bad

Gads set piece

holy shit. Gilmour what a goal

Would rather McGregor or Mcginn were playing instead of McLean. Gunn for Kelly. that’s an outrageous French team and hope the changes/ injuries don’t make it too big a gulf. Regardless, biggest test we could possibly get.
-
As much as it be nice to give clarke or kelly a cap i'd rather they kept Gunn in and gave him the experience of playing a team we might well come up against in the tournament. Giving players like ferguson some minutes makes more sense as he can offer something to the team imo.

Looking at the Squads from 2013 had likes of Marshall and Mcgregor in it which we'd probably take over Gunn. Hutton ahead of Hickey or Patterson? Scott Brown over Mcgregor? Steven Fletcher over Dykes? Leigh Griffiths over Adams? Snodgrass over Christie? Maloney over armstrong? Naismith over Adams/Dykes? I can't see many taking the place of current crop. Midfield is much stronger now, Defence much stronger. For me only goalkeeper and maybe strikers get a look in.
