  1. Have Stenhousmuir got a history of backing stuff like this?
  2. International football is every bit as important as club football to me. I feel Scottish clubs, the SFA and spfl have a duty to deliver a strong national team. Generally speaking the stronger the club level is and better the country is at producing young talent the better the national team is.
  3. Who are the five out of contract players that have moved on? Gordon, Stewart, Webster (back as a coach) and who else?
  4. Also agree with the comments about youth. Ideal situation for me would be the starting 11 has to have minimum 8 players eligible to play for Scotland in it and of those players 3 have to be U21s. If it's implemented for all clubs in Scotland no one will be disadvantaged. As for the OF as I've already said it'll make little difference as they're only ever in Europe to make up the numbers and get a pay day. It won't happen because of the 11-1 rule or as it's been called the old firm veto. For the life of me I don't know why they didn't vote to change that when the old Rangers died. It should be a 8-4 or a 9-3. 11-1 to change anything is a scandal. It's getting to the point where the only way things will change is if all clubs resign and leave the poison SFA, SPFL, Old Firm regime and form a breakaway fair league with fair voting and a governing body that is democratically voted on by member clubs and fan representation.
  5. Completely agree, hence why I think the 8 Scottish player rule should return. Not like it'll impact OF or anyone else. They're so far off the pace in Europe it'll make no difference and they'll still get back to the coin toss for league champion in a few years.
  6. How does it not? You're saying it's xenophobic to impose the same rules on a club team for their nation as it is for the national team. Other leagues and clubs within Europe still have similar systems in place so it's not xenophobic in the slightest. My point is we haven't qualified for a major trophy in 20 years. That rule got thrown out 22 years ago. Time to look at bringing it back and pushing Scottish teams to develop Scottish players. Would be xenophobic saying they can't sign foreign players but that's not the rule.
  7. I think the fan owned clubs will f*ck this pretty easily. Might even do at the first hurdle if Motherwell and Hearts aren't for it. Hearts haven't said they'll put a team in but Hibs are considering it so it might encourage Hearts to say no.
  8. I'm concerned about how quiet other clubs are on this. Seems to be massively unpopular but not much chat happening. It's also a worry that a lot of fans won't know until it happens. Need to get these clowns that run our game out of the country.
  9. I hope this is nonsense. I don't know any EK fans but i imagine their thoughts on Colts won't differ greatly to the majority of fans on here. Has anyone had any word or engagement from their clubs at all before the 30th June consultation ends?
  10. Youth players only need to be here in our education system for five years to be eligible to play for the national team, it's a perfectly reasonable rule to have in place 'trained/ developed by a Scottish team for five seasons during school age. So it's not xenophobic in the slightest, your argument suggests it's xenophobic that a French player can't fly over to Scotland on the Friday and play for the national team on Saturday. .
  11. There is nothing wrong with this rule it can be implemented at anytime. The rule did not and would not ban a club signing foreign players, they can sign as many as they want, the rule would only apply to having a certain number of players play that were eligible to play for the Scottish National team. It's no more Xenophobic than the national teams themselves not being allowed to play foreign players. I think it would be a great thing to happen. Celtic and Rangers are so far off competing in Europe, they may as well be forced to develop young Scottish players to benefit the national team. Win win as well because if they do develop them they can sell them for millions.
  12. I don't see what part of it is a conspiracy theory? Colt teams will benefit The OF more than anyone else because they're likely the only ones that can afford it. If they get it right could see them up at the top of league 1 in a few years meaning teams in that league will have nothing to play for except to help train OF youth players.
  13. Will be because of the number of bigot brothers fans that read that particular paper.
  14. *Posted on other thread* I messaged SMISA last night who are the supporters club behind our fan buyout. They said they would canvas fan opinion if the club asked them to do but ultimately right now it would be a board decision. I think any fan owned club or club moving towards fan ownership would be playing a very dangerous game if they were to make a decision on this without consulting fans. Especially if they were in favor of it when fan opinion seems overwhelmingly negative. Edit* I would encourage all fans feeling strongly about this to contact their clubs, especially lowland, highland, league 1 and league 2 fans where it'll impact massively.
  15. Well that sounds like a terrible idea so pretty glad it didn't get agreed. Hopefully the colts will be exact same
  16. My fear is they'll try and do this underhanded. That's why they've said they'll start at the bottom of the pyramid. I don't think the voting is as stringent for clubs coming in there. Then they'll just end up working their way up to league 1 or 2.
  17. I think this highlights an even bigger problem with football in this country (and others) Why on earth are the people in charge of the SFA and SPFL not democratically elected? They've had f*ck up after f*ck up for years now but yet still in a job! It's beyond a joke. Look at some of their great ideas. 10,000 seat stadiums with undersoil heating to get into the top flight The 12-12-18 nonsense The premier league relegation play-off spot being completely weighted to the premier league side Probably the worst of all, their absolute farce in dealing with Rangers liquidation, trying to get the new club voted into the Championship instead of the bottom of the pyramid. They should be voted on by clubs every 3-4 years with the fans of each club allowed to determine how they vote. Doncaster Regan and co would be long gone by now. The fans of 40 clubs do not want colts in the league, this is clear. What's also clear is it's 100% pandering to the Old Firm. Drop the idea now and let's fight to take our sport back by demanding these fools that run our game are held accountable for their blatant incompetence.
  18. Alex Rae favourite? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] please please please let it be so. Hahahahaha
  19. What rubbish [emoji23][emoji23] yes we've had a couple of poor seasons but we have retained the majority of a team that's been on fine form at Championship level. We've brought in money his summer with likely more to come from sell on clauses to strengthen further and already signed some very promising players. McGinn, Morgan, Maggenis, Smith, McKenzie are all very good quality players at that level, arguably could get in any squad in the league with McGinn possibly being one of the very best in the division. On what planet do you think Morton are in a better position? You have 9 contracted full time players for next season, 1 win in the last 12 and a much smaller budget than us. In other words a full rebuild to do. Please enlighten me to your logic that you'll likely finish higher than us for the third season in a row... from my understanding that would be the first time in 70 years that happened.
  20. Heart breaking, that time you made a semi final reminded me of us lifting the same trophy. You raging? Remember Alex Rae? You must of been so happy as well? Did you enjoy the last two seasons? Happiest time ever as a football fan? That's cute.
  21. From where they started that was very good. Second most inform team in the league over the last quarter. You can spin it anyway you want everyone knows we're better than little Morton. Better team Better achievements Better stadium and facilities More fans Brighter future You raging? Remember February and Alex Rae? Just think of happier times. 4th in the championship is the same as a major trophy or premier league football, don't worry. Are you raging? Remember we nearly went down? Were you really happy then?
  22. My point was the crowd was shite and it's hilarious, that wasn't supposed to be related to the absolute weapon making points about how this current St Mirren team are only as good as 7th. A point that's a lot more relevant about saying it was a decent crowd for the time and day is that even when you were winning games and doing well, playing on a Saturday at 3pm you were still only taking about 1,600 home fans. Laughable numbers.
  23. 700 fans for a play-off is a joke and it's not like you can use that excuse for 3pm Saturday games
