Congrats to Tranent. Worthy winners! The two games against us showed their character coming back from 2 down twice at the arse end of the season to win the league is top class. Commiserations to Penicuik who have also been excellent. Great league this year!

Could sign a team from five a sides for the colts games as the points don’t could anyway and save the legs for the real games.

That’ll happen at some level though. I think we need to stop talking about league and non league too. There’s next to no difference from League 2 to the East and West Premier and it’ll be great when it eventually all joins up for all the clubs involved imo.

Nonsense. There’s a series of 20 team leagues below League 2 which is basically a relegation feeder to those leagues now. That needs to come to the party and become a 20 team league with a two or three down. Just delaying the inevitable just now which is to the detriment of the game.

Is that not League 2 though. It’s a nonsense and there should be two down from League 2 into with the HL and LL champs going up.

As a Rose fan I didn’t see anything wrong with the reaction of Tranent. That’s a huge point, an absolute sickener for us but our boys can be proud that we are in the equation given how shite we were under Brown Ferguson. We’ve pretty much turned over a full squad of players so to still mathematically have a chance of the league at this stage, first cup final in 8 years and still in the league cup is a great season. I don’t think whoever wins it will have enough to best Talbot or Darvel though, which is shame on the Lowland League. Still plenty to go though as I know we won’t be lying down so even if we don’t win it we’ll have a say in who does. Hail the Gallant! [emoji257]

It’s only a booking if the foul is a booking. I thought it was the correct decision. A good game tonight. Was frantic and never felt comfortable at any point. A draw is probably a fair result with Rose on top first half and Tranent piling on the pressure last half hour. Sickener though.

We’ve got some run in. If we win the league it’ll be deserved. Tranent got to be favourites but this next one between us will be some game!

This is a really strong league. Every team can win on their day so there’s still plenty to play for! Obviously I’d like to go up but for me the EOS Premier right now is a better competition than the LL. We’ll look fondly on this set up once the trapdoor is eventually sorted out. Feels like the old Johnny Walker league at the minute. Hail the Gallant!

I suspect there’s a bit of guessing who is in the hunt with the original schedule but it makes sense to hold these games a bit to get the crowds up. Scheduling is mainly excellent - away to Luncarty in the deciding cup group game with a 6.30pm ko isn’t great though!

I think there is an element of that but we did take out Spartans, Penicuik and the Shire in the cups, good wins at home to Jeanfield and away to Broxburn and Musselburgh. I think it’s mainly due to having not quite the squad to plough on all fronts and losing Docherty to injury has been the biggest turning point. Stowe is a much better player when he is playing. That and 21 wins in a row is phenomenal, that got us back in the race but very hard to keep that going at that pace all season. Still think we have it in us to grab silverware but needing a couple slip ups again from Tranent and Penicuik isn’t great with our run in for the league. Easy to forget we were 10 points a drift without a prayer!

I agree. One of if not the hardest away game for me.

Squads win trophies. Last night we had four fit outfield subs which shows that players get stretched this part of the season especially our front players at tempo. McMinn for me is really struggling and as much as it’s nice to see him get a run I think he should be moved on. Decent save last night but the missed catch in the top c and the third goal pretty much sun up what I’ve seen of him this season. Totally lacking confidence and needs to drop a level and start enjoying it again. That will translate to the defence and we leak goals especially when Shaw isn’t in there.

That’s a good point. That could be a vote lost as if Cowdenbeath came down, they’d probably not vote for a stronger team to come up and potentially challenge.

Yeah he was a big reason it didn’t happen. He’s gone now though and we are all trying our best to play in a new world without the glass ceiling. Oh wait….. I think it’s probably time for some collective pressure on the LL teams given the stalemate. Boycotting all cup away games VS LL teams would be a great start.

They did, and I commend them for that but they are being falsely held at that level through votes that are clearly against the good of the game. A lot of these teams were voting in essence for something they already had. Similar opponents etc, it was a huge decision for the juniors to make imo. It was never going to be made quickly.
