  1. Far better signings that you'd be expecting to make at this stage. Don't care if it's only loan deals tbh, we desperately need quality out there. Excited about Wright, who seems exactly what we need, absolutely no idea bout Williams as I've never seen him play before, Fulham fans called him a "poor man's Patrick Roberts", who can "play either wing" so I suppose that's decent. They rejected a bid from Scunthorpe in the Summer. Anyone any idea who the CM is?
  2. Chris McCart is an absolute fucking nobody who seems to believe the Celtic badge on his top makes him relevant. If the authorities had a single bollock between them they'd distance themselves from the entire thing after that mind numbing interview.
  3. Given the out of contract players, and TW losing patience, I'd hope we see a turnaround of a major degree. I'd be giving young players, and the likes of Alston, a proper run to evaluate them for next season. Sink or swim time.
  4. We were all disappointed he was being forced out. 12 months later and he's still clearly our best CM. Probably highlights what's gone wrong at the club, tbh. No doubt its the wrong word, but there's been an arrogance about the squad we have that isn't deserved. We've refused to replace players for far too long
  5. I wish he'd stop that, tbh. Its him thats handed the likes of Keith Watson two year deals, its him whos signed the likes of Paul Paton and Kyle McLean, and its him who woefully misuses the quality players we have.
  6. Why? So TW can spend it all on 20yo players to sit on the bench? Or "experienced pros" like Paton? Wouldn't be a huge shock if he now goes out and signs Ryan fucking Dow.
  7. Tells people to live in the real world, before inviting people into a fantasy situation. Incredible. Terrifying to think folk like this hold any form of sway in this vote, seems totally determined to defend it at any cost. This "bribe" for 24 months isn't the answer to Cowdenbeaths issues.
  8. Because you're trying to get £30m off the likes of Chelsea for Dembele, clubs like Chelsea don't want to sign strikers who'll not hit the ground running straight away. The market you're trying to sell too doesn't value potential, so you're putting Dembele straight up against the likes of Dzeko, but you're wanting more for less. That's why absolutely nobody has any interest in him, apart from desperate dross like Brighton, and why you'll be stuck with him sulking for six months before you sell him for much less than you wanted.
  9. Is that why you're asking £30m for Dembele, who's only scored in the "diddy" Scottish top flight and a few CL games, while Roma are asking £25m for a proven goalscorer in Dzeko? Or are you going to spout some shite about "potential" being worth an extra £15m in a market obsessed with instant impact? Worth remembering Juventus only paid £9.5m for one of the highest rated young players in world football.
  10. Was actually a two year extension. He's contracted until 2020.
  11. Would seem bizarre to ignore two poor months on the back of one average one. We've been desperate for players in certain positions (wingers/CMs) for what seems like forever.
  12. In fairness there's a rumour you're paying virtually nothing for Ciftci, such was Celtic's desperation to have him out the club.
  13. Sounds like the type of situation where Swanson will hold off on a decision to see of he'll feature for Hibs, and we'll be left in the twilight zone kicking our heels. Feels like we wasted a month waiting on MOH and now we'll likely waste the final week waiting on Swanson. TW called folk idiots for assuming nothing is happening behind the scenes, you have to ponder what's actually happening if after four weeks of " hard work behind the scenes" leads to us signing nobody and having Jonathan Franks on trial.
  14. Michael Johnston is a prime example. 18yo left winger at Celtic who's hugely rated. What are Celtic doing with this player they've developed? They've left him rotting in their youth team. They won't play him in the senior team, and signed Hayes and Morgan to go above him, and they won't loan him out because they want him as a fourth choice option in case of injuries.
  15. Rangers and Celtic have a long history of holding back young players for their own game. Rocco Quinn was a regular for us who never played for Celtic, was in his early twenties, and Celtic refused to let him leave for anything less than £300k. Im struggling to understand how those two clubs are considered to be ideal candidates in this "improve the youths" scenario.
  16. I'm not only comparing to the 70s. During the 60s we averaged about the same as we're doing. The early 90s were a blip, remove that from a graph of our average attendances and you'd see the current crowds are above the mean.
  17. We've had a worse set of fixtures, particularly with Aberdeen at home. Folk seem desperate to skate our crowds. Bare facts are they're higher than out historical crowds, and moving to McDiarmid hasn't harmed the crowds, or the club, which is the only relevance to this thread.
  18. Yes, but every smaller club in the country enjoyed a surge in crowds at that point. It genuinely infuriates me so many people use that era as some form of proof crowds are shite.
  19. Retail Park would be a disaster, it can take me an hour to get from one side of town to the other after my work, either way out of two. The set up of town is an absolute shitemare with traffic. McDiarmid gets you on the bypass almost instantly. Thanks for proving my point though, folk still moan about McDiarmids position, yet we're perfectly fine and managed to gain fans. St Johnstone attendances are higher than in the 70s/80s, there was a huge upsurge after the move, along with most clubs at that time, so don't get distracted by that.
