  1. He had some glimpses of things. Ran the show v County in the cup, I think, might have been the league, but only for about 30 minutes. Played an important late pass to set up a winner away to Aberdeen aswell. He was just too slow. No pace to get up and down the park so ended up just wandering around the middle as the game passed him by. Could see intention in his eye when he got the ball but he took a split second too long and mucked it up as he'd be pressured by then. It was a shame to see, tbh, but fair fucks to him for keeping at it. No idea how he'd do down here, especially since he's barely played in the past five years, but I doubt he'd play over 500 minutes in your whole season.
  2. Yes, we're reaching a stage where we need two or three strikers capable of performing (we need one anyway, MacLean is 35 and we'd hopefully be able to get a more consistent back up option than Cummins or Kane) It's a real shame this problem has just sprung up, and we've not had five or six transfer windows to prepare for it.. The left winger situation is similar
  3. I dunno, his "goals per minutes" for us shits on Cummins, and is good in general, but he went swathes of that season looking absolutely useless, before scoring goals in spurts. He's still not someone I'd expect to be scoring regularly, tbh though, there's nobody in the squad I expect to score regularly.
  4. Cummins man. Wonder what the reaction will be when our only other signing is Brian Graham. Mouth watering stuff.
  5. If he's on about the post I'm thinking about, it was lost in "the cull" when the site updated
  6. Imagine an attacking four of Swanson, Scougall, Abeid and May.
  7. Mehdi Abeid moved for £215k this Summer, May moving for £350k. If only real life was Football Manager and we had £1m to spend *sad face*
  8. Hopefully he's trying to goad them into believing it's how we'll set up in the second leg, before we unleash the 4-2-3-1 that actually suits our squad.
  9. I once went absolutely mental at MacLean for taking a quick throw in. Ended up with almost scoring and he gestured towards me straight after. Feel like he does it on purpose now
  10. I've posted on the Saints Euro thread and the transfer thread already this morning. You carry on though.
  11. Nice to see we're back to proclaiming Chris Kane as the answer to all our problems. You know what they say, the fifteenth times the charm..
  12. Dundee have won the league once, over 50 years ago, and still bring it up on every match day thread with us...
  13. Do you still want Alston? His inability to finish any form of 1v1 with a keeper is a bit boring
  14. Need it now, and they need to be good, seeing as letting Scobbie go was to help sign these attacking players. O'Halloran would be a start but I'm still hugely unconvinced we could afford him
  15. Away games in Europe are about more than the result tbh.
  16. We've already played three, had to start early due to the European Qualifiers. Finishing in the top four has these downsides.
  17. He's done alright considering the step up he's had to take. Then again, Wotherspoon was dreadful last season and still outperformed him stats wise, it hardly bodes well for Alstons chances of being first choice.
  18. Surprised you're trying to compare the sides when we effortlessly pluck your best players and plonk them on our bench. Can't imagine how you'd react if we did sign Sibbald next Summer then barely played him.
  19. Not sure we'd be interested tbh, he'd be competing with Scougall for a place, and Alstons struggled to make much impact in the top flight.
  20. Not really no, I want him to be playing regularly again.
  21. Scott Burns now reporting about May and Aberdeen. Never doubt me, Spud.
  22. He scored an absolute screamer in one of his few outings after injury, so you'd suggest if he's treated correctly he'll be fine.
  23. He's apparently up this weekend to finalise his move
  24. This. Even outwith him picking up the ball and walking off the pitch, he was regularly caught well out of position and simply out muscled by strikers
