  1. You won't get £500k for him, that's what we got for O'Halloran who was verging on a Scotland call up at the time. I don't think you realise how contradictory you're being. You can't claim you'll make a fortune of a player you later say has serious injury problems.
  2. Well exactly. I may be wrong, but I'm sure this next year he can sign elsewhere for free. So your club has two windows to make money on him. Will they turn money down now in the hope he avoids injury in the next six months?
  3. Our board seem to be realising that players can be a form of income as well, due to profits made on the likes of O'Halloran. Over the past two years we've signed a raft of youngsters from the lower leagues. I can see us spending a, lower end, six figure sum if we believe he can make an instant impact. We've had a horrendous time trying to replace Frazer Wright at centre half, and if Shaughnessy (his replacement and out of contract in the summer) does get tempted away, we'll be wanting a safe signing in there.
  4. Hopefully McGinn joins Hartlepool or something, just so we see Paula in his "Scottish footballs so shite" tiny tears mode, which always comes up after his team get shown up in some way.
  5. As I say, the chances of paying the fee for Grant are minimal, but we are watching him (like many others I'd imagine). We wouldn't be wasting time with our limited staff if we didn't believe we had a chance.
  6. Watched highlights of Annan v Stirling there, he's absolutely rapid, right footed and seemed to be playing left wing. Glorious.
  7. How old is he? And that? I was reading your thread the other day and seen someone mention he'd scored in your last four games (or a similar thing, can't remember). As I say, wouldn't be a shock if we signed him then loaned him out
  8. Would make sense. We seem fairly interested in signing youngsters from the lower leagues these days, and can imagine Dave Mackay will keep us well informed on things aswell.
  9. Twice I've been 1-0 up against Rangers. Twice they've scored a 25 yard screamer in the last minute.
  10. He almost scored from about 30 yards that day, the utter c**t.
  11. I shall not wilt in the darkness, nor fail through the night... Followed up my winless start by only losing two of the next ten (away to County, away to Hearts). Only won four of those ten though. Sitting 7th, 4 points of 6th, and 6 off 5th.
  12. Aye, the Scobbie/Paton bit was a joke, our interest in Grant isn't though. Genuinely can't see it happening as we're pretty restrictive in terms of fees, but we're nearing £2.5m in the bank, and there's surely a point when we'll be willing to spend a little if the right player comes along.
  13. Surprised to see Locke signing another player with a connection to Hearts, tbh.
  14. Worth reading the post above, in relation to when we moved for Alston
  15. Hearts are seemingly offering a wage rise, long term deal and a promise he'll be played as a central striker.
  16. Tam Scobbie, Paul Paton and £50k for Peter Grant sounds like a decent deal for you lot. Happy we're doing business yet again.
  17. Interesting to note we've loaned out a centre half and a right back. Especially when the only rumour about us signing anyone has been Peter Grant of Falkirk, a centre half. Although I see TW is mentioning the return of Watson and Gilchrist as the reason for the loans.
  18. As is always the way, one pumpings led to a horrendous run, so instead of sitting top and in the quarters like I was, I'm now sitting bottom and out the cup with four straight losses.
  19. Lost 3-0 to Aberdeen. Absolutely raging.
  20. Hes out of contract in the summer, and surely still has hopes of earning more caps with NI, so if he's second choice behind Clark, then I can see him asking to move for first team football. The club, and TW, seem to have enough respect to allow senior players to leave if there's a genuine reason for it, we let Frazer Wright leave for free just a month after he signed a new contract as he wanted to go part time, despite the fact it left us short in defence.
  21. Ill try and remember to post screenshots once I've moved into my new house, as some are maybe unknowns. But it's Ibrahima Sy (20yo keeper, 2.5*CA, 5*PA), Yarouba Cissako (21yo RB, 4.5*CA, 5*PA), Derk Boerrigter (29yo LW, 3*CA) and I've got Daryl Horgan (23yo LW, 4*CA) joining on a free from Dundalk in January. All were free agents. Nobodies gone out yet, but Coulson picked up an injury that ruled him out for 9 months. Got it back but I'm back in the Group Stage, so I have to try and repeat my win over Aberdeen to avoid a break up.
  22. Yeah, Clarks displaced him. Clarks been dodgy/poor since being knocked out a few weeks back, but Mannus hasn't gotten back in, so it's like Clark is now first choice completely. Can't see Mannus wanting to sit on the bench, and I can't see the club keeping him against his will considering the quality we have in young goalkeepers (two of them are involved in Scottish youth sides)
  23. Started again with Saints, won every cup game, including a couple of absolute pumpings, then beat Aberdeen 1-0 on the opening day. Team was all performing and my new, young, signings were all looking like absolute steals. 1-0 up against Hamilton and the cup, and my girlfriend decides to move, catches my laptop charging wire and it fly off my lap onto the floor. Laptop goes black, load it back up and the save files not there. Horrible.
  24. Suicide Squad looked outstanding with the early, darker, trailers. It's a shame they went so "quirky" with it.
