  1. As I say, I got my seasons mixed up with that first quote, it seems.
  2. I loved the Lomas season, we were fairly attacking and had Mehdi too. The man himself annoyed me though, really shifty interviews and constant moaning about the budget
  3. Would that not be 101? TW again saying contract talks are going well. Beginning to wonder if he's merely lying to placate fans now
  4. Have you not paid attention to sporting or something? They'd willingly let him rot our of pure spite.
  5. Just been reading old threads. Apparently at a "Meet the Manager" event, Lomas raved about May and said he hoped he'd make a big impact in the next season. It's then mentioned that Steve Brown said, at a POTY ceremony, that May was on his way out the door under Lomas
  6. Was that not due to an injury? Anyway its all just rumours anyway. Won't be long until I get accused of presenting these things as facts.
  7. I only posted there to report a bug m8
  8. Might not be worth much but McDonald was on Sportscene the other day saying he's desperate to have a better go at the cups with Motherwell next season.
  9. Well yeah, a lot of talk in the months previous were about may wanting assurances he wouldn't be a perennial sub who gets loaned out later in the season, while Lomas wasn't convinced he was good enough to make that commitment too, which led to a stalemate which, for a long time, looked like it would lead to May leaving. Nobody will ever know the truth in that, unless Lomas' book, but it was fairly widely reported at the time. Worth noting that TW didn't seem to particularly rate May as first choice either, to begin with.
  10. Thank you for using the correct capitalisation of my username, too often people do it wrong when trying to insult me.
  11. The story goes that Lomas planned on loaning May out again, and that May didn't want to be loaned again, so would be asking to leave. Fairly sure either May or TW referenced it at some point that season.
  12. If John Connolly hadn't signed Steven Anderson we wouldn't have opened the scoring in the final, judging by your logic, so clearly, Connolly is our greatest ever manager.
  13. Yeah, he made good signings, amongst the Doughtys and Keatings.
  14. I know we did, but I seem to remember we were horrendous for the first few months, and the final few months, with the middle section pretty much securing us third. His signings weren't the most promising either, although he gave us Abeid, and it's harsh to judge a managers signings in their first real job.
  15. I'd argue we've already had our Baraclough in Lomas. If he hadn't been poached then he'd likely have dragged us down the way, seeing as we're abysmal for 2/3rds of his season.
  16. Hes been discussed on FM forums for the past six months m8... I'd advise folk to load the NI leagues and sign a right back from Coleraine called Lyndon Kane. A solid, defensive Premiership RB for peanuts.
  17. I'd want Foster re-signed, whether that's first or last matters very little to me.
  18. Wishful thinking on your part, we always take a long time to negotiate new deals with players. Steve also increased the budget this year in both the first team and the youth team... Probably more the fact he's been one of our best performers this season, tbh.
