The St. Mirren FC 2023/24 thread

100% this . Goal line technology is a clear yes / no . VAR is still leaving it in the hands of humans who make mistakes , I’d rather one ref makes a mistake than have 3 of them, multiple camera angles, slo-mos , still frames and pitchside monitors ( facing into the sun in our case ) and still having different opinions on incidents. Failed experiment- get it tae f**k -

Really ? So you think we would offer him a reduced deal as a reward for being one of our most consistent performers and being an integral part of the team that has just achieved back to back top 6 finishes ?? Glad you’re not in charge of my annual performance bonus review team ! -

We play 6 a side indoor at the MOBO facility on Inchinnan road ,Paisley 8pm on Mondays . We are always happy to take new players - all ages ( current crop ranges from 20s to 60 somethings ) all levels of ability ( but not too fast ) If anyone would like to add their name to the list ,perhaps looking to get back into playing & helping to drink the kitty just drop me a msg . We started off primarily as a Buddies group although we are happy to accept anyone - we even have a Killie fan who turned up in his home strip after last weeks game and he wasn’t lynched as I said, if you fancy it, drop me a msg ️ -

I’ve not been following his career lately . Why hasn’t he kicked a ball ? Has he been injured / off form ? -

After the same amount of games this year V last year we are 3 places , 4 points & 13 goals better off . Good steady improvement - tough next 4 games but here’s hoping we can collect a few more points pre-split and have a good ol crack at it after the split . -

. Good to meet you too Bud . I was talking to TPAFKA pre match about Olusanya and lets just say , I was less than complimentary in my view of him but thank god he popped up and grabbed us a point ! A point earned at a very difficult venue is not to be sniffed at I suppose. Onwards & Upwards ️ -

Baccus will start. He was given time on Wednesday on return from the Asian Cup to get him up to speed for tomorrow to replace Kwon. Manager has a decision to make between Taylor & Dunne. Given that Dunne has been getting some game time lately when late CH subs are made, I feel he may get the nod although I’d prefer Taylor to start. -

Go have a look at your post , you present it as fact that we will go 4th if we win our next two games , this simply isn’t true, it’s probable but not fact . Although Celtic will be favourites to take the points from Killie, absolutely nothing is certain . Who would have thought Killie could have done the double over them this season ? -

If that’s the case, Someone should remind him that Killie have beaten Celtic TWICE this season - nothing should be taken for granted. -

& Now there are Seven who’ve scored more than us ! & don’t forget , of those who have scored less, 3 have games in hand. Dons just need 1 goal in 2 games in hand to overtake us. -

Yes , not unexpected but what was unexpected and was a massive disappointment was the lack of organisation, effort & commitment plus individual lapses and the fact that we didn’t lay a glove on them ! They had 8 times more shots at goal than us … 8 fucking times !! . 75/25 Possession spilt I can get but not a single shot at goal against their 11 , 1 corner v their 12 is unacceptable. Thank f**k for Zach hemming -

I’d love to see more Scots in the running but 2023 hasn’t been a stellar year for us, Josh Kerr winning Gold at worlds would be the only one I can think of. No idea if any of our Welsh cousins have done much of note this year either . -

We’re one point & three league positions better off this season than last at this stage. Sure our overall form has dipped & we’ve not hit the heights of the early part of the season but other teams will have dips in form also in the coming months. Hopefully we can pick up a decent haul of points in December with a few home games to come. COYS ️ -

There’s the issue right there. As you say , how can we tell (or the manager In a Matchday scenario ) just what he’s like in the team. I believe all of his appearances have been bit part , 10 mins or so here or there often having to come on as part of a reshuffle or such like. I think he needs some starts to see how he performs, if we’re not going to play him, why sign him ? Robbo was singing his praises when he signed, knew him from his time down south and stressed the fact that he is versatile , can play CH or RB . -

I’m not even sure that was on target , I’m sure it was going wide but their keeper simply couldn’t take any chances.
