On Saturday I’m gonna point at the pitch knowingly and spout these facts to strangers. It’ll impress everyone within earshot. -

League split - good or bad ?
CoF replied to Jastons6's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Surely the championship is great because it’s a cluster of clubs with similar resources. The smaller structure helps that of course, but it doesn’t automatically translate to the top flight- which is kinda fucked no matter how you structure it. -
Has Colin Calderwood had his say yet?

Sporting fairness is slightly off, but creates more meaningful games so on balance it's good. -

I don't think it needs a particularly complex analysis. We're the joint third highest scorers and that's thanks to Kettlewell, we've got the fifth worse defence and that's also thanks to Kettlewell. He tried to rectify that problem in the January window by replacing the wide defensive players, which made sense given we had the same personnel through the centre of defence that were solid last season. It's transpired that the problem is in fact, the players through the centre. His plan could have worked, but it didn't. I get that the jury is out, but assuming nothing mental happens between now and the end of the season I'm content with him still being in charge next season. -

Pure curiosity here, what's the latest on Van Veen? Is it still a fitness issue? -
When did your team shite it big time?
CoF replied to DA Baracus's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Aye, and we were also the first top flight team to play them since they generously given a place in the league setup. The venom in Ibrox was something else that night. Absolutely brutal showing. -

Absolutely this. Here's an (updated) copy and paste of what I've posted before on this very subject - Since 2000 there's been 31 cup finals with Rangers or Celtic vs someone else and they've been beaten twice (Hibs and Killie - well done lads). So they've won 93.6% of their finals and we've met one of them in all four of ours. Shite luck indeed. And despite all the banana skins that we've successfully broken our neck on over the years, our recent frequency of getting to finals is actually okay. Again, since 2000 we're on 4. Comparable to similar size clubs that's decent - St Mirren with 2, , Falkirk 2, Kilmarnock 3, St Johnstone 3, Inverness 4. Dundee united are on 4 and other city clubs only marginally better - Aberdeen 6, Hearts 6 and Hibs out in front with 8. Dundee have made 1. -

Just spotted Airdrie are in a strong spot for the play-offs. Anyone care if they come up or not? I started going to games mid 90's so just a bit too young to have any sense of that rivalry. -

Back to Ainsworth- here’s a goal from his relentless tour of English non league clubs. It’s a lovely goal and I dunno why, the strike is just very Ainsworthy. -

The whole thing being fucked goes back about 30 years, to the start of multiple broadcast cameras at games. Now, high profile games have about 20+ high res, slow mo angles for us to scrutinise every single decision. It would be a superhuman achievement to keep up in real time. VAR is basically the refs playing catch-up - applying the rules with the same level of precision that pundits and fans have been doing post-match for the last 15 years. My solution is to limit TV coverage to a single shitter of a camera, high up in the stands. Suck it up armchair fans. -

Couldn’t you equally argue thats still a natural action for that situation? His arm is up there because he’s jostling with Milne. There’s also a case to say Milnes jump plays its part in where Bairs arm goes. Again, all part the natural movement for that situation. -

Isn’t there some weird new interpretation where the rule is applied slightly differently depending on if it’s an attacker or a defender? I don’t understand the rules (sounding a bit bbc pundit there), and I havent properly seen either incident so no idea if that’s even relevant. -
