Normally I would say we'd really struggle but the standard from top to bottom is so poor this year that I'd still fancy our chances to get at least 4th. I haven't been impressed by anyone including ourselves.

Why not a swap deal then We could punt a couple that haven't worked out for us and take one or two that haven't worked out somewhere else.Couldn't be any worse than craigen or Rankin have been. Let's face it no change and you can basically forget anything apart from a fight for probably 4th.

He was on the bench yesterday and still didn't get a sniff even though Muirhead was having a mare.

If you can't replace with the same quality you strengthen the team as a whole. We can't afford a replacement for Vaulks as good as he is so you use the cash to strengthen the whole team. Get a decent right sided player in. Get someone with legs in the middle of the park. Sign a right back that's going to play every week instead of Muirhead. Obviously the manager doesn't rate kidd either or he'd be playing. Sign better players in areas we're struggling in and then the players we have there become the squad players instead of signing poorer players which give you extra bodies but our first team is weaker. The likes of Rankin and craigen have been so bad they've highlighted the loss of Vaulks and Alston. Craigen can't even make the bench for God's sake.

Players he should never have signed. He's not been left in this situation by another manager. His recruitment has been awful and he needs to fix it or the seasons virtually a right off . If we don't freshen things up we'll be lucky to end up 4th the way we're playing. The bod surely can't be happy with current performances and don't have the confidence to back him with any more cash so to me he either changes things or holds his hands up and moves on. It's another opportunity wasted. Next season we won't have 400k in prize money and 3000 odds season tickets sold. The budget will be cut due to us pishing the extra cash available this season on crap like craigen,Rankin and Kidd.

He needs to go now then. Any manager worth his salt would be punting out some of these players one way or another. Whether it's on a 2 for 1 basis or something similar. We'll be lucky to make the playoffs and I can't see many fans buying season tickets next year if we have another 4 months of this turgid pish. His signings have dragged us down and it's up to him to get it fixed or ship out.

We won't get a decent run together unless we get some fresh faces in. If we go through January without anyone coming in then we're going to be in a playoff dogfight with Morton and Raith and the way we're playing I'm not overly confident it's one we'll win.

Looks like DU could go top of the league by 3 points tonight and their bang average. Just makes our close season feck ups even harder to bare. The leagues there for the taking.

Hope they've got bags of cash to spend as they'll need it. The one bonus from his injury was him signing a new contract thankfully. Whilst Alston perhaps wasn't a pure right sided midfielder he still scored a load of goals. It would probably take the likes of Taiwo 4 or 5 seasons to score that many. He had the legs to run all day too. Vaulks also had a decent goal return, could go box to box and had great drive. Our current midfield lacks everything that they did well and is why we're struggling at the moment.

Whatever happened to player swaps? Never seems to happen these days. We could punt the likes of Rankin and craigen to someone else for one of there players. Watson another one that can go. Houston needs to get his finger out and to start wheeling and dealing.

What about the Conte 343 Rogers gasparotto, muirhead, grant kidd Kerr Taiwo Leahy Hippo Baird Sibbald.

We're in some way fortunate that the standard in this league is pish. Having lost 5 games already we should be a lot more than 9 points off top spot. We're still favourites for a playoff spot but we badly need some new faces in January.

I reckon we'll have Sibbald with us till he's 24. I can't see anyone coming in for him and paying the comp . He'll sign one year deals till then and then sign for St Johnstone or Partick or a team of theat ilk.

Hibs have only beaten us 3 times in the last 13 attempts.

You lost a goal to us with ten men. A goal from another badly defended cross ball into the box I may add. Houstie pointed out Hibs weakness back in our cup semi win and yet it happened in both games at hibs last year the playoffs last season and again in our last game. Their terrible at defending crosses.

And to think some people have touted some of the Hibs defence for scotland caps. Aye lets bolster a Scotland defence who are feckin useless at defending crossballs with some Hibee defenders who are even more hopeless at defending cross balls.

Hughes and Craig decisions are still embarrassing the club . Will it ever end.

The eufa youth cup is u-19s . You'd think Celtic would be able to throw together enough u-20's and effe Ambroses to field a team in the development league too. Otherwise can't see the point of them being in it to be honest.

I notice that Celtic have 6 games in hand on us. Anyone know why they've played only 8 games compared to anyone else?

I wouldn't expect him to name names but can't see anything wrong with him saying I have a few players in mind or something similar. I'd like to think that we plan ahead and have replacement players in mind in case any of our current team leave and a number of players we would be interested in signing to add to the squad if cash is available.

Kind of disappointing that he doesn't have anyone in mind. Surely he should have a list of possible targets already set out for when we hit January.

We'll never know as for some strange reason the whole explanation on why we withdrew the appeal was kept under wraps. If your idea was indeed the case then I'm sure most of us would've said ok no problem if we'd simply been told. Otherwise the fact its all a big secret means people wonder if it was the cash or if someone at the club made an arse of it.
