  1. Style of football, dreadful signings the list goes on. We finished 27 points ahead of Morton last season. We're now behind them in the league and got pumped out the cup by them with hardly as much as a whimper. Whilst it was always going to be difficult to compete with Hibs again this season , with a bigger budget this term we should be at least pushing du for second and should be comfortably in 3rd place but we'll be lucky to get into the playoffs unless something is done now.
  2. Hughes's time has been and gone. The last thing we need is a manager who wants us to spunk cash on players we haven't got . He left ICT because they wouldn't risk the future of the club to meet his spending requirements. I'd also prefer a manager who can get a team to perform all season and not just up to Xmas. Can't say I have any optimism at all about the next wee while. Houston needs to go but God knows who the clowns on the bod would appoint next. It's a frightening thought.
  3. It's actually quite an achievement to turn such a decent side like the one we had last season into such a bloody awful one in only a few months. Take a bow the ginger clown!
  4. I take some of it with a pinch of salt mate. To be honest Grant was sleeping at their goal last week and the boy that writes it seems to really rate him.
  5. Here Here you go mate. http://spfl.co.uk/news/article/spfl-team-of-the-week-15-94/
  6. I I can't remember where I saw it mate. It's normally all top flight players but with them being off it was all lower leagues.
  7. Grant dropped? Crazy stuff after making the spfl team of the week last Saturday. . McCracken and Watson scares the life out of me. Why two centre half's on the bench too?
  8. Can't say I've been overly impressed by many players outside a number at hibs and the likes of Andreu and Dobbie and we couldn't afford any of them. In the majority of positions most are no better than what we've already got . Somebody mentioned quitongo whose scored a massive what 2 goals so far in his career. I'd strongly avoid the championship for future signings unless we want to end up with more kidds, craigen's and gasparotto's. Time to look a bit further a field.
  9. He also played in trial matches I seem to remember. He wasn't good enough for Airdrie never mind us.
  10. How Houston could ever think Morgan was good enough after a 3 week trial I'll never know. If he'd been a panic rushed signing there could be some excuse but we had him on trial for ages. Same with rory feckin boulding. Signing both after trials even though they were both utter dug meat.
  11. Thought that but wondered when u said our new right winger.
  12. I thought he was only on loan to Queens? Aird's sevco contract wasn't up till 2018 so he's taking a gamble ripping that up to come to us. At least he's keen to get game time instead of getting paid to sit on the bench at ibrox.
  13. I'd like to think we've got an option of extending the deal included in his contract. Whilst 6 months is a good idea considering Houston's previous record you don't want him to be brilliant and then bugger off elsewhere for hee haw.
  14. Only 5 more years? At the moment I'd take that too.
  15. Alston wasn't really a right mid either but he made a far better job of it than craigen ever will. The guy runs like he's in quick sand. Even if we stuck him in the middle we'd need to sign someone with pace and the legs to cover for him.
  16. You should know by now that their always the last to know!!
  17. I get the feeling he isn't Houston's first choice but the other move ain't happening so he was the backup. Can only be an improvement on what we have on the right but I can't see this turning our season around I'm afraid.
  18. Beck wasn't bad and Bingham seems to be doing OK for accies at the moment. Loy and Grant are also better signings than any of Houston's I'd suggest. Whilst a better manager would have probably got us up at least we made the playoffs. Houston at the moment is at risk of us missing out on them two seasons out of 3 which would frankly be unacceptable.
  19. We've got loads of depth in many areas it's just bodies though . No quality. We'd be better off with the youngsters as backups on small wages rather than paying out cash on 2 year deals for the likes of kidd and craigen to sit on the bench. Although Holt wasn't great his signings I would say were a bit better than houstons. Mind you they couldn't be any worse.
  20. Houston's signings since he arrived have been poor in the main to say the least. The more players leave that were signed by his predecessors and are replaced by his own signings the worse we are going to get. This was a season that should've been one to look forward to with an increased budget good season ticket sales and the basis of a good side. Houston's dire signings have wrecked any chance of a decent season and the worrying thing is players like kidd and craigen are on 2 year deals taking up budget for no return. Next season the budget will drop as will the season ticket holders unless changes are made . Whether that's to the team or manager it needs done now.
  21. Whats the point in signing up Roberts for only a few months? If he turns into a decent player he surely could be off anywhere at the end of the season.
  22. On saying that we were very fortunate to beat killie in the first game. I think it was a bit of both. The fact we were knackered and the fact Killie were a big physical side. If we'd been playing a side more like hibs we'd have had a better chance. Didn't help that having had problems in the first game we didnt change our tactics at all and kept on punting the ball in the air which suited them to a tee. If the Aird rumours are true then it certainly shows up Houstons signing of Kidd even more. Surely he was signed to be the starting rb/wingback?
  23. McGrandles at his best would be an excellent addition to our midfield now. He has the legs to go box to box and would be a good partner for Kerr. However, I've no idea what kind of shape he is currently in and at the moment another central mid would be a luxury compared to a right sided mid. I'd like to see Houston trying to get Loy to come back next season. He's only 28 so would be a decent replacement for Baird.
