  1. Cant see Hughes ever coming back after the way he left. He fell our with just about everyone before he jumped ship.
  2. I'm just being honest mate. Its not a good draw unless Beith manage to shock Morton and then its an interesting day out. Another trip to Greenock doesnt fill me full of excitement.
  3. Pretty poor draw as its more likely to be away in greenock. Tough tie and a shit crowd means nae extra cash if you get pumped.
  4. I certainly wouldn't recommend moving to a new stadium that you don't own backed up by my own teams experience and that's with us still owning 50% of the current set up.
  5. At the AGM Houston stated that he expects Tony Gallacher to be our starting left back by the end of the season. I reckon if we were to fall off the pace in the play off race you'd see a lot of youngsters getting a bit more first team experience . To give him his due a lot of the young players that would be getting a game just now have been sold from under him. The likes of Blair, Biabi and McGrandles would all be in the current squad if not first team. When you start to flog players before they even get much of a game in your first team then it means your next set of players to come through are getting younger and younger. Ideally your youngsters coming through should be getting at least two or three years in the first team before moving on and then the next set of youngsters are ready to move up. Unfortunately our bod's policy of flogging the family silver to the first bidder has meant this hasn't happened.
  6. Well it was reported that the evidence was submitted on Tuesday and then the appeal pulled on Wednesday. And surely there would be no need for it to be so hush hush in that case. Surely we'd also have a good look at the video evidence available between the Saturday and the Monday when we told the league and all our shareholders that we would be appealing. The challenge was nowhere near as bad as the one mckinnons got off with when he nearly broke mark kerrs shin in two.
  7. Surely having looked at the evidence and then submitted it they must've thought that we had a decent case. What has happened to change their mind must be more than Beaton getting given the cup final. A quite amazing decision considering his recent failure to give a clear goal in the Dundee v motherwell game. I wonder if somebody has made a cock up here and either forgotten to submit the evidence in time or submitted the wrong evidence. Why else would we be keeping the reason for Withdrawal under wraps.
  8. Has anyone managed to find out the real story behind the Taiwo appeal withdrawal farce yet?
  9. If that's the case then they certainly didn't show any sign of it at AGM. Money being put away every season to pay for renewing pitch when required in a few years time and Houston was praised for the teams performances last season.
  10. Herald says we submitted the evidence on Tuesday etc. Can't see what has made them change their mind a day later. I also can't see why everything's so hush hush regarding the reason for withdrawing. It would appear that everything to do with our club is a secret these days.
  11. Surely not. He'll still have the suspension points held against him which could cause problems further down the line.
  12. What's the story Re Taiwo appeal. At AGM Houston said appeal had been submitted and now for some reason it's been withdrawn. Cynic in me would say that it was originally submitted to placate questions at AGM and then withdrawn to save a few quid. All in all it sums up how big a shambles things seem to be behind the scenes at present. The story on the website highlights the complete lack of transparency at the club. We as fans, share holders etc are not even being given a reason for the withdrawal even after the manager has insisted at the AGM that we will be putting in an appeal. We will now be playing an extremely important game missing an important game. Again on field matters are at the back of the queue when it comes to our club.
  13. Was it not more to do with the police and numbers that meant you had to buy a separate ticket for the bar on top of one for the west stand? I'd like to think we'd checked with them first to ensure that won't be the case this time around.
  14. Yeah its going to be in the south stand. They need to do away with the all ticket fiasco which blighted the last one. Having to buy a ticket for the game and then another ticket for a public bar was farcical.
  15. No but we've got another pub opening before the start of next season. Can only hope they run this one better than the one in the West stand.
  16. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-37972141 Perhaps has something to do with it!
  17. What a lot of pish he talks. Only last night his chairman was talking about league reconstruction being the way forward to get more teams playing youngsters. The likes of Rangers currently have no chance of winning the league and they wont go down so have every opportunity to bleed youngsters for future seasons instead of past it players like Clint Hill. Its the managers fault their not doing that and not lower league clubs. I think Alex is having a major senior moment here.
  18. Mind you at least queens bod have the excuse of having to finance a promotion push on crowds of 1500 or thereabouts.
  19. Lesser teams I would've thought would be anyone with a smaller budget than us which I would think would be everyone apart from DU and Hibs. 3rd place should be our minimum position. Anything more is a bonus although we should be at least giving DU a fight for second place as their no great shakes. Hibs should really be walking this league even though their in my opinion not as good a side as last season. We arent a patch on last season and DU arent anywhere near as good as Rangers were last season. Plus they dont have a diddy as their manager.
  20. When you see the refereeing incidents at Ross County and Dundee at the weekend it sums up the standard of refereeing up here to a tee.
  21. You only have to have part of your feet on the touchline when you throw it but both feet must be touching the ground. Some of the throw ins you see these days are ridiculous especially when watching football from abroad. Sometimes you wonder if the guy could throw it through his legs and still get away with it.
  22. I guess he's got hee haw chance of a game then at Wembley as he wouldnae surely be playing two games on the bounce.
  23. I notice that Rogers is one of 5 goalkeepers in the ROI provisional squad. Hopefully he'll get overlooked for the final squad so that he can play against Hibs on the 12th. Mcginn has been called up for Hibs which will make him unavailable which is a bonus.
  24. I'd like to see Shepherd given a wee chance up front. He plays there for the u20s and does very well. Every time he turns out for the first team though its as a wide right player.
  25. This is our 7th season down here though and can anyone say we're any closer to getting out of this league? Yes you'd be lucky to replace Vaulks with as good a player but surely whoever's replacing his wages should be good enough to start each week and not a bench warmer. With Taiwo, Kerr and Henderson signed was there really the need for another central midfielder especially one like Rankin? Hippo apart we lack pace throughout the side so why not look for someone with a bit of trickery and pace. Christ I'd rather have the likes of Bobby Barr over Craigen or Taiwo wide right. To me none of Houstons signings have improved that area in the first team. Kidd is no better than Muirhead,Taiwo is preferred wide right to Craigen which says it all about him and Rankin can't get a game most weeks as Kerr is Houston's preferred starter. If these signings had been far better we perhaps wouldnt have noticed the void left by Vaulks and Alston but because they've been so poor we're missing them even more than perhaps we should.
