  1. The number of games hes now able to play per season would say that his injuries have now caught up with him and hes unable to play week in week out at a decent level. ie he's done.
  2. He's been made of chocolate since he left Hibs. He's also a red card wating to happen. Mind him getting wound up by our midfield every time we played hibs when he was there and him constantly losing the plot.
  3. To be honest I'm more disappointed that Loy doesn't seem to be getting a game for Dundee as to me hes a quality player that also runs his arse off for you for 90 mins. Unfortunately he seems to have become very injury prone since he picked up a bad one at Queens in the cup last season. Baird and Kerr both have their limitations but in the championship you need guys that have been over the course before. And the quality this season is far better than it was when Dundee scraped over the line a couple of years back. That team would be mid table in this years competition at best.
  4. I would think hes chosen us over Dundee as we have a proven track record of giving young players a chance in the first team. Looking at the current Dundee side how many first team regulars have come through their youth ranks? Kerr gets a game here and there but that's about it.
  5. If Bowman isn't seen as good enough to play second fiddle then surely we should be punting him instead of sending him out on loan.
  6. Does this mean we now have 4 keepers on the books? Bit excessive for a club our size no?
  7. Surely would be a good option to have though. Sometimes if plan a isnt working you need something different on the bench. A decent winger would be a good addition in my mind.
  8. The arse theyve made of this would put me off any future loan deals with them.
  9. Houston should tell them to feck off. At the end of the day theyve screwed up big time by allowing us to sign up rogers before tying up ward. Houston should only be concerned about the situation at falkirk and not about pissing a few folk off in aberdeen.
  10. Timing couldnt be worse if true. Two huge games this week so the last thing we need is a new keeper between the sticks. Not great planning and a lesson for any future deals.
  11. Aberdeen really should've got something signed and sealed with Liverpool before giving us the okay although the same also applies to us before we announced he was staying. Of course that may be the case fingers crossed.
  12. Bit embarrassing if we do lose him after telling all and sundry that aberdeen had allowed us to keep him. We should be making sure everythings signed and sealed before releasing anything. Hopefully that has been the case anyway. Yes there will be other keepers out there but with rogers you know what your getting and he has now got a decent relationship with the rest of the defence after a rocky start. A new keeper has to start all that again. From now on though we should either be signing our own keeper or making sure we have someone on loan for a full season with no recall option. Surely we mustve had a sell on clause in wallaces contract. If not then youve really got to ask questions on who deals with our transfers. Scunthorpe say it was for an undisclosed fee which would leave us due something surely.
  13. Jordan Whites another one to add to the list of reasons not to pay transfer fees.
  14. It's a big gamble paying that sort of money on someone totally untried at a decent level. These days with the number of free agents floating about there really isn't any need for us to pay a transfer fee. I think Jonny Flynn was the last player we paid for.
  15. I just don't see what McGrandles gets out of a loan deal with us. Okay first team football but I would have thought he could get that at a higher level then Scottish championship on loan elsewhere and that's surely what he needs. I hope I'm wrong though.
  16. We badly need options from the bench. Smith again showed on saturday that he is woeful and cooper is no better. We also struggle to create if sibbald isnt on his game. Somebody who can beat a man and get a decent ball in to the box(everything smith cant do ) would add an extra dimension to the side.
  17. Was a decent player when last in scotland and has scored a fair few goals in australia and the far east. Might be worth a punt.
  18. Glad theyve got that tied up. Hes had the odd shocker but has certainly improved as the season has progressed. Only downside could be irish u21 callups.
  19. It still amazes me that bowmans at the club given his off the field fuckups. Unlike rae etc his performances on the park dont make up for it. I'd like to see us sign a guy with a bit of pace to add nch to the options we have. If like saturday the likes of sibbald is struggling then pace off the bench could make a difference. The likes of smith and cooper dont bring much to the party unfortunately.
  20. Have you actually met Houston or is this just from an ill informed impression of him on the TV. He's a pretty decent bloke to be honest and great on a night out. I must add that James Fowlers kids are at the same school/nursery as mine and he's a thoroughly decent bloke too who enjoys talking about fitba with anyone.
  21. Worth it if you ask me as even in the playoffs you'd fancy our chances against either of the top two over two legs and the likes of killie. Time to pay the manager and fans back and sign us a couple of decent players that would make all the difference.
  22. Footballs got feck all to do with passports though at the end of the day. Can you imagine the furore that would be raised if FIFA allowed anyone from the UK to choose which of the 4 nations they wanted to play for no matter whether they had any eligibility through residence or relations. That's basically the same thing as their getting away with . Wales are doing well just now I think I fancy playing for them and getting to play in a euros.
  23. I don't think its a good thing that players from the North can play for the south and vice versa. For a start football should not be political and it can only weaken the Northern Irish team which is already struggling for quality players. As long as theyare both separate countries( and I couldn't give a feck either way) then they should face the same eligibility rules as any other country. Why should the rules for them be any different than for others.
  24. You never came across to me certainly as being bitter Skyline just playing devils advocate a wee bit. I would think you'd probably agree though that for 14 years work and a decent amount of cash the return our of the highland academy just hasn't been good enough even if you take into acccount their location. Whether this is down to the coaching available or them simply not being given a chance by the clubs themselves I'm not entirely sure.
  25. At the end of the day you can have the best academy on the planet but you've got to have boards and managers in post willing to give the young players a go or your just pissing money down the drain. It certainly helped us out a hole when we were struggling financially but it also pushed us into playing young players as we couldn't afford any more experienced ones. The likes of ICT and Ross County aren't being pushed to play youngsters as they've both got financial backers who are willing to finance experienced teams in the top flight. RC for instance just go out and sign squads of new players every time they get into a spot of bother. They pick up numerous journeymen from down south and this keeps them in the top flight but doesn't do anything to bring through young talent. Apart from the lad Dingwall theres been very few others break into the first team and its the same with Christie at ICT. At some point you would hope that the SFA would start to wonder where the cash grants that they are giving the highland academy are actually going as there's hee haw evidence that its on producing young players.
