If you are looking for an about the town car, buy a petrol.
Many diesels have diesel particulate filters in-line in the exhaust to trap soot and they often get blocked in town / city driving situations
You then have to take the car a blast up the Motorway or drive at 4,000 RPM or so to regenerate the filter (bake off the soot).
Pain in the erse.

Not heard much from this band:
That was the bands first top 40 hit which entered the chart at no. 35 in July 1989.
Their biggest hit was in the summer of 1994 a cover of the Cameo song 'Word Up'
Live vocal performance of that on the link below:

Some experts think it was the tail rotor that failed.
If the tail rotor fails in a helicopter it is bad news as the helicopter would normally spin out of control if the main rotor is still turning. Pilot appeared to have cut the fuel supply to the two engines.

The pilots name is in the paper and all over the news this morning. 51 year old David Trail
Former RAF pilot from Stenhousemuir with a 20 year career in the RAF.
He was an accomplished Chinook pilot.
R.I.P.

Looks like the pilot prevented a bigger tragedy by turning off the fuel supply to the engines preventing a fire on impact.

Is it the same helicopter for all of Scotland?
Indeed so, it was G-SPAO, Eurocopter EC135 T2+

Pawnbrokers, bookies, payday loan shops...the hight street is in decline. The rise of the Internet from the mid 1990's onwards, and therefore much more online shopping, together with aircraft hangar sized supermarkets (now selling many more items than in the past) is the main reason I think.

As much as it is a shithole, Ecclefechan can hardly be described as a town. It's a couple of streets with a hotel, post office and a church.
Indeed, it's actually a village population around 800.

Wednesday 25 Aug 1971 was the last Morton win at Celtic Park, also in the League Cup when it was in the group stage format. The score was the same 0-1.
This song was no. 3 in the charts:

Also in August 1971, the first men to drive on The Moon returned to Earth. Their Lunar Rover is still up there (along with another 2 from later missions)

I recently bought all the first eight series on DVD for not that much:
I've got Red Dwarf X on Blu Ray and also the 'Return to Earth' on Blu Ray which is series 9 even though it was only broadcast as three episodes.
Interesting to see when each episode was first broadcast:

BP Ultimate fuel is defo better than supermarket fuel. It has a higher octane & cetane rating and I think it makes your engine run smoother with better acceleration.
Does cost a little more though than regular stuff.
Worth it I think.
