I think you're all missing what I mean somewhat, which perhaps I should rephrase. Working on the assumption that there should be a fair whack of Leninists in RISE, the idea should be to use the elections to propagandise and to communicate a minimum programme, rather than merely getting somebody elected.The problem with RISE is that it's no doubt going to collapse after May, rather than using the election to agitate and built a class-based movement, which they should really be doing.

Bizarre point to pick on considering free public transport has been a mainstay of the Scottish left's policy since the days of the Scottish Socialist Alliance. If my memory serves it's been part of every SSP manifesto since 1999. It also exists in Tallinn, for example. Regardless public transport in Scotland is pretty shocking and should be further subsidised by the state.

Absolutely, and I doubt that it will. Not everyone in the SSP camp was happy with the alliance - I'm not privy to the internal discussions in the party but I've seen, hilariously, the word 'Stalinist' banded around a few times - and there's been some old members taking to social media and blogs in protest. A vast majority of these sort of alliances that are allegedly 'movements' that I've been a part of, right down to even student politics, have fractured after elections. The usual cycle of soul searching followed by yet another electoral campaign outfit will surely occur.
