Is the assumption that no promotion to league 2 then, Brechin safe. Kelty and Brora are hoping for reconstruction, which isn't going to happen

Nobody suggesting this needs to be played now, but is there an intention to play one. If not i suspect that Kelty will remain in LL next season

I dont have beef with the clubs, i am delighted that 3 will be in scottish cup next year, point bs and auldheid are making is it puts these clubs at a whopping advantage.

I can fully appreciate teams like Broxburn getting these facilities which are widely used and available to wider community, but the midlothian teams mentioned are grass pitches, which are infrequently used and not available to be used by public, while now looking to close down a widely used 3g facility.

Point being made is that council spunked huge sums of money on floodlights at these grounds which are for the benefit of the teams involved- not the wider community. Yet midlothian council is looking to shut 3g at poltonhall as it cant afford to replace the surface, Poltonhall is used by community, not like the other grounds mentioned.

The ground improvements at ndp in the last few years have been very impressive. A new changing facility, corporate lounge, terracing amongst many others. Well in excess of 100k spent, if floodlights had been a requirement before application had started, they would have been installed by now. I also look at list of teams who have floodlights and notice most have had them paid for by local authority (wee rose an obvious exception) unfortunately as Rose own the ground, this isnt an option

Problem is that juniors are looking to join the seniors pyramid, not the other way round.

Playing football every week on grass that isn't growing isn't a great help for the pitch. There are 4 months of the year where it is possible to make use of light nights for midweek fixtures and we don't play in 2 of them. Make use of teams with floodlights- Bonnyrigg late last season had a fixture pile up, were still to play Penicuik, Broxburn and Kelty away from home, these games could have been played midweek under lights from feb- mid april. The former 2 were played midweek april- may. Bonnyrigg finished last season on 10th june. Preseason started the 1st July. Players got 3 weeks off. Reality is players are taking holidays throughout the season and teams have to cope with that. I would think most people take more than just a summer holiday now as well. A season starting 1st march and finishing end of October would have 35 Saturdays and 18 potential midweeks- Last season Bonnyrigg played 15 midweek games I would agree that summer football is not ideal. The existing set up of playing near 11 months of the year needs looking at. Any options need consideration.

I think you are reading too much into this statement. When Bonnyrigg were looking to get their licence approx. 18 months ago, the thinking was that they would be able to stay in the juniors set-up, similar to Lithgae. Moving to eos wasn't on the cards regardless of promotion to lowland league or not.
