Sadiq Khan in danger in London?

I’d be surprised. The Tory candidate is a bombscare and I’d presume only got the nod because no bigger fish wanted to get humped. Although I have read that her record as a councillor and in the London Assembly is somewhat decent and her campaign - which has gone for the absolute lowest common denominator - might have been dictated to her from on high. Possible effort to see how Reform-ish they could go? Could be jettisoned now if Reform continue to do as pishly as they have when all the results are in.

Back to getting this shitty tearing or whatever it is, no matter what browser I use now. Only seems to be on this site which is pretty weird, but guessing it's got to be some setting/compatability issue with my phone.

Fine on homepage and when I click on a specific thread, only happens when browsing to select topics within individual forums eg Premiership, Gen Nonsense etc. More rage inducing than petty tbqhwy when you're a technophobe auld duffer like me.

Site won’t load for me on Chrome at all (as of about 2 weeks ago). I can get it to work using Firefox, or weirdly, on Chrome if I set it to private browsing.

This video is patter straight from the Scottish Family Party

Stumbled upon some Twitter dialogue between Niall Fraser and Jum Spence yesterday; not sure if proof that Jim’s head is now entirely composed of banana or maybe just some solidarity of the catastrophically ginger.

Swinney is catastrophically bald and has a ministerial track record to boot. He's better than Humza but it shows the real dearth of political talent up here. A safe pair of hands until some of the SNP talent from Westminster can be redeployed following the GE.

As for the scaremongering about minority government. The SNP governed just fine from 2007 to 2011 as a very small minority government. It means compromise and working with the other parties. That isn't something to be feart of it may well improve things.

Dross is a significant step down from Annabel Goldie and there’s no point in trying to deal with him if you don’t have to. Sarwar’s ‘vote SLab so we can protect you from Kieth’ was fairly chilling in that he’s implying we need protection from Kieth - and let’s be real; in the case he doesn’t just do as he’s told then Jackie Baillie will be deployed to eat him.

So you had Humza on the phone to Regan on Sunday night or Monday morning still trying to do a deal to keep him in post. Meanwhile Sturgeon is briefing that he will resign. But she didn't have any influence on that decision.

Patrick Harvie..consistently on record saying that he wouldn't work with a Forbes led govt...but that had no influence in today's events

If I were Kate Forbes I’d likely rationalise that a cabinet position in a government that can function would stand me in better stead for the future than the leadership of one which couldn’t.

We got halfway to finding out with Jo Swinson.

On a personal level, I sparked a very  fancy beer (Half Acre Benthic) when the news filtered thru of her emptying; I'd be delighted to do the same for Kieth.

My scepticism stems from her being in the SNP from an early age and having very little life experience outside of politics. All very similar to the departing First Minister and even more so his predecessor (as she was also in law, slightly less briefly).

Probably rules out about 80% of politicians of all stripes these days then.

  8. I notice Swinney taking a lot of heat for his baldicity in the Humza thread, but I reckon if you measured the surface area of his entire bonce against Kate's forehead, it'd be neck and neck as to who's boasting the most exposed cranial skin.

There's nothing like a man who was shit at the job over 20 years ago to turn SNP fortunes around 🙂

Whoever gets the gig should tell the greenies to do one, they've proven themselves to be unreliable and shout fascist at anyone further right than Karl Marx. Get the Lib Dems on board 🙂

That’s probably a sensible move for the SNP, given the Lib Dems form for being eager to bend over and do as they’re told in coalitions.

It's undeniably interesting to watch them slowly try to push at the boundaries of acceptable behaviour. Many moons ago, I remember someone on here postulating that the war on the unemployed was just about lazy scroungers and benefit cheats, and their beloved Tories would use the money saved to increase allowances for people like the disabled, who were still mostly considered a class that people felt sympathy towards. Fast forward ten years and the disabled and even pensioners are now the enemy.

Once they're emptied, I wonder how long it'll be before yet another generation forgets the lesson that, with the Tories, there's no such thing as "just the tip". We're all getting fucked eventually.

Do we reckon the scoop that the mobility aid company that the vouchers can be spent with is owned by a massive Tory donor will be broken before the policy’s unveiled or a couple of days after?

    Right, no.

Fair. Maybe I’m hoping he watches the video of the seagull lifting the crisps out of the shop in Aberdeen, tries the same, and gets the shite kicked out of him by the shopkeeper.

6 year old Templeton is what I ordered. Was only 21 quid. If i'm being honest, I just pretty much picked the first Rye I seen and threw it in there since I was ordering and paying delivery anyway

Oh that's fine; I thought it'd have been more expensive than that in the UK. Even the 4YO wouldn't owe you anything at 20 quid TBF.

Coincidentally I just finished my bottle of Bulleit Rye tonight along with a Wild Turkey 101 and a Tomatin 14 Port Cask. There was only a dram left in each and as I'm moving soon I can't take my collection with me.

A rye whisky is a pleasurable experience although have always meant to try Templeton since it seeing it mentioned in Harry Bosch books but never got round to it. I'll look forward to a review please.

If it’s the 4YO Templeton I’d take Bulleit Rye over it; too sweet for me.

    Avoid Chicago.

Comiskey Park has a red line station and the wee guys selling shoplifted items on the train usually start appearing around Chinatown so it’s entirely possible to get white socks going to the White Sox.
