  1. Pragmatism is king for a club like saints. mcinnes got it, wright got it, Lomas got it to a degree too. I thought we would get that with Levein but he's essentially brought in Callum Davidson junior as an assistant manager and allowed him to pick the team/shape. Just give me an old school manager who doesn't talk about transitions and I'll be happy.
  2. Love it. If we can get back to being St Johnstone again that would be lovely. Hopefully the inbound owner and casting the entire out of contract list into the sea (other than a couple of kids who can be part of the revolution) and we can get back to going to places like Tynecastle, Easter Road etc with a quiet sense of confidence and not dreading a horsing.
  3. Leave it to Geoff Brown to find the American Geoff Brown. Buzzing for another trophy haul in 10 years time.
  4. And Connor Smith is a downgraded Matt Smith. How we've ended up with so many nothing footballers is quite an achievement, stemming 3 managers now as well.
  5. We're still sitting in 10th and gotten the best of the bottom 6 out of the way, whilst Ross County have just been beaten off the worst. Probably boding slightly better, especially as County didn't capitalise on beating Rangers. I'm fairly certain we're going to finish 11th for the record. That today was fairly conclusive evidence that our shower of shitebags have completely downed tools and we've got 3 away games out of 4 left. I think we'll go into the game against County in 11th and then fail to win.
  6. Sooner the takeover happens and these players aren't at the club the better. Levein is a product of the lack of ambition and drop in standards which started under Davidson and allowed to continue because those running the club were either incompetent, didn't care, lost interest or all of the above. Horrific. Worst bit about today, I just didn't really care. If we go down we deserve it, we've been circling the drain for a while now and we need a fresh start in just about every aspect of the club.
  7. In fairness, we are the second worse team in the league. If we dodge 11th after 38 games I'll be very surprised.
  8. Reading the comments about Davidson is giving me cold sweats and traumatic flashbacks. Not surprised it's started to go south. Just wait until he's had a full summer to bring in his own squad.
  9. If he can beat Montrose in the play off semi final, that'll be the greatest achievement in his managerial career, or it will be according to him. Here's hoping he's found out - again.
  10. At this point I don't really care what league we're in (unless us getting relegated stops the take over from happening). Just get to the end of the season and get this squad so far to f**k. Wouldn't be sad to see the back of any of them.
  11. Certainly would've taken a 13 point advantage on the team sitting bottom and 4 point gap on 11th with 6 games left (and the team in 11th having to play Rangers before the split) if I'd been offered that when Maclean was sacked. Any other season I think we'd still be marooned but Livingston winning 3 matches all season has done us a massive solid.
  12. Given we've got 3 away games post split, maybe not a bad thing.
  13. This sale feels like as good a time as any to take leave of St Johnstone and to start following Jeanfield. I'd be disappointed if they signed Cammy MacPherson never mind Saints. Perma crock passenger.
  14. I think we have to play Clark so one of Sidibeh and Kimpioka will be on the bench. I would've said Kimpioka was better until Saturday, the first time - outside of the odd flash - that Sidibeh has looked up to the task for me. Certainly think he's earned the right to start the next game.
  15. Like we'd get planning for a bungalow at the Oudenarde. My view on the manager/situation hasn't really changed tbh. We know what he is and what his remit is. It's been pretty awful to watch (Saturday was slightly better) and the points have dried up so think it's only natural people start to question why he's still there. Regardless of what league we're in, next season already looks like a bit of a slog. It's pretty clear there's a big clear out coming and the manager - whether it's Levein, Kirk or someone else - has a huge job on his hands. Then there's the ownership situation. Hopefully it's resolved before the season ends as it's pretty clear that's a big reason the club is circling the drain. It's actually painful how lethargic and laboured everything is, both on and off the pitch. Feel like the new media guys are trying to put out good interviews etc, probably the one aspect of the club that is moving forward right now, and they can only piss with the cock they've got, but an interview with marks that I don't really like as footballers and will be away in the summer is just of no interest to me.
  16. Let's just stop beating about the bush and bring King Thomas home.
  17. Id want Dundee to stay/go up. No offence meant by this, but there's a much higher chance that Dundee would be in the shit the following season than Aberdeen and the smaller clubs in the league should be looking for as many potential buffers as possible. If we do stay up this season as an example, there won't be many teams you can look at and think they'll definitely be down there next season. Killie are flying and have a good manager, can't see St Mirren or Dundee collapsing (which I appreciate flies in the face of what I said above) to that extent, no Livi (most likely), potentially no County and no doubt United would spend if they came up. You're left with Motherwell and whoever wins the play offs, and Motherwell have been permanent fixture in the top flight for as long as I remember. Not easy, unless our new owner decides to throw money about like there's no tomorrow.
  18. Can really feel the Derby fever in this thread, Dundee fans clearly buzzing for their big day out in Perth.
  19. Probably not doing anything to help the Perth yokel reputation, but that's right on my playlist. What a tune
  20. Not remotely arsed about Dan Phillips leaving to be honest. He's ok and suspect we'll miss him on the park, but I think that's a reflection of just how poor we now are rather than how impactful he's been. He wouldn't have gotten into the squad of the 2014 cup winning team, and probably not ahead of the dads army midfield in the double winning squad either. He's one of our best and quite evidently a bottom 6 player, sums it up quite nicely.
