  1. Ferguson is the outfield captain, thats pretty clear whether he has the armband or not. It was the same with shinnie, theyre that sort of personality who just will not accept a lack of effort from themselves. Whether the rest of the team can use that energy is down to them, and down to McInnes.
  2. I actually thought Campbell was one of the better players last night. I cant tell if he was given more space by a tiring midfield, or if he made the space himself. his passing was nice from the base of the midfield. Makes me wonder if we play a flat 4-3-3 with Campbell, McCrorie and Ferguson, does that give us more control in these games? Two of our many wingers flanking hornby or hendry (who I was also quite impressed with). Nae clue though. I struggle with just watching the games on the telly.
  3. We started yesterday (and Saturday) with a 4-4-1-1, which worked reasonably well in the first game and was torn to shreds last night. It wasnt until we went 3-5-2 that we got a foothold in the game, but still created very little. Im not sure what the answer is. I think for as bad as we were last night, Livi were very good first half. I know Celtic are gubbins at the moment, but their players are better technically than ours and they struggle with the Livi press. hibs this weekend is a massive game.
  4. The captain issue is a bit of a red herring in my eyes. As someone said above, the role is basically symbolic with a bit of administration attached to it. A team needs leaders in every area of the pitch. If your captain is a centre half, does that really any more of an effect on a striker? FWIW I thought Ferguson was actually very good last night, and played a "captains role", really trying to drive the team forward. Unfortunately, the rest of the team seemed to take no notice. Thats more worrying to me than Lewis making one howler. hes certainly not having his best season, but there are bigger problems with the team. I dont think its any coincidence that we lost hedges and didnt look like creating last night. hes one of the few players in our squad who has a brilliant attitude and keeps going no matter what, certainly not something youd have thought about him last season. McCrorie needs to step up in his role alongside Ferguson. Considine needs to be more vocal, especially when hoban looks like hes having a wobble next to him. hayes needs to do the same in the forward areas. I hope McInnes is erally taking a long hard look at that team, and their limitations going into a really key period of the season.
  5. As much as we are hopeless, incredibly hopeless, Livi are very very impressive. Ive not seen a team as in our faces as Livi have been tonight. Lawson and Pittman have been everywhere, but its literally every single player. Our team have no options, or certainly no easy ones. And this is with you losing two players in the warm up! ATS is playing centre half ffs!! Martindale has done a ludicrous job there. Ferguson the only one anywhere near on it, but holt is kicking him out the game like the *** rat he is. The only way is up, I suppose.
  6. I would love to play hoofball! We play slow, unpenetrative passing football between defence and midfield.
  7. That would be great if we did. Possibly could still start with McLennan up top again and bring hornby or hendry off the bench second 45. Actually excited for this one now! Itll last about 5 minutes into the game right enough.
  8. Scott Wright - *** f**k, it is confirmed. Ross McCrorie - rehabilitated. I ken who I’d rather have in my team.
  9. Club teasing the McCrorie news so I’d say it’s incoming
  10. Thank you RG, just glad to pip Hearts at the post. They’d have fuckin had it in their trophy cabinet.
  11. Happy days! That’s a really surprising turn of events, but pleasing nonetheless. Three strikers, all 25 or under, all big lads, but no complete huddies, and all with something slightly different to offer. Very exciting to see how we set up now. Hopefully see at least one of them tomorrow!
  12. hendry is an upgrade on Main, if he goes hornby should be an upgrade on Cosgrove, at least in terms of effort and energy Kamberi would be a decent replacement for Watkins Anderson to Accies would be the end of him here. Shame, and I wish him the best, but there are shades of Cammy Smith about him. If they all come in. Knowing us, it will be just hendry, with both Main and Anderson leaving, and well be screwed.
  13. Kamberi eh, thats certainly an interesting choice, and much more like a replacement for Watkins in terms of style. If we get hornby too, that allows us to have various options up top. Looking forward to seeing how this works for sure.
  14. Cosgrove has been ace for us over the piece, but it was the right time to go, and certainly appears to be the right price. Main has offered about as much as Cosgrove this year, so were not much worse off, and if we can get in another option then we should be strengthened. hope he fucks the championship up
  15. My memory of Quinn was that he was incredibly vocal in the home Rijeka game. I was in the Main Stand that game (nae idea why like) and all you could hear was him constantly telling the rest of the defence where to be. I was quite impressed for someone so new to the club to be giving out orders like that, and generally thought he was ok. The Celtic goal for us wasnt even the best goal them he scored that season, pretty sure he got the winner for County in the LC semi after he went back there! Decent player, certainly doesnt deserve to be filed under Callum Morris.
  16. can McInnes please try playing Mcginn through the middle just ONCE if Cosgroves away?
  17. I tend to use that one for the more minor infractions in my life, like if a friend orders a half pint or I get "asked" to do the washing up by my partner.
  18. Keeping Wright is a much more viable option this year with no fans in the ground. his position in the would be untenable if he signed with them and was getting booed week in week out (by me).
  19. he was definitely keen on Craig Slater who broke through around the same time. Regularly spotted at hampden these days, although unfortunately its because he plays for Queens Park. And not very often.
  20. Surely you can see how effective hes been this year despite not racking up great numbers? Take our equalising penalty v Celtic as an example, without him bursting past three players and sliding it through to hedges, we dont get into that position. This wont show up on goal/assist stats but it was the most difficult component in the attack. he brings an x factor which is so hard to defend against and looks to be improving all the time. having said all that, a move to the **** is stupid as hes not better than Kent/Arfield/Aribo/hagi/Roofe/Morelos and therefore gets nowhere near their team. It also means hes a ***, which renders him unable to have a peaceful drink in his home city, which is nice for him I suppose. he will be a massive miss for us, but if we can get some cash for him, we could maybe get Watkins back (if fit) or someone else who fits the mould of a technical attacker who can break down a banked defence.
