  1. Jordan Jones is an ok player but hes no replacement for Wright, purely on style alone. hes a pace merchant, fast and direct, who needs space to run into. Wright can do a bit of that, but the reason hes been so impressive for us this year has been because hes able to break down a banked defence by playing through them. Theres a reason Jones hasnt ever looked even close to breaking into their team. To be honest, theres noone who would realistically come to us that Id take from their squad. Take the cash, spend it elsewhere. We can do better than what theyve got.
  2. Everybody on the planet is in a pretty good position to turn down an offer from those fuckin ghouls. Scum of the fuckin earth.
  3. Dean Campbell has been better this year I think, but whoever said it above is right - he isnt suited to a midfield two, and very few players are. It only works with McCrorie and Ferguson. I like Deano and it is always good to have Dandies in the team. Scott Wright can gtf if he thinks he can sit on our wage bill and recover from two serious injuries, be given chance after chance in our team without delivering (Partick Thistle x2 aside), and after showing eight weeks of decent form leave us on a free to the fucking ****. f**k so far to f**k off. greg Stewart can, as always, go f**k himself in his fat fuckin ass. A chubby loser who should not ever be back here.
  4. Big Jon was terrific value for my fantasy football team early doors, clean sheets and goals all over the shop.
  5. Especially given this season weve got 2 extra subs - a wily manager will use that to their advantage in an attacking sense
  6. Im considerably more excited by us stockpiling wingers than when we decided to stockpile centre mids a while back so Im pro gMS on that count.
  7. Thinking about it, McLean is a poor fit for this formation. He’s terrific but he needs to be in a 3. Jack and Shinnie perfectly complemented him in the 4-3-3.
  8. Lewis Reynolds Taylor Considine Logan Shinnie Jack Hayes McGinn Maddison Rooney something like that? Would have been decent like
  9. Aye we had a weird 4-1-4-1 with Jack sitting, Hayes and Pawlett through the middle and Rooney out wide with Goodwillie up top which was really exciting in around 2015, I mind a good win over Dundee at Dens where it looked good. McInnes can do it, he just needs to fight his natural urge to be cautious. Hopefully in Jan he recognises this and signs a forward who can get us back to where we were a couple of months ago. Celtic are there for the taking this year, second would be a massive achievement and I hope Cormack and the rest of the leadership recognise that. Brophy looked shit hot under Clarke in a good system, he could be the man. If we can get Watkins back even better. I still hold out hope of Cosgrove wising up and fitting in up top as he’s better technically than folk give him credit for, but on recent showings he has checked out. Sad because we’re getting nowhere near the 2 mil offered (and accepted) if we try to sell now.
  10. We don’t need more crosses. We need better crosses and better attackers. I actually thought we played very well first half, got plenty of decent crosses in, and worked a couple of good openings. Hedges has been terrific all season and he was very good again today. For him to end up playing RWB in order to shoehorn in both Cosgrove and Main/Edmundson is criminal from McInnes. It’s clear that he’s most effective up the pitch and as centrally as possible. Wright offered a little once he came on, but didn’t look sharp. McGinn was ok first half too, but summed it up when he managed to get into the box second half and duly fell over instead of crossing. Maybe this is what McInnes was talking about. The good thing we can take from this is that defensively we are still very solid. Taylor has been excellent for the majority of the season and Considine and Hoban offer a good balance. Kennedy baffles me going forward, what sort of a player is he?! But defensively him and Hayes do well at breaking up attacks up the park. Ferguson good defensively today, but disappointing going forward, as well as McCrorie who was very poor. I’m reasonably happy that we don’t look like we need a massive overhaul to start doing well, but I’m pissed off that we’ve had a lot of opportunities to pick up easy points and thrown them away. Second really isn’t out of our reach this season, but games like this mean we’ll really struggle.
  11. A full swap of all our strikers would be really good, if possible. The fact that we’ve got Main, Cosgrove and Edmundson who are all pretty much the same player, to varying degrees of shite/arsed, means in games like today we are incapable of shaking it up. Stewart means we retain a bit of physicality and Brophy is more of a nippy attacker who can get in behind. He’s a decent talent who I think could do well for us.
  12. A better striker than Main and we win that match. So fucking infuriating.
  13. Derek Stillie decided that after his playing career ended, not enough people hated his fucking guts. that’s why he’s now a Tory c**t https://www.thenational.scot/news/18016605.ex-goalkeeper-derek-stillie-named-tory-candidate-central-ayrshire/
  14. Cadden would be a decent wingback in this system, gms decent as part of the front three. Would take them both.
  15. fwiw I am all aboard the Stevie May silverware express and fully back our brothers in arms St Johnstone to lift the third biggest trophy in world football (behind the European Cup Winners Cup in second and of course the daddy of them all, the European Super Cup in first). It would be terrific to see a true hibsing on a big stage. It has been a while, and that patter well and truly ran its course in 2016, but it would be nice for it to get a wee revival.
  16. I must say, St Mirren beating the **** last night makes me feel a little better about our latest results v them. We were unlucky to come up against a team just finding form when we had so many players out. I think the perception of St Mirren now is much more favourable than when we played them in the cup. The flip side is obviously, I am FURIOUS that hibs now find themselves in the semi final of an OF-less cup, something that weve just not had in the last few seasons. Even when we beat the **** (which we did twice in one season, both in glasgow, lest we forget) we end up having to play Celtic. Envy isnt a good look on me.
  17. its been a shite month, but we were looking good beforehand. McInnes big problem has been a failure to recognise the fact that the system we were playing only worked due to the specific playes we had. You need two special midfielders to get away with playing a 2 in this league. McCrorie and Ferguson could essentially do the job of three players, Ojo and Leigh/Campbell cannot. The front three of hedges Watkins and Wright were so dynamic and interchangeable up top. You can put one "big man" in there, but two just isolates the creative option and starves us of movement and pressing ability. So many of our goals came from winning the ball high up the park. Cosgrove and Main/Edmundson together dont offer that, so we let teams come onto us and when we win it back we have to play through 9 or 10 players who are banked up against us. Kennedy and particularly hayes were perfect wing backs in that system, because they have the engine to get up and down, the ability to break through the lines and offer an overlapping option to the forwards, and can cross well from deep. Without hayes in particular, our left flank has been both vulnerable AND toothless. Weve looked fine with one or two of these options out, but with the squad so decimated by injury/covid, McInnes needed to identify that a different, simpler shape was required. Back to basics stuff to get us through the matches, particularly yesterdays. he didnt do that and weve paid for it. Im actually angrier today after Celtic got papped out. Another issue has been a failure to get a tune from hernandez and integrate him properly into the team. Theoretically he should be perfect for the RWB role, but something is wrong there. Im hesitant to blame the player because when he has played, hes actually looked alright. McInnes could do with wising up, or at least providing some sort of explanation to the fans who could do with seeing some return from the 800k weve spent. having said all that, you wont catch me calling for his head. Im not old enough to know any better. As Bob says, history (Fergie aside) tells us that much better probably isnt possible. Someone without McInnes baggage could come in and get lucky, but equally McInnes could get lucky in the Scottish this season. Celtic could get knocked out by someone else, and we can beat Rangers on our day on a big occasion (albiet this is as good as this Rangers have ever been). I dont see an outstanding candidate out there, and I still dont see another non-OF club in Scotland who I would trade the last five years with, nor trade squads/managers with now. Im not #McInnesIN nor #McInnesOUT, I am #WISEUPMcInnes Confident that we can at least get Fergie and McCrorie back soon and we will look quite a bit better. The timing of that Covid case was rotten.
  18. very much this another point to add is that we were missing 8/9 players, four of which would definitely have started.
  19. that lineup is just four four fucking two isnt it? Lewis Logan hoban Taylor Considine Kennedy Ojo Leigh hedges Edmundson Cosgrove Fair play, back to basics, everyone in positions they know (Leigh aside) and two big lumps to try to bully the *** back line. this wont be pretty!! Come on you fucking reds!
