I’m not gonna go into the politics of whether it was right or wrong Houstie left, but boy do I miss the deal with it interviews. He had Hibernian fc in the palms of his hand for a full year and a half. They still hate us because of him. Glorious.
Can’t trust a thing they say in interviews Tbf. Every week it’s clean bill of health, apart from keena, we get to Saturday and Alston, gomis or someone is missing from the bench never mind the starting 11. Assume it’s a deliberate strategy, to keep other teams guessing?
Incredible we’re 4 points ahead in the league. Our general play and “best team” is a bit worse than last year’s, luckily there doesn’t seem to be a raith. Unless we lose next week, then I’ll be very worried
Have to vaguely agree with you, sadly. I don’t think we have earned the right to more money than an alloa, arbroath or QOS just because we are a “bigger” club (more Gate income, better infrastructure, typically bigger wage budget). What kind of message does that send out? That the SPFL will look after a “bigger” club even after they’ve stooped to a league below their level due to their own incompetence, and shaft “smaller” clubs in leagues above them? Not great!
I also don’t think there’s really a fair way of sharing the money. One idea would’ve been to look at clubs who really need the money to “survive” e.g Morton and make them prove they need it for that sole purpose. But then how far does that go? Maybe they need it to survive because they budgeted poorly and signed too many players? Should the grant just bail them out? Seems unfair on clubs who cut their cloth and did budget accordingly.
In the end, too, 150K is a lot of money to most teams in league 1. The fact that Partick and falkirk get a bit shafted is a by product of the fact we both shouldn’t be in this league.
19 games left seems so insanely short I had to double check it was actually right.
Given the platform we’ve given ourselves with the 6 point gap a shortened season can hopefully only help us
The management team have proved absolutely zilch. Cautious realism about the state of our team and club is not equivalent to never being happy. We are so so far below where a club of our size should be, it’ll take more than a scratchy win v peterhead and cove to convince me we’re on the up again. If I see signs of that in the next 3 games, I’ll be delighted
We’ve basically also only played the teams we smashed last season anyway.
We beat peterhead at home last season easily, twice. Forfar was comfortable all season, not so this season. East fife we beat 2-0 at home back in feb I think. Montrose we won 3/3 from. Dumbarton away performance was definitely impressive but they seemed injury ravaged. Cove at home was a decent showing, they’ll fade.
We toiled at Partick and could not have complained about being beat (remind you of any title challengers last season?)
Clyde and Airdrie were basically the reason we lost the league last season. If we get through those 2 games I’ll start to get excited
He said he hoped a couple of weeks but Cracks said after the game that he won't be brought back too quickly
Cheers Really think he could be the final clicking piece in our puzzle. He’d score a bucket load
Yeah not saying he’s terrible individually but as a wing back he’s definitely someone I’d be looking for Morrison to “get at” any day of the week at this stage of his career. Same with Gibson.
Would fancy us against this queen of the south team if worst came to worst and we were in a playoff. Buchanan Maxwell Willie fucking Gibson and some other diddy seems to be their back line. Jesus
We are not, but your point seems to suggest that any “shit” (eg our level) team can only be assertive and good to watch if they play 2 up top. That’s ludicrous
Ah yes, Liverpool and *checks notes* literally countless other top European clubs who use 1 up front and their notoriously passive, unadventurous square-ball football.
Not saying one up top is the answer. But if we did play it I really hope it’s not Sammon. He just looks so far away from ever scoring again tbh
As expected, weren’t embarrassed so let’s move on.
I think Mutch is a better keeper at this stage of their careers than Morrison. Would like to see him back in next week. He must be hungry to go
I mean we have a probably 1 in 40 chance, but if we somehow did win the quarter finals would be:
Alloa, Dunfermline, Livingston, St Johnstone, St mirren, Hibs, Ross county, Falkirk
What a laugh that would be
Enjoyed that interview with Bairdy, especially gasparotto being a fat b*****d and how he knew looking around the squad that season that we would be in trouble the following one.
He seemed to mention Cracks a lot as well in a positive light. Hopefully that’s translating to his management too
Pleaseeeee can the twitter admin be quiet just for one game. We almost definitely aren’t winning, their horrid gloating from their weird fans will be 10x worse if we start the “banter” with some 13 year olds
