I may have slightly addled memories of the union, given the cheapness of the drink, but it was always rammed in my early student days. Used to get some good acts in the Loft, spin-the-wheel night in Sivells (with the fantastic murals) was awesome. The rot set in when (this is just my opinion) the Students' Association stopped holding event there because (allegedly) they got backhanders from Liquid nighclub and other places. It then started to be randomly closed during the week, so you'd never know if you'd get in. Numbers just tailed off after that and it was shut within a year. There was that brief attempt at opening the place on Littlejohn Street, but that died a death as well. There's the old Central Refectory in Old Aberdeen that got done up into the Student Hub, apparently it has a bar, but it shuts at six!
Tbf you wouldn't think it's even a bar, it's where students get coffee, In the two years here I've not seen one person order a pint from "Union Brew". Atm the Bobbin is acting as the unofficial union.

Some students in conjunction with the uni are trying to get planning permission to renovate a derilct property into a student pub on the High St. It looks like it's going to get rejected due to some of the shite the NIMBYs have put on the the Council website.
"The University students will probably take up vandalism." was my personal favourite, considering the sentence previous was "It would mean that the St Machar Bar would lose customers"Those two statements completely contradict one another.

Being reminding of things from the 90s by an obese Yorkshireman must have more longevity than I thought.I think he'd sink - you seen the size of him.
Does anyone know the name of the girl in the TUI ad?0 -

It must be said @Marr1 ran a best and worst championship one last season which definitely trumped this one in terms of rythm and pacing.
Yeah my laptop broke halfway through the process haha, spent ages trying to recover files and that.
Certainly not doing it again this year.0 -

If it needs to be out of town wouldn't Portlethen have been a better location given it has a mainline railway station and it south of the city?
Think they originally went for Lorniston Loch which was in Cove halfway between Portlethen and Aberdeen. Don't know why they have to put the stadium and training facilities in the same place.

Expect to see Charles in his old RAF uniform on TV delivering the Christmas message ' This is not a coup just a change of direction'
Daily Mail/Vine on Radio 2 phone-in listeners are possibly the most racist group in the UK and you want them to talk to Robert 'Coming over here stealing our radio presenter jobs' Mugabe
So is Bolivia, Bolivia has a navy.
Bolivia is a different case though - they lost land that connected them to the coast in the war of 1836 to Chile and they've been in denial about ever since, even their flag still claims the land.
Talk about being petty.0 -
A lot of great shouts in here, big fan of the Railway stations mentioned, hopefully the new Dundee one will be class.

I've always wondered how entitled HL are to ask for additional requirements. Surely we should have a consistent requirements for every level of the pyramid regardless of geographical location.I think that's down to the extra games clubs in HL play - 34 instead of 30 - clubs need floodlights in the HL with the extra midweek games, not the case with the LL.

In the first photo I genuinely thought it was Reichstag for a second.
Been to Killie a few times, I was surprised at how nice it is, I always had a pre determined idea of Ayrshire towns but I was pleased to see that I was wrong.2
