It's a sort of gang attack now.
It's tricky though. People keep engaging with what I'm saying but what I'm saying isn't allowed to be of interest. Have a meeting and sort out a response.
A gang attack against stupidity. Don't Be Stupid, stupid.
God I've missed it on here.0 -
Don't you just hate it how much the 261 million Indonesians dominate World football?
It's ridiculously unfair on smaller countries , that why Iceland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Albania are shite at football.

Did you think it would be funny to post that same tiresome copy paste that's been all over the internet for about 2 month?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewers head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenevs Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

Not international but there's been talk of a new airline that's being set-up called Thistle Airways bringing back the Inverness to Edinburgh and Glasgow flights. Would be pretty pointless IMO unless it was pennies for a ticket.
Possibly LoganAir?
I think they might bring back the Dundee - Amsterdam flight as it was fairly popular. They've also dropped the price of flights from Dundee to Stanstead down to £49 one way.0 -
There will be #scenes on Sportsound tonight btw.
Tbf I think that he will do a good job at Hearts - was a great manager for us, despite having a tough time at Scotland - but he did have a shite squad of players, mind.

Three Wins for Celtic (in any competition) - would give us our best season for at least 5 years
The Best we could hope for:
- 2 wins, and a draw in the GS (3rd in Group) = 1.25pts
- 1 win and a draw in the EL R32 = 0.75pts
- 1 win in EL R16 = 0.5pts
- 1 draw in the EL QF = 0.25pts
Which would give us 2.75pts + the 3pts we already have = 5.75pts
and that would be enough to be back on course towards getting 2 CL places. (and could put us up to 18th in the coefficient)0 -

Stirling Albion?
Hamilton?
Nobody on the same scale as Aberdeen and generally not as far out of their home community though, so this is fairly uncharted territory
Aberdeen are something of a special case thanks to their geographical isolation
If Hamilton Acccies or Airdrie had moved as far out of their home communities as Aberdeen are proposing then they could have ended up in Motherwell.
Then again there is no major city for 65 miles from Aberdeen (and no other SPFL team for 25 miles)

Re: Cost of the stadium,, looking at what other clubs have spent on similiar-sized stadiums
Viking Stravanger spent €20m on their 16,000 capacity stadium in 2004 (€28.2m when inflation adjusted)
Molde spent £16.75m on their 12,000 capacity stadium in 1998 (£27.1m when inflation adjusted)
IF Elfsborg spent £8m on their 16,000 capacity stadium in 2003 (£11.2m in today's money)
Bristol Rovers' new 21,000 seater ground is going to cost £40m
Either way, there's no chance that this will cost any less than £20m0 -

As I have already posted, according to press reports the land aquisition has been £1.2million. I'm guessing, and I will admit it's just a guess, that the whole shebang is going to cost £12 - £15 million (based on the figures being bandied about for Aberdeen's new stadium this is maybe a conservative estimate). Not sure how you get an income to cover these costs from renting the stadium out to Dundee FC and any functions, etc., let alone any return on investment. If there was a market for this I'm sure lots of other clubs would be upgrading to new stadia.
Any decent new stadia costs more than £25m.
If they built it for £15m then it would be effectively an ikea McDairmid-esque stadium.0 -

Kind of one for the ProCycling Thread: The Scottish National Road Race Champs are on Sunday in Kennoway, Fife.
John Archibald (Pro Vision) is favourite, although Fraser Martin (Raleigh GAC) and others will be hot on his heels. Having, ridden the course, there is the possibility for punctures and crashes.0 -

Absolutely nothing can be taken from that statement other than we are going full steam ahead with the stadium (Which is quite a lot tbf!). The most interesting aspect is the attached design picture. Looks like a completely enclosed stadium with some big facilities off it and 2 training pitches.
It looks like there's barely enough space for the stadium itself, nevermind parking spaces and another pitch.

The Mercedes-Benz stadium home of MLS side Atlanta United and the Atlanta Falcons is just about finished after 3 and 1/2 years and a cool $1.6 Billion spent on it. (The Retractable roof is getting properly done after the end of the NFL season.) First actual Football game is in 25 days. It holds 70,000 for NFL and usually will have 42500 for regular MLS games. Also has a high chance of being a host city at the 2026 World Cup if the USA wins it.
Looks like a fucking eyesore from the outside

Glory hunters wouldn't be the word I'd use tbh. I'd say most of the increase in support has been those heading back who Hibs had booted in the baws once too often, plus a huge amount of younger folk who realise Hibs are cool as f**k by watching Trainspotting one timeFTFY

Right this needs its own thread as it seems to be clogging up the Aberdeen 17-18 thread
so to recap where we are now, briefly:
- Aberdeen have formally submitted planning permission to the relevant authorities for a New 20,000 seater stadium in Kingsford, with training facilites and community buildings etc...
- The #NoToKingsford campaign is mostly NIMBYs who think the ground will cause too much traffic
- Pittodrie re-development is a non-starter due to poor decisions made in 1990s
- Aberdeen have launched the Aurora campaign (yes to Kingsford) with a snazzy looking video.
- Council will decide next month on whether to not to grant planning permissionAnything I missed out?

Given the Space dimentions that Aberdeen have to use, Pittodrie probably could be redeveloped - but it would cost more or less the same as the new stadium and would probably lower the capacity to under 17,000.
I know Milne said it would be 12,000 - but I think he's being melodramatic, as is his point that Aberdeen would have to play European games in Edinburgh - when there's a Grade 4 Stadium of reasonable size in Dundee.0 -

For me it's District 10 @ Seabraes in Dundee - I've always thought it looked cool
Since I've moved to Aberdeen, I haven't really got one here other than the Sir Duncan Rice Library cos as one of my friends says "It looks like the Jedi Temple"
