  1. That nearly every big club is Scotland wanted. He is nephew of Jim Gallacher ex-Clydebank keeper, cousin of Paul Gallacher, Partick Keeper. Club have huge hopes for him. Played a lot in the under 20's last season at 15 years of age.

And who was the best player on the park in the Victory Shield game against Northern Ireland.

  2. never heard of a scenario where a home team in a league game is forced to change kits because the away kit clashes with both.

Ayr United a couple of years back. They had a "half and half" strip, similar in design to Feyenoord and Blackburn Rovers.

It was black and white so clashed with our home strip of dark blue and our away strip of white. And Dundees. And Ross Countys.

Ayr had to play in their yellow away strip every time.

They were fortunate that the Raith away was pink and QOS red and black stripes, otherwise they'd have had to wear their away strip in about 60% of their league games.

And yes, I realise I'm a saddo for knowing that.

  3. He's not

I wonder why that hasn't been confirmed then?

It was the same with Boulding. He apparently left us in October, yet there were no announcements from the club.

Generally, I think FFC are decent at communicating with the fans (cue sarcastic laughter from some on here). Yet I'm sure there has been no statement on the fate of Boulding / OTJ on either the website or Facebook, nor have there been any questions asked in the interviews on FFCTV. I don't think the Falkirk Herald have mentioned them either.

Why the lack of info? Have they been forgotten about, or are we trying to avoid drawing attention to the fact that we signed a pair of duds in the first place?

  4. I'd imagine Muirhead will just be cover. Worth having imo as we lose a lot when Vaulks has to drop back in to defense to cover injury/suspension. A lot of pressure on Morgan's shoulders to be the striker we need.

It could be argued that we already have cover from McGeever, unless Houstie's decided he's a dud. Pressley gave him a three year deal, left two months later and he's been in the wilderness ever since.

I wonder if Muirhead is meant to be the long-term replacement for McCracken? He'll be 33 by the end of the season so might not get another deal.

  5. We won't be in that long IMO. We will get out of that arrangement as soon as we are allowed to. Look for some changes soon.

    Really?

If that's true then it could only be for two reasons.

Either we want to do it ourselves, which seems unlikely given that we used to do that and gave the whole thing up only a short time ago,

or that we want out of the academy business altogether. Which would seem crazy given the success we've had from it.

What's the reasoning behind your thinking?

  6. I recall Crunchie having an 'off day' when playing against us at Easter Road ;)^_^ (did he ever score against us ?)

He scored a peach against us at Easter Road during a vintage performance when he ran rings round our defence. We (the Falkirk support) gave him a standing ovation when he was substituted.

  7. I heard we are scrapping that English friendly for example. 1 of the many changes Housty has quickly made.

The friendly is going ahead as planned. Houstie says in the Herald today that the trip will give him a chance to get to know the players.

Having booked and paid for a cheap (ie non-returnable) hotel in Woking on the Saturday night I'm quite relieved.

  8. In what bizarre parallel universe are those the same colours, and how on earth would it clash with a Stranraer kit?

I recommend an urgent eye test.

Falkirk's home top is blue. As is Stranraer's. Both of which I'm sure you know already.

So if neither clash with your kit, then why did one of our teams have to change in EVERY game Falkirk played against Morton last season? (we changed to a yellow top once, and you changed to a white top three times).

Bearing that in mind, it seems nonsensical for Morton to have a change strip which is predominantly blue. The only way that would make sense is if you were playing against teams whose home strip had white hoops such as Queens Park or the Shire.

I suppose you can worry about that when it happens - in a years time.

  9. I've always thought their home strips looked bad (Finefare specials) but that away kit is dreadful!

I never understand why clubs release an away shirt which features the same colours as the home top, regardless of the design.

If Morton can't wear their normal top away to Stranraer next season, what will they do? Wear the white strip from this year?
