Shouldn’t be playing top tier games at diddy lower league grounds.

It’s funny that many English fans draw the line at a ‘super league’ in terms of what’s acceptable. Takeovers from states with questionable human rights records, extortionate ticket prices, kick off times being moved all over the place etc but this is the part they object to. They lost their game a long time ago. I would be perfectly happy if these money teams all did their own thing and left the rest of us to it (ideally taking the cheeks with them). Keep the conference league in place to give European football to proper clubs.

We may have identified players but convincing them to sign for a club with no manager is a different story altogether.

Barely heard a peep from the teddy bears for most of the game. North Stand was silent aside from a few of them watching us instead of the game. I thought they’d be more up for a cup final. Has never been the case when we’ve played Celtic, Hibs, Morton etc at Hampden.

Different number of strikers but a very similar set up. For all we conceded the midfield, we had more of the ball today than any other recent game against them.

It’s worked against them the last few times so why change it? Our best chance of winning the cup was by getting in behind them. To do that, you need them to push up and have a high defensive line. A lot will be made of having no shots on target but we had the ball in good areas a good few times, only to show a lack of composure or quality. I don’t think that’s Robson’s fault. We were never going to outplay them and boss the ball so our best chance was to stifle Rangers and stay in the game for as long as possible, which we did. Unfortunately, our attacking threat largely wasn’t there.

As an aside, how poor was Rangers’ support today? I could not believe how quiet they were for the majority of the game. Was it a protest against the board or something? would expect more from a supposed big team at home.

Hopefully the lambers score more.

I remember him coming off the bench for us when he was understudy to Adam Rooney and another striker who shall not be named. I couldn’t believe a young striker, training full time, in Scotland youth squads, banging them in for the development team was so out of shape. Incredibly unprofessional.
