  1. Despite being our most experienced player, Forrest has played with the hesitancy of a nervous teenager for basically his whole career, baffling.
  2. Aye like everyone else he was dodgy last season but he's always been very good technically. He scored a few screamers under Rodgers, none quite as good as that mind.
  3. It's unavoidable, but It's a real shame that things like this are common knowledge well in advance now, Punk turning up out of nowhere on AEW would be up there with some of the biggest moments in the modern era of the business, certainly in the last couple of decades anyway. Plenty big returns and storylines were leaked back in the day but i feel you had to be really plugged in to hear about it, although i suspect me being about 8 at the time and completely unaware of the dirt sheet/IWC world probably clouds my perspective slightly. If it's hyped from now until September it'll be hard for anything to live up to the anticipation that will have built by then, either way it'll be worth watching and as others have said if they give him a free reign to take it as far as he wants it could be great.
  4. Folk who love to describe their own personalities and think of themselves as being a bit of a character are insufferable in general- ''and you know what i'm like!'' etc - but aye, saying someone ''doesn't suffer fools gladly'' ''calls a spade a spade'' ''tells it like it is'' or is even just outspoken is usually just another way of saying they're a bit of a w****r.
  5. Punk going to AEW is probably the only thing that would get me back into watching wrestling every week again. There's chat about Daniel Bryan going there too but i can't see that. Either way Punk would be a game changer.
  6. One of my pals raves about this so thought i'd give it a try. I'm normally hit and miss when it comes to IPA but this is great, probably the best i've had.
  7. Utter lunacy from Bitton. He's had far, far too many 'the f**k is he playing at' moments.
  8. Don't really get the money argument - if it's motivated by that surely going to England and doing fairly well for a season or so would see him earn much more. If he's not all that arsed about career progression and just fancies trying out different experiences then fair enough, it'd be a cracking place to live for a wee while.
  9. I don't really disagree with any of that, i think i just made an arse of getting the point across. I wasn't really on about the general mainstream media opinions but more the things i listen to/read and folk i follow. I do see quite a few folk who talk about Immobile as being in the bracket just under the elite level strikers, but that probably says more about the folk i follow than anything else.
  10. Mkay I stand by that. Players like Insigne and Immobile ( to a lesser extent - i think he's just off form) are thought of by some as being verging on world class level players and then folk are astounded when they see them in games like this making mistakes and being fairly anonymous in spells. Players who play in Serie A or the Bundesliga have a bit more of an allure to folk over here than players they see playing every week in the Premier League. Like how Thiago Silva went from being the hipsters favourite to a supposed fraud when folk saw that he wasn't infallible when he chucked a couple in against West Brom.
  11. Just put Talksport on. I imagine this is what it was like when Diana died.
  12. That photo will go down in history. Also, having Saka (the least experienced player on the pitch) hit the 5th pen when he hasn't ever taken one for Arsenal feels fucking bonkers.
  13. What a massive, massive fucking relief. Weirdly enough, as much as i was jumping about like a dafty when he missed, i feel a wee bit for Rashford as he is quite clearly a good c**t. But enough of that. 6 games at home, Ukraine and Denmark in the knockouts. They'll never get a better chance to win something and they've fucked it. Lovely stuff.
  14. Bonnuci and Chiellini both on yellow cards going into extra time with a combined age of about 237 is very worrying. One of them is a cert to miss time a tackle.
  15. Massive blow that, England players were visibly nervous when he had the ball.
  16. Italy coming into it a wee bit more but still making just ridiculous mistakes and playing 5 metre passes out of play. Every time they do that the crowd gets a lift and it kills any momentum Italy might be building.
  17. The atmosphere's weirdly flat here isn't it? especially considering there are probably about 80k England fans in there.
  18. Italy have a few of those individual players folk over here rate way above their level because they play in a league we don't see as much of, and are thought of as being a bit exotic as a result. In a similar vein you have folk talking about Luke Shaw as if he's a complete diddy despite the fact he's been very good for the last year or so at least.
  19. The thing about Italy playing on the edge is that they're always just on the verge of completely losing their heads. If their composure goes here it's a hammering.
  20. Basically every football journalist i follow on Twitter is saying it's fucking carnage in there and on the verge of getting dangerous, particularly by the disabled sections.
  21. Seeing quite a lot of this. Interested to see what it'll be like by kick off. Although i do get the impression that boy isn't there and is just saying it for a laugh.
  22. Just noticed at 25 seconds into the first video a boy gets his wig volleyed off. Incredible stuff, there's yer moment of the tournament.
