Very very good album, You Know We Can't Go Back is the best song he's written in a long time IMO. I'd say melodically the album beats anything he's done since maybe DBLT

Cool. What if I've got a conditional from uni and wouldn't find out until August if I'm going to uni or college? I'm pretty certain I have to apply before that?
There's a section in the application form for conditionals, you just update it when you get your results. You can put your HND course down as a back up too.

Guys what's the deal with SAAS? How do I apply? Also, I'm planning on just not turning up to my HND course (I've accepted the offer) If I get an offer for uni, how would this affect SAAS etc?
http://www.saas.gov.uk/how_to_apply/index.htm - it takes a while but it's fairly straightforward
Also, if you got an offer from the Uni, couldn't you just email the college to say you wouldn't be going? SAAS need to know what course you're doing and where, so that could complicate things if they think you're doing a HND.

Also just watched The Interview, i'd say pretty much the same as above. Hilarious at times, and a good film overall, but it isn't quite as good as i had hoped.

I found it fine but I was 17 at the time so didn't have to worry about nights out. There is (or certainly was when I was there in 2009-10) a night bus runs so you don't have to worry about taxis to get back out.
Halls are great if you end up with good folk, and being able to wake up 10 minutes before a lecture and make it on time was awesome.
I'll be going on 19 so i would hope to be out in the city a fair bit, I'm looking forward to the halls experience though. where did you live in second year? I'm hearing Gorgie is a popular area for HW students, with decent bus links etc
Also, what did you make of the Uni in general?
Don't go to Heriot Watt but if your going into 1st year and are under the age of 20 just bite the bullet and go into halls. Everyone is in the same shit situation and just gets on with having fun.
I'm almost certain i'll be living in halls, i'd feel as if i was missing a part of the experience if i never.

Hear its a bit of a trek - can you not live in halls closer to town and commute out that way instead?
I could, but the University-owned flats in town are much more expensive I'm sure, probably too expensive for me.

I'm heading to Heriot Watt in September, for any current/past students on here, how much of a pain in the arse is living out at Riccarton in 1st year? a wee part of me is wishing i'd picked Napier just so i'd be properly in town. Although it certainly won't be boring i'd probably prefer to have more of a city life.

Last year i didn't get any replies until the end of February IIRC, then received all of my other offers in the space of a fortnight

Biffy Clyro on Sunday night in the barras, pretty incredible if i'm honest.

Seeing Biffy Clyro at the barras on Sunday, has the potential to be pretty special.

I've just turned it on and he's played a few nice passes and looks very comfortable on the ball. Sid Lowe(spanish football journalist) also said recently that he's a very good player and has a chance of making it which is encouraging to hear.

Someone was telling me that Kevin Bridges sends Hibs related tweets to Justin Bieber on a regular basis.
I would doubt whether Bieber has ever responded.
He's got a thing going with Kanye West and Pitbull too, where he tweets them like they're his pals, can be quite amusing

I managed to get tickets for the Ireland game after waiting for 50 mins or so, got my England tickets through the SSC but waited too long to get Ireland ones.
Atmosphere should be electric at the Ireland game in particular. Also, any idea why the 'Green brigade' area and surrounding areas aren't selling too well?

He's also said this will make it on to the album, about time too, great tune

I'd also hope they give a few tunes from similarities and lonely revolutions a run out, £40 a ticket including all fees, might have to book the sunday the now for the presale and try and fail to scavenge tickets for the other two nights.
Excited to know what the 3rd chapter of Biffy will sound.
I'm the same, them calling this the 'end of the second chapter' makes me think they're going somewhere completely different with the next album

I can only do the final night, which suits me really. I like both albums.
They're not doing all the songs I don't think btw. Fans will get to pick, but I assume it'll be the majority.
Aye i realised that later on, they're doing some B-sides too, hopefully they give Similarities a good run out.
Frightened Rabbit retweeted someone on Twitter saying how amazing it would be if they supported Biffy at the Barras, so take what you can from that. I think i can only manage the last night, which I'm mostly fine with, though if i could i'd go to all 3.

Confirmed this morning that they will play 3 nights at the Barrowlands in December, 1st night they play all the songs from Blackened Sky and Puzzle. Vertigo of Bliss and Only Revolutions on the 2nd night. They will finish on the third night with Opposites and Infinity Land.

Hawick Common Riding was on over the weekend which was decent as always, although i'd imagine it'd be weird as f**k if you weren't from the borders
