I saw this last night. It did seem that the Cohen's wanted to make a homage to the studio system and films of the 40's and put a half baked plot together to hang this on. I really enjoyed it though. Perhaps the lack of plot / resolution was a comment on the shallowness of the films they were parodying.

Jackie Brown - really enjoyed it but unlike many other Tarantino films, can't see me watching it more than once
The only film I have ever left early was 2001 as I was so bored. To be fair to myself, I think it had been re-released in the afterglow of Star Wars and thus I was very young but now know better
Just watched John Carpenter's The Thing for he first time with my daughter. Fantastic looking on blue ray with the special effects holding up pretty well today
