  2. Honestly, do you really believe we'll just walk away and say, right lads, we've got a clean sheet here, we can demand taxes on everything that comes out of the North Sea and squander it as we please? Another Dream Merchant! FFS
  3. Without a share of 'the assets' no chance! You're dreaming mate! it aint gonna happen!
  4. 1) Yep, it will all be handed over immediately, British & Foreign investors will just have to stick it? 2) Which assets do you wish that we keep against our liabilities? And how does that work out financially for Scotland? 3) So no if no Union Currency we just default? Aye right!
  5. That's not what I asked, yes we are struggling but I guess managing that debt already as a nation. (UK) But again, how soon after independence would we be asked to take our share of the debt and would it coincide with an agreed increased share in Oil revenues? And if not how would we service that debt and still be able to borrow from International banks to fund new infrastructure/service investments, in Health, Education, Housing, Industry etc. It's not a point scoring statement it's a straight question.
  6. How soon after independence would we be saddled with £1.5 Billion worth of debt and would our increase in Oil revenues be agreed and received before or after we took on our share of the national debt? Serious question
  7. Just caught the end of the news this morning before heading out, BBC breakfast reporting latest poll showing a 14 point lead for NO. anyone know which poll they were referring to?
  8. Aye you wish! instead you got a Royal Flyover, A Royal Welcome, and a fantastic Royal rendition of GSTQ in your own midden! Hope you enjoyed it to the full!
  9. In that case, if the English aren't bothered, perhaps most of those voting yesterday were indeed Scots, the result is therefore even more pleasantly surprising!!
  10. Crowd fairly mixed including many visiting Scots and ex-pats but accept that the majority of attendees were English. Does go a little against the view that we are all seen as nation of sponging freeloaders by our cousins down south though don't you think?
  11. Just out of interest.... At the Ashbourne (Derbyshire) Highland gathering yesterday, 20th July attendees amongst the 8,000 strong crowd were asked to vote in a mock referendum. Should Scotland become an independent country? The Poll booth opened at 9.00am and closed at 5.00pm, with a steady line of people queuing up throughout the day to cast their vote. The result was as follows. YES - 22% NO - 78 %
  12. Whit? So the No vote is odds on just because its made 'to look like a clear favourite', aye that's how it works! Lets just get this right then, are you saying there's a mystery betting syndicate out there putting a wedge of 5 &10 grand bets on the No vote, just to skew the market, dupe the bookies and the punters?.
  13. If your Bookie is offering Brazil at 1/6 then he wont have many takers mate!
  14. Still not much movement at the Bookies, Sky Bet have No at 1/6 and Yes at 7/2 and that's about the most 'middle of the road odds' you'll get on line. http://www.oddschecker.com/politics/british-politics/scottish-independence/referendum-outcome
  15. Still looking ok, 2-9 on No, 3-1 on Yes
