Must say, Alan Martin in goal looks excellent. Very good and looks like he installs confidence in those in front of him, maybe something we've been lacking for the past few years, could be the difference between 8th and relegation!

Just watched the highlights, 3rd goal was horrible but it was an individual error. These things happen occasionally and I'm sure he will bounce back. What's more concerning to me is the 2nd and 4th goals. 2nd goal there was plenty bodies there to deal with it and Cardle still managed to get a shot through them. 4th goal was poor defending and simply outmuscled. These are the things that Stevie needs to sort out. Players need to be stronger and want the ball more than the opponents, doesn't look like it happened yesterday.

People saying Thomson should be playing CDM. I agree however there seems to be some sort of stigma about playing young guys there, who was the last 'young' guy u seen play there? Always seems to be guys in the twilight of their career, hence the Stevo role perhaps, can't help but think it was a role created back in the day to accommodate the Gerard's of this world and everyone has jumped on the bandwagon, a few years ago Stevo was a striker, why does Stevie think he's a CDM all of a sudden. I like Stevie but I worry about the season ahead. Granted I don't see many games due to work commitments but from what you guys report the tactics seem to be severely lacking. At least under Murray we made progress, then when it stagnated he left.

He was playing for pollok amateurs last season apparently. I would be really surprised if we signed 5 players. I agree that we need about 5 but with Aitken being adamant for weeks that we are going to run with 16/17 I can't see 5 coming in. Also doesn't give new players long to bed in with new teammates before opener on Saturday! So even with new faces I would assume Saturday's starting line up is going to be much the same as we've seen so far
