Well cup quarter final results are in. There was a dubious question due to ot being in the news last week, a few of you pointed out that the answer was wrong, which it was, however after deliberation with the powers that be they have decided that all results stand as they are as it was still a level playing field. 8mileBU 7 v Adamski 4 In the 1st tie, 8mileBU raced away into an early lead, Adamski never really threatened. Tynierose 3 v Peasy23 4 Both teams getting to the last 8 thanks to some solid defensive work in previous rounds and again defences on top here. Peasy23 sneaks through thanks to a moment of brilliance in the dying seconds. Moomintroll 6 v Silky si Mcfly 6 These 2 force me to think up a extra time question so I have nothing else to say apart from You wont like the extra time question........ Mark Connolly 7 v 101 8 Both teams big hitters and this tie lived up to its billing, goals galore but 101 sneaks it thanks to the odd goal in 15. So extra time for Moomintroll and Silky si Mcfly. I asked about 10 different tall things in the quiz, what is the height, in metres, of them all together? Answers by PM by 7pm on friday.

So yeah I may have made an arse of one of the questions in the cup, it's been sent to the dubious goal panel for deliberation. The decision will be made during the results show. Thanks (or not [emoji85]) to those who pointed it out.

Thanks, yes it was the disney film as it was a disney round after all! If I was vague in the question then folk should've got more right in the main event to prevent extra time [emoji6] I would consider setting a new question but I cant be arsed and taking a leaf out the Cardigans book, "when the quizmaster is wrong, the quizmaster is always right"

The 1 cup match that went to extra time is now complete. I asked What date was the original Jungle Book released? Tynierose went for 01/08/67 after saying it's one of his favourite films BWV went for 06/06/47 saying he saw a black and white version once on channel 4 The correct answer is 18/10/67 well done Tynie, commiserations to BWV. The Quarter final draw will be up in next couple days, I have a busy weekend so it may be Monday. Remember the category is Tall things if any of you want to do some swatting up.

The Cup results are in. Arch Stanton 7 v 8mileBU 9 High scoring affair this but 8mileBU's near perfect effort sees him into the quarter final. Moomintroll 4 v Rugster - no score Moomintroll's casuals came out in force to support his team, this made Rugster s**t the bed and just stay at home. 4 was enough in the end. The captain 3 v Adamski 6 2 teams leaving it late but Adamski does enough to cruise into the quarter final. Mathematics 5 v Silky si Mcfly 6 Tight affair here, Mathematics had a lot to prove after getting through with 1 in the last round. Didnt get embarrassed but his 5 wasnt enough as Silky smashes home a last minute winner. Wastecoatwilly 7 v Mark Connolly 9 Another game where defenders were posted missing, Mark Connolly's secret Disney princess collection came in handy as he progresses. 101 7 v The DA 6 No easy games at this stage as another tight result shows. Was a ding dong battle but 101 holds off The DA's late comeback to progress. Peasy23 8 v Salvo Mantalbano 3 Peasy23 smashes home 8 early goals to take a commanding lead before Salvo's mob had even got started. Some will say they are still on the starting block as he exits with a whimper. Tynierose 7 v Bully Wee Villa 7 The battle of the old guard, nothing can separate these boys as they take the final match of the round into extra time. Your extra time question is below. I think the issue is our season is effectively done, realistically we are not going to get into the top 4 unless we have a smashing run of form and we are unlikely to end up relegated or in the playoff due to the teams below looking even worse. Classic mid table mediocrity.
