  1. I don't get the hatred for this cup. I don't approve of the colts teams, but , realistically, it's probably the only way 90% of the SPFL teams will ever get their mitts on a cup. The days of lower league upsets are long gone. And please don't come back with what I expect to get!!
  2. Long Watson, Dunlop , Meggatt Dunsmore Davidson Agnew Docherty ,Linton Currie Smith. To me , that's the best we have , but we will never play that formation. Subs McDowell Mc Bride Slattery Thomson Kane Dowds Court
  3. Think thee Choo Choo may need a new driver and fireman shortly!!
  4. What was resoundingly obvious after the substitutions were made is that some players in this squad are not at the level of league 1. In fact, 1 or 2 were at a standard below my 7yr old when it comes to ball control. Passing was at times poor to abysmal, with the exception of a few players. I did say I'd reserve my judgement on the management untill the end of August, but as has been said previously, I do think the next 2 games this week could spell the end of everyone's patience. I live in hope, but also fear the probable.
  5. Hmmm.... Where do you start after this afternoons performance? 1. After all the LC games I thought we had a solid defense, that could absorb anything. Wrong, the same frailties exist from last season. Set piece management and execution were poor today and once again cost us the game. I don't want to hear any excuse about Dumbarton being an ex championship team and being a favourite for the title. Over the 90mins, they were honestly not really any better than us. They had 2 goals from corners, and a shot of the post when we were open , trying to get back into the game. Get the problem sorted ,and fast or we will be in trouble before the end of August. 2 points to note from today, 1. Why are we choosing to play the wrong way round ? 2. Why not play in the home kit? I was really looking forward to the season at 15.00 today, but once again, the dread has crept in. Disappointment is an understatement.
  6. Looking forward to the season and hopefully the promise we've seen in these cup ties will rollover into the league. I will review this prophecy again at the end of August.
  7. Too soon to come out , but I'd get the [emoji91] man down to the shed and kindle the fire, top up the water and grease the nipples!
  8. Have to say, that's the first time ive seen the team the season, and was really impressed with what I saw. Finally, we can concede a set piece and not have your phone notification go ping within a minute to indicate East Fife have just lost a goal. Defense looked solid, and a confident keeper behind them made all the difference. Some good performances in the middle of the park, and some good football played. Scott McBride played well, and hopefully dispelled some of the negative feelings among the support. Kev Smith looked more like his old self, and Craig Thomson had flashes of what he can do. Still think we can do with an experienced striker, but maybe that's a luxury beyond reach at this point. Team applauded and the East Fife chant rang through the stadium as the final penalty was saved . Promising start, let's hope we can continue into the next game. monthefife
  9. What's the story with the Hairytwatt striker we had on trial. I know someone that k owa him
  10. That's the STs bought for myself and the wee one. Some more funds for the STRIKER procurement process
  11. Let's try a season with 2 recognised strikers, you never know just might work!
  12. To be honest , I always thought RR would cock up on Saturday, your fans had no faith in the minceability of RR
  13. Just proves how much glory hunting influences the choice of so many. Good luck next season, hopefully the Kirkcaldy lot will cock up their playoffs and stay with us in league 1.
  14. Can you confirm that the 2400 attendance on BBC sport site is correct? I'd have thought you guys would have attracted around 4000 for such a huge game.
  15. It irks some of them ,but only the ones who don't know better. Most Rovers realise our history is what it is and can't be taken away. Just a pity most of us weren't alive at the time.
  16. East Fife win followed by a Culcutta win, not a bad Saturday.
  17. Just opened the box of coasters I received at Xmas , and interestingly, note which team we play tomorrow
  18. Hawkhill BC beside Somerset Park, that's where most folk go, and our bus group will be there
  19. Just been asked this question by Google places, answers on a postcard please!
