  1. Do you reckon Kevin Holt is top flight standard? Especially now he plays centre half? Genuine question - really liked him at Dens but that was at left back and often thought he struggled with top flight physicality.
  2. I meant to add to this RE Tiffoney - I share your frustration - but I think he may have a touch of the Greg Stewart’s about him.. More in that the step up to the top flight physicality and fitness has been a lot harder for him than some other players - maybe due to type of player he is or his build whatever it may be. For Stewart he admits to being a lazy fat b*****d outside of football and his jump from P/T to F/T was a massive shock - it’s not quite as bad for Tiff but his performances now vs early in the campaign are night and day - think Doc protected him well and unleashed him when he was ready. If he goes on to be half the player Stewart was for us I won’t complain 1 bit.
  3. It does - each postponement is named as a breach. A further breach is then mentioned in singular. 1 postponement = 1 breach
  4. Dundee website has crashed - fine for that incoming most likely - anyone got the statement?
  5. Fined £66k - £120k suspended and used if another breach. 100% worth it imo. Not sure how all postponements can be seen as breaches due to severe weather warnings etc - will all other clubs be fined £13,200 with £24,000 suspended for every game called off? Sporting integrity etc? SPFL PRESS RELEASE: DUNDEE FC DUNDEE FINED FOR BREACHES OF SPFL RULES At a disciplinary hearing today (18 April 2024), Dundee FC admitted five separate breaches of SPFL Rules relating to their Dens Park pitch. This followed postponements of cinch Premiership matches on 7 October 2023, 23 December 2023, 2 January 2024, 17 March 2024, and 10 April 2024. As a result, Dundee were fined £186,000, of which £120,000 is suspended until the end of season 2024/25. This suspended element will be automatically triggered in the event of a further breach of SPFL Rules relating to pitch condition next season. An SPFL spokesman commented: “SPFL Rules on pitch condition are an integral part of maintaining a fair league competition.”
  6. McCowan is a player who would benefit any squad he walks into, fit into the team, Work hard and deliver. Greg Stewart (and another Dee/Killie example Gary Harkins) are luxury players who drift in and out of games but can turn them in an instant - and if in the mood are almost unplayable on that day. Comparing apples with pears in my opinion - love them all.
  7. Sorry for double quote - in a timely fashion the SPFL have released a Luke McCowan compilation on socials - if you squint your eyes it really could be a Greg Stewart reel. Less of the showboaty stuff (which I unashamedly loved) but just as effective imo.
  8. Any form of cash to watch St Johnstone is a rip off… But yeah fair play to the club for being active and trying to get fans engaged and bums on seats - I love things like this and credit should be given where it’s due. Thank you
  9. I’ve posted on this relating to Tiffoney vs Stewart on the Dundee thread - but I think McCowan has had a couple seasons adapting to top flight football and is now flying. He is one of the best players on the park, win lose or draw, every week including opposition players. He’s our most important player by a long stretch and comparisons with Stewart are not unwarranted - Stewart was not a stand out at Dens immediately either but got up to speed and grew into it and had 1 fantastic season before we lost him.
  10. Mulligan > Costelloe - 100% agree The others I completely disagree with - Bakayoko was excellent yesterday - had a thankless task. Cameron is in our top 3 players atm. Main is about as fit as me.
  11. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/2ivir2BgSGTVKZNi/?mibextid=KsPBc6 Bit random but popped up on my FB - Kwame Thomas makes a cameo bit Laurent Tolaj (spelling?) also hops in goal for his club.
  12. I think this is what he wanted to do - I think his execution of it is absolutely laughable. The correct way to do this would be to say he was pleased with what he saw from his team, however thanks to a hardworking and excellent professional performance from the opposition, who are more used to the poor ground conditions (yes he can still get the pitch excuse in - laughable but credible to the gallery after the media furore) and just lacking a bit of luck in the box he feels there were real signs of improvement overall and on another day they get the win. This would have been a gracious response and taken pressure off his players imo. In reality it was an improved performance - Dundee are much better than county all over the park - just look at the league positions (Dhanda excluded), but County ran them into the ground on Sunday and embarrassed them. This was a far better performance from Sevco - but still nowhere near good enough for a team in a title race. His spin however seems to be pitch was shite, opposition were shite, we were very good, completely dominated but couldn’t win. This does not stand up to any scrutiny to anyone who watched the game and will only draw ridicule, more questions and heap more pressure on him. I’d argue Dundee were the only team looking likely to snatch a win. As ham fisted an attempt at PR as I have seen - I have absolutely no doubt he went right through them in the changing room - he looked fucking livid at full time and rightly so.
  13. Away from the trolling and hilarity in the match thread - what a season (for a first one back up), what a squad, what a gaffer. Allow me to indulge in a bit of negativity though - Costelloe? Get him in the sea.
  14. It’s worse - you wouldn’t pass to a man that wasn’t on but he keeps getting the ball
  15. 100% The game vs Aberdeen at Dens would’ve been Costelloes last if I had anything to do with it.
  16. Costelloe is rotten - started well with us (offensively - always been horrific defensively) but is now shite at both.
  17. This has all been a right laugh - but it’s time to stop the nonsense and do the right thing. Dundee FC and our park have blatantly cost Sevco their title - and it’s not fair - I believe this would have been a historic 2nd title breaking Celtic and a now Defunct clubs historical dominance. I’ve petitioned the SPFL with the following: Dundee FC to forfeit the 3 points after colluding with Celtic to make sure Rangers preparations for the Ross County game were interrupted. Celtic loaning us ”Holy” pitch covers was too obvious. Sevco to be awarded an additional 1.5 points for their loss at Ross County at the weekend. We all know County are shite and their performance only appeared excellent due to the upset to Sevco preparations. County will keep the other 1.5 points to ensure that they are 1 defeat of the Perth away from consigning them to the playoffs - normally Dundee should get this 1.5 points - being the establishment top 6 side - but we are willing to forfeit this right as our punishment for being naughty and to get it up the Perth. This is .5 of a point more than any uppity club should expect from the Sevco at home anyway so they should count themselves lucky. All goals are to be chopped off from the county game - apart from Taverniers penalty as he is in pursuit of the golden boot and penalty world records. Thank you
  18. I’ve not read this yet - I’m gonna enjoy that with a beer later. Just wanted to quickly ask if it’s still Dundees fault Rangers are not top of the league. Also congratulations County Thank You
  19. A lovely GIRFUY to the Sevco, Tom English and the other weegie journos. Thank You
