  1. The metallic logos pack has almost all the Junior ones in it.
  2. How long til we get it? I persevered with S1 but it was a bit pants IMO.
  3. Doesn't make it amateur though - in Scotland 'amateur' is classed as recreational football. The Juniors are also on the Non Professional board and about half of its membership legally pay players, something the recreational teams are forbidden to do.
  4. The Vanity Fair website has some pictures: http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2015/05/star-wars-the-force-awakens-vanity-fair-cover The interesting pics (scrolling gallery at bottom) are of... Interestingly (or perhaps not), someone unearthed the fact that the name... was pretty much used in the cartoon series Droids
  5. Vanity Fair have a history of on-set photoshoots being an early reveal and this time it's no different: One or two slight spoilers in terms of casting within the film above.
  6. Yeah but there is a slight variation: Whereas in the EU... If you want spoilerific specifics... Spoilers are a bit vague compared to the prequels which is quite good I suppose but the basic outline of what happens is out there.
  7. Not from what I have heard, though some ideas from the Expanded Universe are floating about. Some fairly nailed-on plot ideas to be plucked from the EU seem to be...
  8. Yeah it is an interesting idea to have a film about the '1st victory' mentioned in the ANH crawl. Though I thought that was where the Rebels TV series was heading.
  9. Yeah it was fine the first time, maybe 2nd time too with the Jedi Academy trilogy, but a lot of the subsequent trilogies mined similar ground. By ditching the EU and its timelines, it means no one really *knows* what will happen. While some EU ideas will survive, it's much more of a guessing game. Even for those following the spoilers, it's much more under wraps than it was for the prequels. Very few character names are known, the state of the galaxy is very much a ??? (as opposed to the peace with Imperial skirmishes Zahn and those that followed envisaged), it was not until yesterday that a new planet name was unveiled, what is known of the plot is very sketchy and without much detail. If it was the Thrawn trilogy, much, much more would be known and it would be a lot less interesting IMO.
  10. Which is a good thing as the Expanded Universe of post ROTJ had a formula of: Another Imperial comes along and threatens Galactic Peace in the New Republic, perhaps with a Superweapon. Luke (and his band of new Jedi from the Jedi Academy), Leia, Han (and their children) and Lando will all be involved in undoing it. Everyone lives happily ever after. Repeat ad nauseum. Some of the stories were good but it did get very repetitive and would have been a very regid structure for the sequels to fit into. I've heard some demand that Timothy Zahn's books be the focus and while I'm sure some aspects of the EU will survive, at least they have a blank slate at this point to perhaps take things in a more interesting, less sterile direction.
  11. Here's JJ Abrams introducing BB-8 to the audience at Celebration:
  12. The Star Wars Celebration event in California has a display of some of the costumes and ships shown in the trailer with a few information cards alongside them. These cards are labelled under which side that group fights:
  13. Here's the TPM trailer just to remind you: Maybe it's hindsight but I don't think the tone of the two compare.
  14. Read at your peril.... Again, read at your peril! A lot of that is fairly deducable from the two trailers which show an old-fashioned sabre, the skull and Anakin/Vader's sabre but it is backed up by rumour. So who is he? If anyone's read that waste of trees the EU they seem to be taking inspiration from it despite the stories being consigned to an alternate reality.
  15. I don't think it will ever go away but at least in this case, JJ Abrams has deliberately gone down the route of making it real where possible. There are going to be occasions where that's not possible but it was ever thus and matt paintings were used here and there to create backgrounds that would be unviable or uneconomic. However, Lucas with Episodes 2 and 3 moved away even from his approach to TPM and perhaps those films suffered for it.
  16. A few things will help - more real sets, less CG. Even BB-8 the rolling robot is real. Would have been easier I suppose to have done it CG but they've gone for the real effect.
  17. For those following spoilers, the trailer clears up one thing:
  18. Before they showed it at Celebration at 7pm, they hadJJ and a few of the cast chatting about it. Nothing majorly exciting apart from some new pics, a new planet name and that BB-8 is actually a working robot. Edit: and Carrie promised not to wear the metal bikini...
  19. Wishaw's adding makes it a bit more competitive these days but the group of SBA, Carluke, Lanark and Forth was an annual two-horse race at best.
  20. It's what makes the two League Cups in the West Juniors a bit of a joke as the groups are very imbalanced. Shotts get that bye every year being in a dreadful group whereas the one Pollok were in at one time contained half the top flight of the Central Region (Lok, Arthurlie, Renfrew, Johnstone, Neilston and Benburb - though the 7th team St Anthony's I'm sure actually qualified latterly before they changed it). With my Dons hat on and experience of stale league cup groups, I think the idea is a bit of a non-starter. Cup crowds are invariably pish as they're not covered by a season ticket.
  21. Almost impossible this... In no order: World Leader Pretend Harborcoat Find The River Country Feedback Sing For The Submarine Doing this again, I'd probably put either Losing My Religion or Man On The Moon in place of SFTS.
  22. Felt Episode 4 really picked up. Really enjoyed it. Even Jack Docherty didn't annoy me as much.
