  1. Two teams who probably aren't, but could be, in for the kind of terrible seasons their fans are mostly predicting.

It's the best possible time for Hearts to have a go at Celtic so fully expect 5 at the back, 2 holding midfielders and Walker chained to the bench unless we go 2 down.

  2. I would have said Davidson was a better player than Alexander, but not by that much and Alexander arguably had the better career.

TBH, below Gerrard, there's not a manager in the league who was that good.  Davidson was back up to Gary Naysmith for Scotland, Alexander was a solid pro who took a lot of flak for Scotland and Mackay was a big huddy.  The rest were various levels of average to poor.

They were wanting it moved a couple of weeks ago because Scotland’s covid rules determine that a single positive test could lead to the whole team being put in isolation. That’s why they aren’t training at Oriam anymore.

A misinterpretation of the rules which they've had repeatedly explained to them

I don't think Goram would have made any difference in the Morocco game. We were just so gash and seemed surprised by Morocco. He probably wouldn't have chucked one in like Leighton did mind, but he wouldn't have been able to boot the arse of those in front of him unfortunately. Just a terrible, terrible performance that night.

Didn't know that about the UEFA president! Dodgy stuff.

Leighton was terrible at both the first two goals, off the back of an awful season at club level.  The match was tight till the second with us having quite a few good chances, Burley in particularly missing a great chance to equalise.

That said, Goram had been pish that season at club level as well.

There were plenty available if you were willing to pay. That was the same night England equalised late against Romania then conceded again even later, provoking incredible scenes in the Saint Etienne fanzone. And as well as that and buying the ticket I also bumped into Alloa legend Keith McCulloch in the fanzone. So aye, I did 😉

You didn't buy it for 80 euro would be the guy's point I expect

    Ireland had a ( better )  defence !?

We had Gough, McLeish, Miller, Hansen, Malpas and Nicol available and kept 6 clean sheets in 8 games.  I don't think our defence was a problem tbh

McInally played about 50 minutes in the qualifying games. McCoist played about 90% of them and regularly up front with MoJo.

It was completely mental that McCoist didn’t start.  Going into that tournament, at least 3 other strikers had started games before McInally.

Correct.  It was good enough to start McCoist and Johnston against France but somehow Costa Rica demanded a physical presence in McInally despite him being a big huddle.

Roxburgh had a lot to offer coaching and development wise but his Scotland teams were largely over cautios

What is the script with Aaron Hickey? Don’t follow Italian football too closely but has he been out injured or missed a lot of football? Last I was aware he had been very impressive in his early games with Bologna so would’ve expected him to kick on and have been in Scotland squads. Certainly based on past performances his potential was huge and seemed like he’d be a nailed-on to make the Scotland squad ahead of a few guys that are in. 🤔

Injured for the last couple of months and out for the season
