  2. Yeah, that’s my experience of them as well @Believe The Hype and they don’t paint the club in a positive light. I get that the Board see them as the future of the club and they need to be welcomed and encouraged but I don’t think they are. There are plenty of other youngsters throughout the club that are there for the right reasons that we should concentrate on before these lads. Anyway, thought we played well again yesterday, by and large I thought we played some really good football, looked well organised and showed again that we’ll be ok this season. Obviously a rotated side, but I thought Carrick & Hilson were exceptional and were the clear stand outs. Heard a few Stenny fans in the car park saying a draw would have been fair, can get that because it was a game of 2 half’s and Blair Currie had to look lively a couple of times.

  7. Absolutely terrific night watching The White Buffalo at the O2 Academy in Glasgow. The guy is just unbelievable in what he does and a great crowd for someone that most people haven’t even heard of.

  9. He was totally wrong about his praise of Grady Diangana when he left West Ham to sign for West Brom
  10. I had tickets for a gig in Glasgow before this game was even announced, but if the truth be told I wouldn't have paid £18 to go last night had I not. I know a lot of Albion regulars that chose not to go and there were a good number of comments on social media from fans saying they would keep their money, so I think the Alloa board shot themselves in the foot with this decision. As Stenny saw over the years, we do tend to take a big away support to games on our doorstep, a big attendance may have been there anyway but had the price been around about £13ish, then I would hazard a guess that you would have seen double what arrived. We'll take the bragging rights as we normally do, so yeah, it must be painful for the Alloa fans, I honestly wouldn't know.................... all joking and banter aside lads, I think it's a fixture that has been seriously and sadly missed for the past 11 or 12 years. Although the older Stirling supporters talk about Falkirk, for lads like myself, this was always "our derby" and the rivalry with Alloa was always the first fixture you looked out for, so I think it's great to have it back on the calendar again and I hope to see some real rollercoaster and ding dong affairs between the 2 of us this season. I think we do have a squad that will be more than competitive in the league, something that's been lacking in our 2 or 3 cup meetings.
  11. Likewise. I couldn't go last night as I had already bought tickets for a gig in Glasgow (however I wouldn't have paid the money to go to The Recs anyway), but i'm absolutely delighted at the result, although not really surprised after the Arbroath and Ayr performances.
  12. Someone with better internet skills than me could probably find something, however I am sure when Regan launched the Lowland League he spoke about it being the case then. Without actually saying it, the move was brought in to give the big Junior clubs time to get their stadiums up to scratch, but rather than word it as that it was worded along the lines of "all teams with league ambition" however everyone at the time knew what he meant. So all the clubs that moved to join the Lowland League knew that within time, they would have to bring their facilities up to Bronze standard, so it's probably a move to implement what had already been agreed rather than any sort of self preservation.
  13. Just watched a couple of videos after reading this, wow......that really is something!!
  14. Assuming it's a reputable company, then they'll have public liability insurance which will cover them. If it's not and they've not got an agreement with the club and are trading on their land, then someone should report it.
  15. We’ve been very very fortunate for years, Ben used to put together fantastic footage of games (although some time a tad too long for my liking) and now @TheWestStand is obviously doing it, and doing another tremendous job, in some aspects he’s taken it up a notch. Likewise, I didn’t realise you were behind it. Keep up the great work, it is appreciated by so many.
  16. I think a draw was a fair result, however I think we had enough good opportunities in the First Half to have been a couple of goals ahead before Ayr really came into the game. Despite Currie having a good double save in the First Half and another good save or two in the Second, I don’t think we ever really looked like conceding, so it was a pity that they managed to pounce on Currie’s error. It was also extremely harsh on a keeper that hasn’t really made too many goal goal scoring errors since joining the club. If you had offered me a 1-1 draw before the match, I would have obviously have taken it, however I was even more chuffed with the manner in which we got it. Like Arbroath last week, I think we played some cracking football, working the ball through the zones and looking more of a Championship side than Ayr, for large periods of the game. For me, Blair Hilson was Man of the Match, he was excellent and brings so much energy to the final third of the pitch, with Carrick up there also, those 2 are going to be a real handful and we know that Kieran Moore is no slouch either. At the back, Clark, McLean, Cummins & McGeachie never looked troubled, cleared their lines well and got up to offer support. Pabs strolled it against Amartey and let’s not forget McGeachie’s fantastic strike to bag the goal. Milne was impressive as well, like Hilson, his work rate was excellent and the 2 of them linked well in the First Half and on today’s performance, looks a really good addition to the squad. In the middle, Banner does what Banner does well, it’s his first time stepping up a level obviously, but on the evidence of the 2 Championship sides we have seen him up play so far, he looks like he belongs alongside them. Jack Leitch will have better matches, he was wasteful but we know what he can do and at least he was constantly looking to get on the ball and make things happen, there’s no concerns there, just one of those games for the lad. So penalties aside, I think it was an afternoon to take a lot of positives from. If we can hit that standard every week in the league, then we’ll be ok. Looking forward to a good test on Tuesday and seeing a team at the levels we’ll be facing from August.
