  1. Certainly took advantage of some hairy defending by Caley and it's always a concern when we score so early, although it was funny to hear the Dodds must go ( I'm in the family section so I've censored it) chant instantly begin.

We did all we need to do in giving possession to Caley who rarely created a real chance, and that howler from Devine saw Gallagher produce a heavenly finish.

I didn't see clearly why Frizzell was booked and he seemed very aggrieved, but he ought to have been careful in the second half.

That let Caley make changes and there were many scary moments at our end although our counters could have been better used.

Great defence from the back five/six etc and McMaster well deserved the MOM.

On the referee I thought he was ok although how Carson escaped a card is a mystery.

That's twice I've seen Caley and I can understand why there's rumblings up north.

I’m driving down for this - can anyone recommend where to park? Another ground ticked off the list for me✅

Fully expecting another Dodds masterclass in a 3-1 defeat

There's parking at the ground which now costs three quid and you follow the signs as there are roadworks affecting the away car park. There were no real problems last week with a similar travelling support from Dingwall.

Many folks park in the side streets around the stadium.

  3. I've gone for a home 2-1 win. I was at the cup game at Inverness and it was very much a seesaw match where Airdrie won the first half but the freshened up subs swung the game back to ICT. It was a wee bit of a surprise that the game then opened up and let us get back into the lead.

I'd be happy to get an early lead and see an open game but they were a bit stronger than us for spells

Dodds does appear to be given a bit of a west coast media leeway. Wonder how many traveling fans?

With no extra signings I'd expect a bit of a roller coaster game.

  4. Still smarting a wee bit at that moaning faced McKay getting a win in ET. It was a desperate start as they pressed us so high and whilst Turner hit a good strike I'd need to see the passage of play for both those goals

It was a great run and pass by Friz and so much a shame that we lost our chance for an equaliser to ,  maybe, a wee shove by Murray. Even then had Gabby heard us all shouting square it, instead of running in, we'd have been just one behind.

Great fight back in second half although their defender probably gifted us the penalty

It was great reward for Gal to score as he had a very good game, unassisted by the Ref, and it was so exciting to get the third.

Alas it was not to be and their sheer physicality won them the game.

On the matter of County players I've often heard of hairy arsed centre Half's, ball playing central defenders but until today I'd never seen a centre half taking all the throw ins!

On to the league now and whilst it's no pleasure to see QP with 9 points, it's keeping Arbroath below us!

Yeh should have brought him on for the last 30 mins 🤣

@Chapelhall chap and some others will get this!

Yes I got the reference right away. Thought our full backs were excellent today and whilst snuffing out their wide guys, the attacking drive eventually won the day for us with Watson's superb run and cross for Gal.

Thistle looked really strong in first half although their lead was a wee bit undeserved. I did think at half time that we'd be hard pressed to get even but their loss of Williamson and too many subs ,saw Friz and Dean and the others simply seize the game. It was good to see a wee bit of dig. Was tense when Craigy boy kept playing on and I'd need to see highlights re offside late on. Great day to stroll out on to Craigneuk Avenue.

I didn't realise our record against Thistle was quite as bad but right enough, I can barely recall ever seeing us beat them. I had a look back at the last Airdrie team to take points off them and it's a good laugh:

    Grant Adam
Chris O'Neil - Gregor Buchanan - Rickie Lamie - Marc Warren
Liam Watt - Jamie Barclay - Nathan Blockley - Willie McLaren
    John Boyle - Ryan Donnelly

Subs were Josh Watt, David Lilley and Liam Buchanan. That's about as classic a Jimmy Boyle era Airdrie team as you'll get, I think we got pumped at Hamilton on boxing day a few days before and he got fed up with the senior players and just started playing the youth team.

Interesting to see how many went onto fairly lengthy careers in better leagues such as Lamie, Buchanan and how many were at the tail end of quite good careers, or faded away like Ryan Donnelly,

    but Marc Warren!

Hope to see us alter our record in a positive manner.

  7. Ever reluctant to predict a defeat for us, and tired of fence sitting draw, Ive gone for 2-1 home win.

I had many Thistle supporting friends in my Glasgow working life so I have a soft spot for them rather than the other three. However I'd love to beat them any time and it might as well be this one.

They've recruited better than us and I can see why most posters go for away win

  8. Good early play with Dunfermline sitting off a wee bit and I thought we had a deserved lead but all that overplaying from the back , while occasionally clever, has me going demented when an early passage in it, led to the equaliser.

Looked a great strike for the second following Dunfermline dominance, but Gallagher should have leveled it.

The red card never really was used by us with all that slow build up and Dunfermline resilience. Had the reverse been the situation I think they would have a killer edge like last season.

Our wide guys were nowhere near the guys we need and O'Connor was very poor in most of the game.

We need to add obviously but Dunfermline will also be stronger with their returning players so it's advantage to them .

Series of home games to come so I'm still positive but......

There's a ticket office portacabin type thing you can buy a ticket (cash only I believe? If you want to pay by card you can get one in the club shop, or online).

Think Todd and KRH being out has dampened expectations a little although Tod coming in and showing promising signs has been good to see. Can't see us scoring many so will need to be solid again as we were last season. Will be interesting to see how Todarov gets on. Think it'll be a tight game, maybe a 1-1.

Thanks for the information. I always like games at East end Park so I'll be happy with a draw.

  10. Posting before catching up. Clearly a very good start to the season in four wins from what was seen as a tough group to be in. Fairly good use of the squad and we can convert penalties. Excellent first half in Inverness and resilient against Dundee while staying in games if not yet in  a winning position.

First time getting out of a league cup group for ages.

Some really good passing play in general.

    So well done lads.

On today's game that poor pitch and windy conditions made it difficult to break down a stuffy Bonnyrigg and many of our close passing went astray. The injury to Todororov meant we never really saw how that formation could work. Seemed strange player positions at times and I found it a hard watch.

Best player was Telfer whilst there were no stars the squad did it's job.

As far as next week goes in the league we need Friz and Gabby back, and in the short to longer term, we still need some beefing up.

As to next cup game I'll take any home tie and please don't send us to the far north!

  11. Enjoyed seeing my first Airdrieonians win in Inverness.

ICT had to be better in second half and I'll be honest in saying I thought we were going to lose a third but somehow Todororov got the decisive winner. Too far away to see Rae's save and it made the journey home easier.

Being in the South stand made hearing any PA impossible - is there one there.?

Still think we're a bit light in squad quality and it will be a long tough season. I'd expect ICT to improve over the times ahead.

  12. Late return after dropping off the other delighted chaps. Don't have the time or the data to post during games and it's been good to catch up.

Thought we played really well in first half and ICT has to change players and style to get back in the game. I was, and remain fuming at the by kick messing about which let them force us back. Too far away to see the penalty but it did look as if we'd blown it. It was a bold, if late, decision to combine Gal and Tod. Indeed when the sub board went up he shook hands with previous ICT team mate and as my mate said: Todorov is about to toddle off, as he looked tired. The team just showed real grit and it was great to see him get that goal, as well as Rae's save.

Great fish tea at the happy haggis and I hope we pleased the Ross County staggies in the away end.

    On to top the group!
