  1. Ronaldo to outscore Sporting 7/5 Ibra to outscore feyenoord 3/1 Won't allow a double, but they're on different days, so £20 on first one, if wins throw the lot on Ibra. Pays just shy of 9/1.
  2. Every day of the year seems to have half a dozen worthies claiming it as 'day of'. Might have a winner though... What would the p&b community donate?
  3. I was assuming that was the straight arm going up....
  4. Sgt Wilson finally gets the move of his dreams, although its a fair hike in rental for him.
  5. Aye, true enough Benny, all that shuffling up and down the rows and rows of graves , when he could be scoffing bacon rolls.
  6. Paul Hardcastle also tried this tack, and although he got the year right, due to his stutter, the song only got released as '19'.
  7. Same old tired spiel bennett, I feel you need to up your staunchness. If you need inspiration, look at this excuse for missing the recent swamps golf day.
  8. Oh, I know mozza, Mr bairn etc have gone.... But this bigoted rascist sectarian junkie as well ?
  9. One word of caution.... If HD voice/VoLTE is an important feature to you , don't buy Chinese. The phone you buy might/may support it, but the networks here won't. I think one network has one plus two but that's it, and the same for UK released phones. IPhone 6 and up, some Samsungs, Sony xperias, LG G5 etc will have access, legacy UK phones which have the feature will get bumped for the foreseeable. The rest might not. I had toyed with buying the LG4 as is it cheaper than the 5 and a better bit of kit all round, but if no network support then why bother? Hence binning VoLTE as a desirable feature and going Umi.
  10. I'm with 3 as one of my sims and they are 2100mhz for texts and calls. For 4g , it is bands 1,3 and 20 from memory and band 7 for gsm/3g (8 if you with, lol, Vodafone) This a is big electronics show over there just now with loads of new launches, so there is bound to be price reductions on the go for models released only recently , and with the pound strengthening again it is a better time to buy than when I did a fortnight ago. Re customs, this time I bought from 'gearbest' and got hit the charges as detailed a couple if posts above. My fault as I was doing it from a neighbours PC and didn't want to take up too much time. 'If' I had gone for the slightly dearer silver model from their EU warehouse, then no customs... Or if I had used my usual SpeMall , they have sent previous phones from HK labelled as 'picture frame repair' or 'phone warranty repair' and again no customs. Brands I have bought have been Jiayu and the current Umi so I could only speak for them (jiayu have been taken over so no new phones for a while though the S3+ you can get verrry cheaply on eBay at the mo and XDA have a marshmallow ROM out for it this week, and the Umi I like. A lot). Brands I haven't but 'would' , xaomi , miezu, oppo, honor, top end huwaie or however you spell it. Got an ota update already for the Umi which ironed out a couple of minor bugs, which promising for the future. One small issue was the sound was very low on full volume, but I have had this before on one of my jiayu phones (the other had a Yamaha audio setup so was mint) and is common with mediatek phones. I'm sure my HTC was the same too. 2 minute fix that I did then still works, call up the phone keypad as if making a call, enter a code which opens the engineering menu, ram up the parameters on the audio part and bingo. Speaker sound now more than acceptable. Feel free to ask more, I've probably missed out a lot at this time of day...
  11. Hmm, I call bullplop. As they're Welsh, I think their fitba song was 'the spirit of 76', which clearly refers to the Panenka penalty and the fact england weren't there.
  12. My guess is some of the phones etc are on different bands to the others
  13. I never said I believed the conspiracy aspects , but the technicalities of it I do think are possible.
  14. Or not... Heard about it from Dr Karl on Up All Night, who is about the cleverest bugger around, and that prompted me to search for info on it in the morning.
  15. The Stones originally wrote 'Route 66' about England's path to the 1966 WC Final, but were forced to change the lyrics as it was decided it wouldn't have sold in the American market.
  16. Few conspiracy theories doing the rounds over the remote surveillance possibilities that your WiFi router offers . Appears they could tell if a specific individual walks in a room to a 90% probability, amongst other shtuff. http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2016/08/wi-fi-surveillance/497132/
  17. Will give a proper lowdown after a week or so (on 2G at house so not put apps on to check screen etc etc) and they also have launched the similar Umi Max which has/is being offered cheaply in flash sales at places. The 'next big thing' is 2 rear cameras and this doesn't have it, but not too bothered by that this time. Had looked at one that did have them, did VoLTE but didn't do the 800 band unfortunately. It would've been dearer too. One downside of the Umi is an integral battery , but if it lasts a year then fine. Impressed by the fast charging though, about 70 mins from flat out to full, and that gave @ 7 1/2 hours browsing on near full brightness. And I like the turbo download mode (is that an android feature?) , ie WiFi and cell download at the same time. It doesn't even have the handfull of Chinese apps preinstalled that the Jiayu had, so very 'light' and fast. Pleased so far.
  18. Well.....onto Chinese junk #3 Ordered last weekend, processed Monday and dispatched from Shenzen, it arrived in Inverness Thursday and delivered North on Friday. This time I went for the Umi Super as I wanted the ability to get 800 MHz 4G as I believe that is what's about to get turned on bigstylee up here by EE and maybe 3. Build quality is great and the spec is blinding for the cash, so once I know what network will work best for my locations, I'll whip out the 2nd sim and pop in a 256 card giving 288 giggidy gigs of memory http://www.umidigi.com/page-umi_super_overview.html Still to properly muck around with stuff as getting used to android 6.0 but it has the feel of a really good bit of kit. I did make the rookie error and bought from a site (gear best) that I hadn't used before so got hit with £38 Customs, but even then it was still below my budget of £200. Phone £140+£12 shipping +£3insurance + £38 customs = £193 I think. Oh, and there is one by Ulhans or something on the go for $50 which will do the 4G bands over here. Might even get one just to see. Do as a prezzie after I've had a swatch.
  19. No. As stated it'll be dumped when the dialogue with uefa is complete. I like this summary though " a repeat of my last word from CQN. Maybe I’m too negative, but why allow some ambiguity to remain with the ” club/company” reference? They’ve never denied it was a new company. This wording leaves wriggle room in my opinion. ================================ The ambiguity is from an misunderstanding (deliberate?) of UEFA Article 12. Chapter 2: Licence Applicant and Licence Article 12 – Definition of licence applicant 1 A licence applicant may ONLY be a football CLUB, i.e. a legal entity fully responsible for a football team participating in national and international competitions which either: a) is a registered member of a UEFA member association and/or its affiliated league (hereinafter: registered member); or b) has a contractual relationship with a registered member (hereinafter: football company). 2 The membership and the contractual relationship (if any) must have lasted – at the start of the licence season – for at least three consecutive years. Any alteration to the club’s legal form or company structure (including, for example, changing its headquarters, name or club colours, or transferring stakeholdings between different clubs) during this period in order to facilitate its qualification on sporting merit and/or its receipt of a licence to the detriment of the integrity of a competition is deemed as an interruption of membership or contractual relationship (if any) within the meaning of this provision ================= In Europe clubs can be a) or b) and at present the club operating from Ibrox looks like its b) if RIFC have a contractual relationship with TRFC. RIFC do not have a contractual relationship with RFC 1872 so if they apply they are a new club/company under b) If TRFC apply they are a new club under a). UEFA had to cover the current construct in their reply to make the point neither a) nor b) would face sanctions because to UEFA they are “new”. If they are not “new” UEFA would have sanctioned them in 2012 for breaches in 2011. RFC 1872 were not sanctioned and TRFC/RIFC were not eligible for three years because they are new. I’ll say no more on this use of the term “company” to mean anything other than what UEFA intend for its not what Res12 was about. An unforeseen consequence, a question that was never asked and what UEFA volunteered by way of explaining no sanction in 2011."
  20. Was just writing a post on that Sting, nice. They were going to punish the bearz in 2012 but couldn't because they were deid
