  1. Talk that mcgurn left in a rage prior to full time. Laurie ellis joining him in leaving within 10 mins after full time whistle.. Rifts amongst the camp due to mcgurn not wanted by mckinnon from day one due to his own preferences and laurie signed as a player coach and are both a waste of a wage.
  2. according to twitter late last night, the lochee Friendly was arranged to hopefully give the injury list a chance to gain match fitness prior to our first League match on 8th august, and to possibly get some trialists involved aswell as the players who havent played enough minutes over pre season. (under 20's). mcgurn/laidlaw thomson bates barr wighton stewart these guys will probably all feature if they dont play in two cup games due to injury or Not playing.
  3. The hearts friendly subs had me in stitches.. Big G the announcer got half way through announcing the 10 hearts players coming on... Then laughed and gave up.. "Aye we will leave it at that" Then mathews came on to "oh tonbe replaced by... No number on his shirt , we will call him ronaldo"
  4. Dunfermline athletic wont ever learn, they badly need out of that league, and clearly the fans feel the same way many of them stating another season in league one and they wont be back, so this will be a massive season for them, yip their budget will always be greater than ours, does that bother me, not in the slightest, their fan base is greater than ours, does that bother me? Not in the slightest. They are in league one while we are in the championship, ? Does that bother me? Not in the slightest, but it does make me chuckle to see them punting heafty wages on average championship players, in a league that cowdenbeath will win.
  5. Best keeper in the league or not if you do not abide by club rules then you deserve all you get in my opinion, Many more rumours doing the rounds tonight that mcgurn has went on holiday after the club told him not too. Time will tell if any truth to that,
  6. Was at a fun day at michael woods centre today so thought id take in some rovers training, The boys are training hard but enjoying it. The banter was definatly their today aswell, mckinnon constantly encouraging them, wanting the ball on the deck, constantly drumming into them to "use your team mates" " find the spaces" Mcgurn was their today but still no anderson or barr so they two are allready a week behind, A no alcohol ban for pre season has been put in place by mckinnon, spoke with a couple of the players all saying the same thing, "loving te tempo of pre season so far" "some of the boys the gaffers brought in are real class" Craigen, wighton, petrie are very comfortable on the ball, exeptional skill and techniques, great range of passes and know where the goal is, And this aaron birch from west brom, if he is as keen on signing as people say then he needs offered a deal right away! What a class act,! Has one hell of a thunderous strike on him. Anyways, lets all forget about all the nonsense thats turning negative, as from what insaw today that team is full of spirit and raring to go. Oh and a final thought, mckinnon had a wee 20 minute walk arround the pitch when he sent the team in for a swim, taking notes, almost like he was picturing situations in his head.
  7. Hearing tonight that Aaron birch from west brom still on trial and that mckinnon wants to offer him a deal.
  8. This lad birch may well not be the player signing tomorrow but birch has definatly been training since monday
  9. Aaron birch from west brom ( attacking midfielder) been on trial with us all this week.
  10. our budget was always going to be cut due to having to release Grant Murray... mckay nade fox hill watson scott moon conroy elliot, plus kitman brian marr, but to me we have brought in a better kind of player: Megginson, Petrie, Mccord, toshney, Benedictus, Wighton, (plus New signing) Plus we have added a coach and an assistant Manager. so technically like for like with regards to numbers out and in, Mckinnon has went about his business quick, and got exactly who he has wanted, and certainly hasnt been held to ransom by the sounds of it. Laidlaw may well not be re signed now, We have cuthbert and mcgurn to battle it out, and the young lad Scott Law who may well replace laidlaw as 3rd choice. the youngesters: Bates, Mathews will defiantly feature. Court Campbell ford Robertson will be involved in matchdays but will be what Mathews was last season, on the bench but rarely used. Mcgurn cuthbert Law Bates thomson Mckewon Barr Benedictus toshney Ford ellis Anderson Mccord Petrie Callachan Mathews Campbell vaughan Stewart Megginson wighton Court Ford. (new Signing friday) 24 man squad with only 5 who havent featured in the first team, I think its a big enough squad with plenty scope for differant formations and set ups, We have 3 forwards who can play in behind or on the wings, and wingers who can play as wing backs... defiantly set up better this pre season than last pre season. Mcgurn benedictus barr toshney (x3 CB) anderson (RWB) mccord (CM) callachan CM) petrie (CM) Mckeown (LWB) Stewart Wighton (2xFWD) subs: cuthbert thomson vaughan megginson mathews bates new guy can also play 4-2-3-1...(anderson Vaughan Wighton as the forward 3) with stewart or megginson up top... plenty to look forwrad to !
  11. i wouldnt read to much into the deal only being 6 months. i read last week a piece from hartley that stated he was delighted that a championship club was interested in taking craig on loan, hartley rates him highly but still feels he has a lot to learn and since the championship has rangers hibs and st mirren in the league its the next step in craigs career according to hartley. he also stated that the length of any loan deal was determined on how well Loy, hemmings, stewart, Mcgowan, Low, ferry harris, mcginn, roberts all perform during the season, and if their wasnt a place for wighton then the loan could be extended, again depending on craigs development aswell. cracking signing for us even if it is only for 6 months, but he should be capable of standing out at this level from what ive heard from dundee fans and reports. another piece of the rovers jigsaw masterpiece.
  12. Danny Galbraiths name is doing the rounds late last night and early this morning, Was ex hibs, then went to limerick and more recently Gillingham where he just been released. natural Left winger. only 24 years of age too.
  13. totally agree with that, but i would quite happily sack the cup runs this season if it meant we finished 3rd/4th. like many teams our home form will determin wether we can push into the play offs, making starks park a tough place to get any goal/points against us is a massive must for us after last season. the likes of Livi, rangers, QOS will have last seasons results at starks in their minds, and they are the results we must Rectify, QOS look to have lost a really good core of their squad, and havent properly replaced them players yet. Falkirk as per usual are keeping quiet, but havent lost any players from their squad last season apart from Loy, so id imagine much of the same from them, they will manage to find another striker to replace Loy out of knowhere. St Mirren and Morton will be where our season is won and lost, these will be our toughest tests, both have a lot to prove, and could be a hit or a miss. But if we can find a couple of really decet experience Pro's to fill in the blanks of our squad then we should be ok.
  14. The first 5 home games gives us a really good chance of building some sort of defent home form, all winable games.! Or games id like to think we can take care of. Yeh best fixture for me is hibs away at new year, i have mates who are hibees and mates who are jambos who will probably join us for a day sesh.
  15. Dale hilson would certainly fit the bill for what mckinnon wants, and likes! Hungry, energetic, skillfull, knows where the goal is, can play in a number of forward positions. And has scored a good few goals vs mckinnons brechin over last two seasons.
  16. Craig Barr, David McGurn, Kevin cuthbert & shock....... Callum Elliot!!
  17. Every manager has his own ways come match day and likes things to done a certain way, they also have their own methods during monday to friday training days with regards to kit etc. So if gunters ways/methods were differant from what mckinnon wants and or needa then its the managers choice at the end of the day the last thing he would need is someone or thing upsetting the apple cart. Change has been needed! The club has been under mcglynn era for too long now, yip it got us back to where we needed to be its now time for a new era to move one step onwards
  18. a couple of points, Barr's injury isnt as serious as his injury last pre season, but he wont be it and ready to start pre season for 2/3 weeks which puts him behind the rest of the squad, so mckinnon is covering all his options. Watson has stalled again on a contract because he fears he wont get regular starting slot.. thanks for everything and cheerio then, done same at livi i believe, didnt like the thought of having to fight for his position. at least mckinnon isnt pandering to these guys and sorting it out sooner rather than being left short later! as for Dougie hill, he didnt want to go back to full time for only 1 year hence why he wasnt offered a deal, Mckinnon still saying today he wants more faces in before training starts, and he will also be bringing in some trialists for the first couple of weeks of training.
  19. Because the white kit will bot be used as much this season but will end up being 2016/17 seasons away strip and will then go on sale, The club have openly admitted that they struggle every year to sell 2 kits at a time, so this is why they have staggered the new kits.
  20. Because the white kit will bot be used as much this season but will end up being 2016/17 seasons away strip and will then go on sale, The club have openly admitted that they struggle every year to sell 2 kits at a time, so this is why they have staggered the new kits.
  21. The club have always stated that they would never release two strips at any one time due to being scorned previously. So they have now staggered the kits over 2 season deals, what this means is larger stock orders for 1 kit per pre season, allowing the club to buy in more stock meaning the fans will buy more of the 1 strip, This may change at some point but as of now the club will bring in a new blue home kit (2 seasons) And will bring more remember strips in. Small amount to top up what they allready have. The 3rd kit wont be unvield untill later on dueing pre season. Makes perfect business sense to me.
  22. the information i was given was given to me by a very reliable source, and one ive trusetd before. belive what you wish. as for guys saying its a biggers squad etc.. weve lost : elliot, moon, scott, fox, conroy, hill, nade, Mckay.. we thought that was big enuogh squad. yet it wasnt good enough. we are replacing these players, and replacing them with good championship quality players who were full time on loan to part time clubs, or were part time but have previously been full time. our current crop of players includes 7 who havent properly featured in the first team, hopefully Bates, mathews and 1 other will feature next season, in my earlier post i mentioned the club having high hopes for bates mathews and court, i got the 3rd name wrong it wasnt court it was callum Robertson.they are the 3 players mckinnon hopes push into the pre season first team suqad peoprely. that only leaves us right now with mcgurn cuthbert law (GKs) thomson mckeown barr bates Ford (DEF) callachan petrie mccord anderson campbell mathews (MId) Megginson stewart vaughan court robertson (fwd) we can rule out court campbell ford Law from being first team contenders this season. so currently we would have a first team squad of 15. Laidlaw i wouldnt be bothered about, as we have Law coming through the ranks if god for bid mcgurn and cuthbert were out. Watson is on holiday i belief, but is not the defender thats due to be unveild tomorrow. So mckinnon wanting another 5 players isnt un realistic. the New home strip will be blue and unveild this week and go on sale from middle of june. we will also have a white 3rd kit, due to us having 2 dark strips the spfl wouldnt allow us 2 dark strips due to colur clash. so we will have a white 3rd kit which wont go on sale this season, but this will replace the rememebr strip as away kit for season 16/17.
  23. Mckinnon has a defender agreed, but cannot announce his signing untill tuesday AM as he is contracted at current club untill Monday 8th. Makes me think its a player who had contract extended for play offs.. Also stating 2 more signings by end of the week the. Another 2 prior to the 22nd june, as ray wants all players in for first day of training. He has then accepted he will be looking for 2 season long loans. Davidson is away on two week trial to far east. Qatar area. Has 3 offers from scotland and further 4 from england.. No danger he be back at raith. New hom Strip will be revealed by end of next week, and go on sale the following week.. Strip has surprised me but i understnad the clubs logic. A good move.! Everything coming from the club just now is positive, signing part time players who can make step up to full time is great, megginson comes from aberdeen, (full time) mccord has been full time at dundee united as has petrie, We have some cracking youth prospects in our club which will be given a freah start under mckinnon and i fully expect bates mathews court to take their chance, court has had a cracking scoring season last season! I for one am glad mckinnon is in and is openly changing our football club again! Next level for us..
  24. our new home strip will be white and will be for 2 years.. however for its second year it will become our away strip With a New home Strip next summer. This was brought up by the club last summer, the club had agreed that it wasnt Fair For Fans to pay for two strips every summer and also that if the club were only getting 1 new strip every season instead of 2 then we would be garunteed these strips for summer holidays, full range of sizes and a larger amount of stock.
  25. Anyone else thinking that the club taking the next couple of weeks to pick our gaffer could seriously hamper new signings? Or will malpas and chairman be signing some of current squad and maybe pre contracts?
