  1. You can just imagine Doctor Frankengreen at the time of the takeover; "Now, Sevco, you may be ugly but you have been created for a reason - to let me fill my Big Yorkshire Hands with all the assets i can plunder from you and Dedco before i get rumbled and have to get the hell out of Dodge sharpish And as a wee safeguard I've stitched a little something deep in your vitals that will serve as my "Get Out Of Jail Free" card if the rozzers ever catch up with me. What it costs you may prove to be terminal for you, my child, but by thenI won't care because I'll either be living it large in the South of France or sharing a cell with Igor, or my little Paki friend as I prefer to call him. MWAHAH HAH HAH HAAAAH................."
  2. I take it you are being deliberately obtuse, but in answer to your question - I asked one specific individual if he feels it is acceptable. And the fact that the stuff has been posted at all, and welcomed by most of those on that horrible thread, makes it self-evident that sadly it is acceptable TO SOME, which is what I said. Simple enough stuff for most to follow, I'd've thought.
  3. Naw, sorry - that smacks too much of the old Nazi " I VASS ONLY OBEYINK ORDERZ" line. This stuff is still acceptable to some in present day Scotland. That shouldn't be tolerated or ignored.
  4. You're missing the point - probably on purpose. A straightforward question for you - do you really feel that the contents of that thread are in any way acceptable in 21st century Scotland??
  5. That's a horrible, horrible thread. I felt like wiping my feet on the way out. It's generally agreed that there's less of that sort of nonsense around now on both parts of the great diddievide, but honestly, if these "peepell" manage to ingrain this sort of filth into their kids we're going to have ongoing sectarian issues for a long time to come. Scotland's shame, right enough.
  6. Managers stand or fall by their decisions. Get them right consistently and they'll do well, get them wrong and they won't, and they'll end up out of a job. Yes, Caldwell was definitely one of our better performers and was playing well when he was in the team, and Duffy dropped him. Presumably for the good of the team; what what the precise reason was we'll probably never know. I can't be arsed checking precisely when he was dropped, but we won the last five or six games on the bounce without Caldwell in the team, which thankfully was good enough to win the league as it turned out. This post isn't a defence of Duffy, who we all know isn't Jose Mourinho material. It's a post in response to thoughtless bollocks like the one I've quoted. Constructive criticism is one thing and is to be welcomed on threads like this; groundless negativity for the sake of it though just pisses me off.
  7. Aye, just you do that. Have to say, the amount of negativity on here weeks before a ball is kicked is depressing. There isn't much transfer activity going on anywhere else in the division so it ain't just us who aren't vastly increasing/improving their squad, but all that seems to do is encourage the anti-Duffy faction on here to bump their gums a bit more. Like it or not, we have Duffy in charge until his contract runs out or his gaffers see fit to bin him. That's neither a statement of support nor one of criticism, it's a simple statement of the facts. Nothing we can do about it. Be good if some on here could just accept that for what it is and shut the hell up. Just saying, like......
  8. Aye, that's vt for you. He devoted an entire thread on the League One forum to last season's Title-winning campaign, and though it was great to have all the video highlights gathered together in one place (and well done to him for that) he gave a cringeworthy game by game account that was so jingoistic and triumphalist that you'd think we'd somehow managed to win the World Cup. Now, because it's in the context of Duffy, the same guy refers to it as a complete non-achievement. Go figure....... And that's the thing about on here, for so many posters opinions are either black or white and there's no room for anything in between. And reasoned argument only invites ridicule. Though I must admit it's unusual to see someone argue BOTH black and white cases on different threads.......
  9. tbh, most of our first-team pool only arrived last summer so can't accuse them of that kind of behaviour. You hope that results like Saturday's will tone some of the mouths-on-sticks down a bit, but I doubt it.......
  10. Re the bit in bold - I know what you mean, mate. My lot were rank rotten last season and fully deserved the drop, but some of the steamers in our support posting on here come across with the same Billy Bigtime arrogance that we all hated to see from the Gruesome Twosome support in their prime. Yeah, a lot of it is passed off as "banter" and weak attempts at trolling, but there are still some eejits who believe it. Muppets.
  11. No,if you'd had Barrowman since the start of the season WE'D be closer to the top of the table! :0) He tried hard enough but it never really worked for him at Cappielow, and I don't think you'd find a single Morton fan who doesn't think we've a stronger first team pool now than we had at the end of last year. (Edited to add - why the hell don't iPad smileys show up on P&B posts? Bloody annoying.......)
  12. ThuRaingurz programme editor: "We whit? He's WHIT?? Ach bugger it, it' still rid white an' blue so who gives a f**k?"
  13. Funniest moment for me - and maybe for some others who live in Inverclyde - was when their team bus was set alight a couple of years back. I forget when exactly, but it happened pretty soon after some changes to their board, if I remember rightly.
  14. McDowall to Durrant - "try an' get a haud o' that guy - see if he can fill in in centre mid the night against the Hibbies......."
