The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them. The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 235 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff. We have one chance to change that. Just thought I would share that I successfully completed my Mentorship in Professional Practice module at University of West of Scotland. Go me. Not bad for someone who hasn't done any academic writing since 2004 I actually quite enjoyed it despite doing it whilst off sick (think that might have helped timewise) so I may look into doing some more modules and actually finishing off my degree
