I don't disagree that there's a lot of missing the point. I do disagree that we should "get over it". The two world wars (or one long one with a wee break in Europe) were rock bottom for both the system of international relations and in the domestic politics of many of the main players. I think people would do well to remember how bad things can get and how we got there.
