I got £50 and I've only placed a fiver this summer.

Anyone have a Sony a6000? I'm looking at upgrading. From what I've read about the camera it's a pretty good camera for the price, but I'd be stuck with the Kit Lens for a while until I get a bit more money together.

Bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X last night for £150 as my phone screen completely shattered yesterday when I touched it. Was torn between that and the Ulefone Power 2 but ended up going with the Note 4X. A bit less bulky and the battery life is supposedly the same.

Noticed there were cheap flights between Glasgow and Zadar not that long ago and was tempted. Maybe next year. Dubrovnik looks amazing.

Went through Edinburgh last month and it was a shambles. The "queues" were spilling out past the checkout gates and on the way back going through customs there were queues coming from every direction. No organisation whatsoever. Best airports are Hong Kong, Kansai, Singapore and Vancouver.

Half the Scottish islands are rat infested. Barra is pretty bad for them. I've seen more there than I have in Glasgow and Edinburgh. I think Canna spent a fair bit of money getting rid of them a few years ago and now it's infested with rabbits instead

If you stay in Osaka Kyoto is only a short train ride away. 30-40 minutes. Hiroshima is worth a couple of days for sure.

Just back from a short break in Chamonix and Annecy. Loved it but depends what you're into.

Very similar to what I did the first time I visited, but I flew into Tokyo and out of Osaka. Spent 4 days in Tokyo and got the 7 day JR pass the day I left. Then did Kyoto for 3 nights, Hiroshima for 1, Miyajima the next day and on to Osaka for a few nights afterwards. Nara can be done in a day trip from Kyoto or Osaka. The three cities are all relatively close to one another. Try and get to Osaka at the weekend. There's a buzz to it on a Friday and Saturday. Fuji is easy enough to get to. Probably want to go to Hakone with the Hakone Free Pass. There's a fair bit to do, but Fuji is notoriously elusive if there's any cloud so it's better planning for a day when you know you'll get the weather for it.

The US in general has become ridiculously expensive with regards to accommodation. The exchange rate is a factor but even taking that into account the prices are huge compared to what they used to be. Especially for NYC.
