  1. Ian Murray wanted it but had to give 30 days notice to his current club he is with in Norway from what i hear as he is still contracted Are Airdrie having to wait 30 days Chris?
  2. The CWC finished 20 years ago, he’s not really wrong
  3. No it’s not . one of the interviewees was then offered a job in the back room the following morning before it went public as he had qualifications JB didn’t. Not a single bit of it BS
  4. Again not true What part isn’t true Chris?
  5. Ian Murray wanted it but had to give 30 days notice to his current club he is with in Norway from what i hear as he is still contracted Not true Chris, Nid did want the job until told the budget and said thanks but no thanks. 4 man committee were meant to go back to board with findings from interview but I believe they didn’t , just deciding to appoint JB. Didnt realise until they had gave him job that didn’t have licence. Shambles of an appointment from start to finish , hopefully Sat night
  6. He was excellent, especially considering was his first senior game. however one swallow doesn’t make a summer, though to be fair Peter Shilton in his prime wouldn’t keep a clean sheet with this lot in front of him
  7. Ian Murray declined once budget was mentioned , I believe there was another contender who was a rookie in manager terms but had been working within the senior game for several years who wanted job. The board went for experience in Brogan which makes me ask, why do clubs always want experience even if the experience is bad??? Surely someone looked at his jnr record and said if he’s that good why has he not been given a top junior job ever??
  8. What are the board waiting on with the manager. lucky not to have been hammered today again .
  9. Also what’s happened with 3 brought in? Theyve not featured much, at all. Why sign them & not play them, the loan market was the potential joker to get us out this mess. If he’s signed them but isn’t playing them does that suggest that they weren’t properly scouted in the first place?? are they all still even at the club??
  10. Had a read at ARFC forums , painful reading but at least it has some critical analysis for a change and isn’t the happy clapping site of old. Picked up on rumours of a GK coming from Well and was hoping Chris or Pastmaster could confirm something. Hasnt JB already used his 4 loanees allowed until transfer window opens?? I may be corrected but understand that he brought in 3 in one day plus one of Alloa boys is on loan. (May not be the case but sure it’s Greene) Anyone know ?
  11. Yes on both counts though from talking with a head teacher in the Georgian yesterday , mcminn took the football side up a level. Its great to see so many rovers teams in Coatbridge , albeit some are under Cliftonhill name
  12. Correct Pastmaster. They have done some good community work football wise with the schools although I think that was down to Anthony McMinn. Also heard last night they are doing some great work with some local Palestinian refugees by inviting them all to the next home game on to the pitch to show support for the current plight of their people. when we slate them for football reasons it’s only right we praise them for being decent people
  13. There was still one or some would say he was 2 if you go by the ARFC forum. There are still people hopelessly out their depth on a club board. People who were brought on to board to up the voting numbers of one side & not because of any particular skill set. Im not suggesting these aren’t decent and well meaning people but not club directors who are capable of driving the club forward and bringing in funds to allow it to compete.
  14. I doubt very much this is the case. Think it’s well known that a few people have wanted his position , it should be noted that he has done well to keep a few charlatans out the place. My problem with him is if he doesn’t know anything about on field matters then don’t sit on committee that hires manager. Think this was an appointment to please the memories group as it made no sense whatsoever. The other 3 are every bit as culpable as none asked if he had appropriate coaching badges for this level.
  15. Is it the full board that can’t be trusted? Brogan was appointed by a 4 man committee, 2 of which have now left the club(rats&ships possibly) , of the other 2 one is a man who I know very little of but believe he came from the trust and the chairman who as much as he’s a huge Rovers fan you can tell he doesn’t know much about the game at all. he spends home games wandering about the crowd with his back to the game. On 2nd thoughts maybe he’s smarter than the rest of us, I’m gonna try facing the wrong way next week.
  16. Believe it or not they appear to be mobilizing in their own forum. The penny finally dropped for some of them a week or 2 ago. I think I stated on here before league or League Cup started that this team if under Brogan wouldn’t reach double figures in points and be very lucky to win a game. I’m thinking now that they might not score double figures. Board are a shambles and have been for some time, from chairman to directors of football to manager the club is a shambles from top to bottom
  17. The only thing that surprised me about this is that I didn’t know there was a Costa in Coatbridge where is it
  18. Pastmaster - I’ve seen you want answers etc from board and more often than not completely agree with you. But what I am a wee bit perplexed with as to why on ARFC forum you play the mystic game of wait & see etc when you’ve already told us on here about board room resignations. Is there more to it than you’ve let on last night? There is still too much bitching and backstabbing at club and people who have meant to have left still lurking in the background being briefed by board members and in turn briefing fans such as yourself. why not put it out in the open and let fans know what the issues are which will force the serious questions to be addresssed, instead of playing the ‘ all will be revealed ‘ shite Because let’s face it , although we all hear rumours very little gets revealed.
  19. Exactly, saw Rovers fans wanting Gemmel brought back without understanding that Camby are paying players £150 plus per week and have a few ex senior players who would all have done a job in L2
  20. I fully agree with everything you’ve said but when it comes to appointing a football team manager then the people interviewing him don’t need to know too much about VAT etc, if the business people do projections, cash flow etc etc then they’ve done their bit, the people who interview for managers position should have a knowledge of football. They clearly don’t have any knowledge of the game or didn’t ask the correct questions. Either way whoever voted for current manager and/or signing policy are culpable. Hamilton knew the club situation before coming in, he’s had friends involved feeding him information. i think coming in is more of an ego trip than wanting to do the best for the club. lets face it,nobody is gonna come in and get rich from the club. The only ones who will is the major shareholders in the event of an insolvency. Downs leaving is disappointing for the work he done in community , nothing against the man but he shouldn’t have been picking manager. If your getting info from him then perhaps you could do us all a favour and find out why he voted for JB when there were far better qualified people interviewed.
  21. I just think the board seem to be bullet proof among fans. Never hear serious questions being asked if it
  22. The club are in debt and struggle to pay its debts with League & 3 SPFL monies, so don’t think it’s far fetched to think that Lowland league money will enable them to keep up payments. Maybe they could survive but as a footballing nomad like East Stirling as in event of insolvency the ground would be sold
  23. This isn’t out of desperation, this is out incompetence of employing someone who hasn’t been involved in senior game for 22 years. The manager doesn’t know the players in league 1 or 2 as he’s been involved in juniors. The fact that he’s brought in 3 very young loans and thinks that’s the answer tells us all we need to know
  24. This is a darker era for me, no relegation then. This board are miles off it. The chairman may have stepped up to the plate and we should be forever grateful but we’re on the road to extinction if nobody is brought on board who knows a thing about football. The fans deserve some explaining around the appointment. I heard 4 man committee was interviewing. the chairman , Craig Downs (what even is his background that he should be elevated to picking manager, he was taking young kids team) Lyndsay Hamilton , remember him? Another person who came and went and nobody knows what he done and why he left. A fans rep was also on committee I hear but not sure of name. What questions were asked of Brogan , style & recruitment. If he has said juniors then did any of the committee know much about the junior game? I can’t imagine any of them did , because they’d have known the top juniors pay way more than Rovers. So that leaves us with them knowing that he was goin to sign 2nd or 3rd tier players. That should be enough to know he shouldn’t have got job or interviewers shouldn’t be in job. They even forgot to ask about coaching badges ffs. Is the managers ongoing coaching courses that he’s been forced to pay coming out the playing budget ?
  25. Can I ask who you think should be shouted at Vic? Or are you Vic the pacifist?
