  1. I thought Cunningham was best player also though did miss a good chance. Had a decent touch and held up ok with what little service he got. however he ain’t go run away from anyone which if relying on route 1 football , you need striker with pace. Gracie not the answer either
  2. Potts, Wharton, Gallagher, McLear, McLeod all had experience to be fair. He’s not told any fibs there, just maybe not what Fisher was expecting
  3. Thank god for that, find it strange that he’s no longer captain, though Wharton would be next Choice
  4. If we have a manager in place who thinks the answer is bringing in 3 teenagers, then I’m afraid we’ve got the wrong man in place. I fully get there isn’t a lot of money about the club but what little there is has been spent poorly. Todays game was little more than a preseason for Peterhead , a team who haven’t set the heather on fire this season. Im not sure anyone got pass marks , felt for Cunningham who worked hard and done well with what little service he got. I hope the club got money for naming rights but if it’s to give to the manager would you trust him to spend it wisely? I definitely don’t, if there’s funds hold off to see if any signs of improvement if not give it to new guy. Again not blaming Brogan but whoever gave him this job deserves to go. Also where was Fisher our most experienced player, rumour at ground was he wasn’t even picked for squad despite being available. If manager thinks Fish isn’t better than what we witnessed today then our problems are bigger than I thought, which I wasn’t sure was possible
  5. Sticking plaster & gaping wound springs to mind. however given the state of current squad, and lack of money I think it’s a wise move by the manager. lets just hope it’s the better players from these teams because realistically who would want to send players to play on Rovers pitch.
  6. While I get this and agree, this was brought in to keep clubs from kicking up shite about champions not getting in. id forget seeds in group stages as well. Luck of the draw. However TV dictates again and want as many big clubs in for audience figures.
  7. Was reserve side. wonder how long Celtic will continue to send a side to this. last year 7nil, 8 this year. Both years hardly a first team player featured for Rovers.
  8. Yes and to be fair the current board done well to sort it out, or got lucky with Celtic draw. Theres a fine line between cutting costs/budgets and putting a competitive team on park. If relegation had been avoided then probably would’ve been seen as great work.
  9. Rovers have been paying “megabucks” for last few years. Title winning squad budget was over £200,000 League 1 under Young wasn’t much less, he wasn’t happy with cuts which was reason why he didn’t sign contract. Yhe present budget is £60,000. How can that be the case when junior outfits have bigger budgets without the SPFL money plus the money from cups etc. You can’t onky concentrate on paying bills, there must be people looking to drive revenue at club via sponsorship etc. The club is heading down the stank if they’re not careful
  10. There are Gems but gems still cost money. Ross Stewart cost the club around £1500 did he not? Mullen I’m not sure if cost but a great player at lower league level. I think the Keeper was the main reason, not to apportion blame to any young boys who came in but a GK game isn’t just about saving shots it’s about keeping the ball away from the box. i thought Bowman looked the part in early stages though think he may have had issues towards the end. An experienced keeper would have saw a few more points on the board. Rovers were just outside playoff when he left & only went bottom on final day as you’ll know. Personally I think Perry wasn’t as bad as made out , think lack of regular partner beside him was problem. Mart on the other hand .....
  11. How long would you give the manager Vic? And how do the board escape criticism for the shambolic state they’re in. Penny wise pound foolish, had they replaced the keeper Bowman last winter rather then they would still be in League 1. The decision to go with Brogan defies belief and shows whoever conducted interviews and thought it was a good idea to fill club with players from Juniors shouldn’t be allowed within a 2 mile radius of the stadium.
  12. I don’t think the person in question will have any intentions to be a chairman. more likely that he will want the club to go under so he will profit from sale if the ground.
  13. I’m hearing a 60k budget is already at 68. Not sure if any truth in it. i don’t blame the manager, whoever made the appointment is to blame. made point few weeks back, if club skint why were preseason friendlies against junior teams and closed doors. In past few seasons , Falkirk & Clyde and Well?? bringing in some funds. The club seem as bad as the results
  14. Can we now stop the “Betfred was warm up for real thing, wait till we’re up against teams our own level “ crap. This club unless things change are doomed. Certs to finish bottom and future of club will be in jeopardy. The last few boards couldn’t get the club in a good position despite 4 old firm ties so what chance if we’re playing Civil Service Strollers. Manager interview today slates then saying they’ve had their chance and loan players will come in then says they’re good lads and will come good next week. He signed every player. Only kept Fisher on who has hardly had a decent game this year. This decision to appoint a junior manager is a joke. We won’t get off bottom of league unless changes. Wheras the state of pitch at home arguably cost us the league last season it could be only thing that saves us as will bring teams down to our level
  15. This sums up position Rovers are in to be honest. Getting pelters from a traveler with a photo of a guy who’s miles above this level but can’t get a decent club because he got done for a sex case. best of it is he’s right State of ARFC
  16. Why is 19th place so important?
  17. Was ok, got potential but still has some mistakes in him. Although harsh to judge him on team that leaked goals though
  18. This is the worry. You only had to look at last season Vic to see the difference confidence done. this time last year undefeated in group and scoring for fun, albeit conceding for fun as well. My worry is this will be the boys with their tails up excited at getting a crack at senior football, that novelty will wear off if getting beat every week. Boys will go into their shells and hide or fake injuries. a win early can galvanize the team , I just can’t see where it’s going to come from.
  19. The difference being wee Gus knows the leagues inside out , he also has some junior players and usually mixes with some decent loan signings. To be fair top junior side will be on treble what Rovers are paying which tells you that the club is or has been run shambolically the last few years, especially when you take into account Rangers x 3 & Celtic in Cup plus 3 seasons in league 1 with decent crowds from DAFV, Ayr, Airdrie etc
  20. Yes, though Pep would struggle with his budget. However his lack of knowledge of league will be what costs the club. whoever thought it would be wise idea to give the job to someone who has been operating in the juniors for the last 22 years should be kicked onto the kerb. What questions were asked at interview regarding knowledge of teams & players within the division. The guy has been attending his own teams games every week so it’s not his fault. I still can’t get head round it and think it could ultimately cost the club it’s existence if it backfires. not a pop at John Brogan in his position he’s got to take it.
  21. It’s not the not scored bit, it’s the hardly had a shot that’s more worrying . you can’t expect to sign almost a team of juniors & expect to compete. The 2 players of real experience at this level, Fisher & Wharton are on bench. Would be good to know the explanation of why. Hopefully just injuries. I honestly can’t see where a win is coming from
  22. I’ve said on here a few times that the decision in naming JB was going to be a disaster and would lead to certain relegation. Having now seen them several times I haven’t changed my opinion. After listening to the SoundCloud interviews however I’m beginning to feel for the manager , he seems honest with none of the usual management speak cliches. Although not an appointment I agree with I hope he proves me wrong. will be a horrible watch for the purist though
  23. I agree with the notion of all clubs doing well to enter at later rounds but would love to know from a CEO if it is more profitable. i appreciate that it’s luck of the draw in terms of glamour & geographical costs for hiring of planes hotels etc but using Hibs as an example, they hadn’t won a tie for 29 years losing against Greek & scandaniavian teams etc. Crowd looked half decent for Faroes home game so i’d Imagine they’d make more money from a duff tie like that via match day revenue plus bonus money than entering next round and getting knocked out. Is this daft thinking? ....though imagine argument gets blew out when lose to teams like Progress
  24. I wasn’t no, I thought it was Motherwell reserves? Great to hear they looked good but I don’t really read into playing against a reserve side.
  25. Why closed doors for preseason, surely they should be trying to get money through the door. Also the standard of fixture isn’t really going to give any indication of where the team is at. looks like the club have left it too late to arrange games have appointed a manager from the juniors with limited contacts in senior game and he’s had to call people he knows. Getting the feeling this will be a long season
