I think the Rangers fans are letting their hatred for Celtic cloud their thinking. if the fans got their wish and the season was null and void, how can they expect to get prize money? The sponsors won’t pay the full whack, the Tv companies won’t pay the full whack either!! The last thing Rangers need is reduced money compared to what they budgeted for. Especially given that their accounts were showing £10M to get to end of season. Also the one thing above all that’s kept them afloat has been their brilliant success in Europe under SG. If that’s scrapped as well then they’d likely get reduced Eufa payments as well. And I’d imagine players will have been paid bonuses already for getting out the groups & past Braga. Final point, if the EL gets scrapped then the coefficient points for this season could also be scrapped meaning we won’t get the extra Champions League spot, which is crucial to Rangers getting self sustaining, or as close as possible. would rangers fans be willing to give this all up putting their club at real risk of going bust just to stop Celtic getting 9 in a row, which lets face it. Both clubs have done it already and nobody outside the 2 clubs gives a rats ass about it

Very poor tonight, struggled to keep ball. big crowd and early goal and they could be there for the taking. I’ve not been Cosgroves biggest fan but felt sorry for him out there. Worked hard and brought people into game but service was poor and had opportunities to get crosses in and turned inside with square passes.

Was over 15,000. Didn’t sound much singing coming through tv , which isn’t always the best indicator

True they can be inspired by likes of Robertson, but you don’t think more would be if our teams were taking on Europe’s best and thinking they could be sharing the park with a messi, ronaldo of their era. not to mention it gives them the chance to see the best players in the flesh.

Some very good points, but what would you like to happen? What would cheer you up. all teams papped out first qualifiers or just Sevco n Celtic? surely you’ve got to want our teams to be at the top of the game to inspire or kids that being Scottish doesn’t mean you need to accept being sh*te

I fully get where you’re coming from on this, however Aberdeen finished 2nd 3 of the last 4 seasons. there’s also a real chance of Sevco going pop again over the next couple of years or at least failing FFP for UEFA license. imagine the difference a CL group spot would do to a Aberdeen, Killie, Hearts or Hibs. One shot could set them up for years and would surely trickle down through other clubs in transfers. plus would half the TV share that Celtic would get assuming they’re the other team to qualify. It might not have worked out well but surely the club should’ve been applauded for trying something new. While i agree the £10,000 to cash for kids looks foolish now but are we really having a go at club for giving to charity. im no finance expert but maybe that reduced tax bill or something.

There’s got to be a balancing act. If you don’t spend money on Park then you end up bottom of league and it becomes false economy. If rovers go down they lose the Spfl money then they won’t be able to service any debt. You wouldn’t pay all your wages towards clearing your mortgage early to sit in the house with no TV or couch

145 sums up where ARFC is as a club. going out the leagues & possibly existence with a whimper. The board for the last 2 seasons have placed too much emphasis on clearing debt than on park.
