  1. I’ve played the iPad version in the past and, while nowhere as detailed as the main game, I found it much better than the mobile version, which I’m not a fan of. Might be worth picking up for journeys etc, depending on the price.
  2. After a couple of months of swithering I eventually bought a Switch at the weekend, with Zelda and Mario Kart. Utterly immersed in Zelda so far and I’ve hardly scratched the surface. As an aside, folk that use a walkthrough for this game must really miss out on the feeling when you find something or do something and things click into place.
  3. Not entirely Spanish political history as such but The Battle for Spain by Antony Beevor gives a good history of the Civil War and its origins. On the same subject, there's an In Our Time Podcast which gives a good grounding on the Civil War.
  4. My girlfriend grew up in Gelsenkirchen and we were there for a wedding at the weekend. The locals are Schalke daft. I know you'd expect that but it's so refreshing to see everyone supporting the local team. Didn't see a single person wearing another kit all weekend.
  5. I was down in Manchester last weekend and the Art Gallery was doing limited edition pressings of Closer by Joy Division. It's limited to 1,000 copies, comes in a plastic sleeve regarding the exhibition that's on and pressed on white vinyl. £35, but I picked one up anyway. I think it stops next month.
  6. Two late goals for Hertha last night, so at least they go through. I worry that the squad isn't strong enough, or has the depth, especially with Europa League as well this season. Although, I've had that worry about the squad for the last couple of years. They've had a couple of relatively successful seasons that they should be trying to build on.
  7. Came on to say the same thing. They've been clinging on for years now, surely this is their year.
  8. Weather isn't exactly looking like summer so I'm just hoping it stays dry for the gig. Should be good nonetheless.
  9. Has anyone been to a gig at Kelvingrove Bandstand? What's it like, how is the sound? I've managed to get a ticket to see Brian Wilson there on Thursday.
  10. Managed to get standing tickets for the Hydro show. Delighted. That Pitchfork review though. Wow. It's almost as much of a hatchet job as their Ed Sheeran review.
  11. Yeah, after checking it's only seating I could get, so I'm going to hold off and try on Friday. I've no intention of sitting at a gig like that.
  12. I pre-ordered the coloured vinyl edition last month so I'm looking forward to the weekend to finally listen to it. Enjoyed most of what I've heard so far. Every album is different to the last but it always sounds like Arcade Fire. This album does seem a totally different step though. Got my presale code through so I'm buying tickets for the hydro. £8.45 booking fee! Mental.
  13. Yeah, I've been when it's around 30,000 and near the Ostkurve the atmosphere is still good. You'll usually get tickets no bother for games through the club website and they've been a decent side the past couple of years which helps bring in punters. Just as they're (hopefully) getting a decent Europa League run, I've moved back to Scotland. Great...
  14. They're also adding Gold and Silver to the Virtual Console with compatibility to Poke Bank. I'm currently making my way through Yellow on Virtual Console in order to transfer Gen I legendaries etc, so I'll maybe download one of these next.
  15. Season 3 for me as well. The slow demise of Barksdale is great viewing. The scene with Avon and Stringer on the balcony, especially. When anyone I know asks for recommendations I instantly go to The Wire. I'm like a broken record but it really is that good, and I, probably unfairly, measure everything against it.
  16. Yeah, the game kinda hints to check the long grass there but there's actually a few decent finds that'll help you out. At least initially. ETA Also download the demo and complete it to get Greninja.
  17. Hunt the long grass in the first city as there's a load of good Pokemon lurking there before you really get started.
  18. Had a notion of playing this and found it for £20 online and went for it on a whim. I'm more of a fan of long saves ever since giving the San Marino Challenge a go a few years back. I don't have as much time to invest these days but I've always had the notion of going a club in one of the French colonies and eventually having a crack at Coupe de France. Downloaded the megapack of leagues off the Internet to start my road to failure soon. That said I'll probably rage quit pretty soon.
  19. They tend to get big crowds when the big teams come to Berlin but struggle a bit more when it's "run of the mill" teams, sadly. That said, they've also had a bit of a push to bring in more punters. A lot of people move to Berlin to work and still support their "old" teams, so they're trying to attract them to games too.
  20. Going to give this a go myself. Just noticed it. I've been playing through Sun since buying it a couple of weeks ago, just beaten the Elite 4 for the first time. Great game but some of the Alolan versions look better than others. Persian looks ridiculous.
  21. I've always been of the opinion that some games are suited to handheld rather than console, and vice versa, so it'll be interesting to see what developers make of it. As usual, their big problem will be getting a lot of 3rd party development to generate sales. If they don't they'll probably resort to regurgitating old games again. No matter how good Ocarina of Time is, there's only so many times you can flog it to the general public.
  22. Great game tonight. Was hoping for a draw to keep Hertha in Position but also, best of all, to keep Leipzig on top much to the seethe of the German fans. Which obviously still happened.
  23. RB Leipzig currently giving Mainz an absolute seeing too. 3-0 so far but could've been much, much worse. Bayern drawing yesterday means that if it stays like this then Leipzig go joint top. Top end of the Bundesliga looking a little different than usual, which can only be a good thing as it makes it more competitive.
  24. Areas like Kreuzberg are good for a drink but I'd recommend staying near the S5 S-Bahn line as that takes you to the stadium. Also, there's a couple of pubs near the ground that let home and away fans in. I haven't seen much trouble at all at games. Fans tend to turn up reasonably early as you can drink in and around the stadium anyway. I've no experience as an away fan mind you as I sit in the home end if I go to games.
  25. Assuming you're looking at home end tickets you should be able to get them but order well in advance, as soon as they become available. I've never been when Hertha have been playing those two but I've against Schalke, for example, and I've been able to get seats in the home end. Bayern games sell out every single week, home or away.
