I hadn't realised it Wayne Foster's penalty that he saved - couldn't have happened to a more deserving fellow. I had a memory of being at a game where the ref took exception to a double-sub happening without his permission and booked all four players but hadn't realised it was this one - proper pedantic refereeing and nothing says old school like Cammy Duncan being physically lifted off the park and up the tunnel.

Is this going to turn into a selection of Clark and Kelly howlers? I think the only outcome is we'll see neither of them should be anywhere near the international team (but there are few alternatives for the squad).

I was there. Horrible challenge early on by Wayne Foster on Cammy Duncan and we came back from two down to draw. Jamie Dolan against Celtic was more recent but it's changed days.

I agree it's unlikely a third choice keeper would play but it's not too outlandish to imagine a scenario where you are a man down due to an injury in training and a keeper gets sent off. Or are you allowed to call up a replacement from the beach for the injured player?

I thought he was only here until the end of the season as well but couldn't be bothered checking. I assumed he'd accepted a short term deal with a view to picking up a better deal for next season.

I recently finished Timmy Mallett's autobiography, Utterly Brilliant which, to my surprise, was indeed utterly brilliant. Inspired by the life of his recently deceased Syndrome brother, cycles from his home near London on a pilgrimage to Compostela de Santiago. Despite this, he doesn't concentrate on the cycling or religious aspects but more the people he meets interspersed with the stories of his life. He comes across as just an incredibly nice person who I have to admit I found inspiring - we should all be a bit more like Timmy.

He's been released by a team that we pumped (years ago) so he's pish. Is that not how it goes?

I was talking to my dad the other day about Spittal and he's definitely another player that's improved in his time with us. I remember being fairly underwhelmed when he signed but his range of passing and the goals he's been scoring this season have been incredible. No idea if it's down to Kettlewell or if we've just been lucky to get him in his prime. As for OF fans in the Cooper, I sit up the back where it's fairly busy with regulars and wasn't aware of any Rangers fans in the play-off. There were plenty of Celtic fans on skippy Sunday but mainly down the front.

Thankfully I can now cross Livingston off my short list. The Chicken Balmoral pie was braw too.

Cheers- I wasn't at that one! I saw us draw 0-0 at Forfar on the last game of the season when we'd just won the First Division. I've no idea if I'd been there prior to that. I've just remembered being at a 1-1 draw at Boghead when, I think, Shaun Teale equalised. I've seen us win at Dumbarton's new ground since but Boghead might count. I'm only including Scottish grounds as Motherwell have lost every away European tie I've attended.

I can't actually remember Motherwell winning at Livingston and I'm not expecting that to change on Wednesday. There may be other lower league venues from the early 80's that I have no memory of but I've seen us win at all the top flight grounds apart from County (which I've never visited).

What sort of board sanctions some signings but refuses others based on their opinions over the manager's?

Absolutely. I'd rather have a club to support in the Championship than no club at all.

I thought that as well but didn't want to say anything as I'd quite rightly be told he'd had less than half a game of football. But if he's buggered off then he's fair game! Completely one-footed and wanted to beat someone several times so he could get it back to his left.

A bit more Right Said Fred. I think they played together in a home cup tie against a lower league side and were absolutely rotten.
