  1. Heard another counter point on the recent proposals for the lower leagues. Remaining games are awarded based on average home and away points. I was bored in the early hours of this morning so did a bit of work to see how it would affect the standings. Keep in mind it was early hours so there may be mistakes, also I've made the assumption that every team will play 19 home and 19 away games which I know isn't really feesible but seemed the fairest way to do it. The standings aren't affected much with only Ross County moving ahead of St Mirren by the proverbial bawhair which could have come down to GD. Is this a better solution to ending the season early if it is required? Team Current Pts Home Average Home Games Home Points Away Average Away Games Away Points Final Total Celtic 80 2.8 4 11.2 2.53 4 10.12 101.32 Rangers 67 2.43 5 12.15 2.2 4 8.8 87.95 Motherwell 46 1.47 4 5.88 1.6 4 6.4 58.28 Aberdeen 45 1.6 4 6.4 1.4 4 5.6 57 Livingston 39 2 5 10 0.69 3 2.07 51.07 Hibs 37 1.47 4 5.88 1 4 4 46.88 St John 36 1.31 3 3.93 1.15 6 6.9 46.83 Killie 33 1.53 4 6.12 0.67 4 2.68 41.8 Ross Cty 29 1.29 5 6.45 0.69 3 2.07 37.52 St Mirren 29 1.4 4 5.6 0.53 4 2.12 36.72 Hamilton 27 0.94 3 2.82 0.86 5 4.3 34.12 Hearts 23 0.87 4 3.48 0.67 4 2.68 29.16
  2. Notts County as my Uncle moved down that way when I was a boy and began following them so he'd keep telling me about them when we saw each other. I have a tendancy to look out for The Rangers* scores as the guy I work with and a few mates are supporters...always fun to have the ammo when they get beat. I also look for Airdrie results as another of my mates is a fan and we used to go to a few games
  3. Didn't the league get suspended during the wars? Not sure of the ins and outs of it but im sure someone on here does and could share what happened. Would it be possible to follow the same protocol as then? Or at least use it as a guide?
  4. I suppose the ideal situation would be option 2 with the proviso that if we get to a certain date and coronavirus is still as big an issue (or worse) then we revert to either option 1 or 3. This would all depend on the Euros right enough. Option 4 would cause the banter years thread to go into meltdown so could be hilarious. For me, choosing between option 1 and 3 is a case of choosing which would be funnier...Hearts getting relegated or Dundee United not getting promoted...it's a toughy
  5. Good bit of business...he's never disappointed when hes had a chance and his ability to play anywhere across the back is such a bonus. Hopefully having guys like Efe around to learn from will help Jack improve even more.
  6. They did the same with Robinson when he was up for battering his Mrs...going as far to not name him but call him "the Motherwell manager"
  7. Aye im working in the morning so was chuffed to hear the 3pm kick off was still in place.
  8. I'd heard Dolly hurriedly left the stadium in a taxi earlier in the evening. Hope everything is ok with the big man
  9. Couldn't hear any alarm at the game and I sit directly below the main camera Don't think he would...always spoke of the slagging his boy gets when Livi play Killie...imagine being the Killie manager and having poor results
  10. Much less of a bawsack than brown and a much more likeable character
  11. The games on the TV too...he does love a goal in front of the cameras
  12. It'd be a tough decision to drop Brown with the partnership hes forged with Guthrie...can see us sticking with the back 3 though giving us a man to match up against Griffiths and Edouard plus a free defender to mop up the midfield runners. Perhaps going for something like: McCrorie Efe - Brown - Guthrie McMillan - Bartley - Sibbald - ATS Lawless - Pittman Dykes Pittman, ATS and McMillan dropping back one place when defending making it more of a 5-3-1-1
  13. I enjoy seeing Marv on tv doing punditry...funny seeing him being so mild mannered and well spoken to then watch him batter through players and pull all the wee "tricks" to wind up opponents and being a general nuisance for other teams when on the pitch.
  14. Watching the game with no sound....WTF happened at the end of the first half? Hearts should have had a penalty but then scored from the resulting corner which wasn't a goal for some reason and McGregor is losing the rag about it?

  16. Wouldn't grudge Lamie the move...seems a hard working, honest professional as well as a pretty decent guy. As others have said, he may struggle to get into the team with the defensive cover we've got now. Can see Lithgow having the same troubles getting back into the team now as well.
  17. Also he enjoys a marauding run down the wing every so often, beating players for fun
  18. I noticed against St Mirren Dykes played on the wing for a spell allowing dolly to go central.
  19. Livingston is closer to Shotts but barely....I'm in Carstairs and Livi and Motherwell are equal distance (give or take a mile or 2)
