  1. Where did you hear that? Hope it's true enough Don't see why we would be sending a player to Falkirk "in return" when Austin is a free agent.
  2. My father in law talks about his suicide car....it's a standard 5 seater car that you are driving off a cliff and you can fill it with 4 people you hate for no reason whatsoever If there's a specific reason you hate them then it doesn't count...it must be someone that the sight of or mention of their name makes your blood boil. My passengers on the road south are: Miranda Hart Russell Brand Carl from the walking dead (the character, not the actor) Jose Mourinho
  3. Finally got a chance to watch the Dark Tower. Been wanting to see if for a while as I'm a fan of Stephen King, Idris Elba and Matthew McConnachy. What a pile of shite! As well as McConnachy and Elba play their characters the film suffers from terrible writing and editing. No atmosphere in the film at all and the storyline is diluted to become almost a kid's film. The characters have amazing potential but fall short, not due to the actors but they way they were written. 1/10
  4. The milking scene is a call back to the milk Luke drinks on tattooine in A New Hope. I agree that Ackbar should maybe have had the grand death but that scene was still spectacular. The Finn and Rose storyline at the casino had to happen to further Poe's character. It was a mistake he had to make to make himself aware of his shortcomings as a leader, something I think will be explored more in the next film. One of the big gripes I'm hearing from people is the lack of significant parentage for Rey...personally I'm glad her parents were nobodies as it moves the Star Wars story away from the old "it's just one family's domestic argument" plus Anakin came from a line of slaves. As for the Leia scene, I do remember squirming slightly when watching it...thought it would have been more poignant if Kylo Ren had seen her dying in space and used his own powers to guide her to safety which would have shown the internal struggle he's facing. All in all I was really impressed with the movie and my standout character was DJ the thief and codebreaker. Really infectious character and I genuinely felt shocked when he betrayed them....still think there's more to come from him...might be wishful thinking though.
  5. Rumour has is that we're on the verge of bringing in Nathan Austin from Falkirk. Not sure of the details, but someone on the Falkirk topic has said it's in the papers this morning. He's a striker who seems to have a decent scoring record. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Austin
  6. I agree with what you're saying regarding the council's reluctance to help the club but isn't there an agreement that the ground the stadium is on needs to be used for sporting purposes? Surely crippling the club financially puts the potential of a professional football team occupying the stadium at risk. It seems daft that a landlord would price their tenant out of the game
  7. What's the deal with the council? How are they hindering that? On your last point I'm sure every Livi fan would agree that's exactly what we want to see. As much as I'd love to see us winning titles etc, I'd much rather we made sure there was a football team for us to support in the long term
  8. I'd take Till v Ponz, love a good slugfest. On the card, had the main event been a title fight it wouldn't have looked out of place as a 2017 UFC pay-per-view. As you say, hope they take learning from this for next year.
  9. Perry is exciting to watch...borders on the cocky arsehole/loveable rogue personality much like early Conor (before the money) and Cody Garbrandt. Would like to see him fight Darren Till...especially after he confronted him after Till fought Cowboy. All in all I thought it was a belter of a card for a fight night and the fights themselves lived up to the promise.
  10. Man that was an awesome fight. Really wanted Perry to win but well deserved by Santiago.
  11. Marquez looked pretty good...you could hear the corner trying to stop him from getting into a slugfest but he was totally up for trading. Wish the punters would quit with the Rick flair "woo"....makes it seem like such a dead atmosphere...certainly wouldn't have heard it at the Glasgow shows with the crowd volume
  12. Ponzinibbio - Perry and the main event are two outstanding fights. It's a pretty decent card all round for a fight night. Did anyone catch the BAMMA show on Itv4 the other night? The lad from Geordie shore seems to be doing something right....just needs to fight a good opponent to really prove himself but certainly hasn't looked out of place in his 3 fights.
  13. Glad to see Soukhamthath getting his first win in the octagon. Thought he was unlucky in his first 2 fights. Struggled in the first round when he was trying to counter strike but when he started to pressure in the second there was only one outcome.
  14. Only managed to watch the main card today...Ngannou is frightening!!! Overeem could be out for a long time if he ever does return. Great fight between Alvarez and Gaethje and what a professional, composed performance from Holloway, can see him reigning for a long time in that division. Really good main card...sounds like the prelims were pretty entertaining too, need to give them a watch when I get a chance. So what fights need to be made? Ngannou and Stipe to meet for Stipe's funeral (seems it's been confirmed by White) Holloway to defend against Frankie Edgar Aldo to fight the winner of Swanson and Ortega Alvarez to rematch Poirier...thought Dustin was all over him until "that knee" Gaethje to fight anyone that'll stand with him purely from an entertainment POV...James Vick or Nate Diaz spring to mind
  15. Before I drove we used to get the train to band practice...so I'd have my cymbals and stick bag and the guitarist would have his guitar bag....almost every single time we'd get wee arseholes giving it "Gies a choon" or "gies a shot" or worst of all...."dae ye ken wonderwall?"
  16. The reason we have more thunder storms nowadays is due to the large amount of skuddy pics and selfies wi snapchat filters that folk store in the cloud...what we hear is the distant rumble of diddies, wallopers and dug tongues colliding.
  17. Anybody catch the One Fighting Championship on Freesports? Some interesting fighters using some crazy styles plus Ben Askren just retired last week as the reigning welterweight champion 8 years running or something.
  18. Gastelum throwing the hammer....damn! Kinda had an idea that was how it'd go...fancied it to go a bit longer right enough. Fisherman, the shout for a third hendo fight is appealing but dunno if hendo would come back for it....Anderson Silva would be an option....or give him another go at GSP
  19. Ride the lightning Master of Puppets Black Album Kill 'Em All St Anger - I know, I know but I reckon if it was another band other than Metallica released the same record it'd hailed a masterpiece
  20. Fair enough, 2 of them were against top ranked welterweights and the Diaz fight was about 5 years ago and at 155lbs. Not saying he deserves the next shot, my point was he deserves it more than Diaz at the moment. Personally, if I had to pick one it'd be Lawler.
  21. There's the park and ride near Heriot-Watt with buses running pretty regular, probably the easiest way and should beat most of the traffic
  22. Cowboy always brings a brawl...I know Till disposed of him but he's proved himself as more of a welterweight contender than Diaz.
